soonhee is a blunt person. she is so honest that at times soonhee can be blunt and hurtful. she is often apologizing to others because of her brutually honesty. she doesn't mean to be hurtful at all, soonhee just strives to be an honest, open person. soonhee also quite excitable. she is often viewed as unserious and a bit immature at times. she has a hard time keeping a straight and serious face in important matters and conversations, often resulting in her being left out of serious and important topics. it's not that soonhee doesn't understand the serious situation, it just she doesn't know how to react so she becomes giggly and smiles a bit like an idiot. soonhee is also a gullible girl. she is one who believes just about anything she's told, even if it's not true. she is so naïve and gullible that she even believes in aliens, werewolves, vampires, and many more fictional creatures. this also often plays into her being viewed as unserious and immature as well.

background. kyung soonhee was born in seoul, south korea on december 23rd, 1994. she was the first child of two, her younger brother coming only three years later in 1997. growing up, soonhee was the playful and fun older sister who cared for her younger sibling, soonhyuk. the young girl would often sing him lullibies in order to get him to sleep, this was just the beginning of soonhee's relationship with singing and music in general. at 16 years old, in early 2010, soonhee auditioned for cube entertainment. she was accepted and began training. a few months later, cube revealed that they would be looking for girls to join their new group, apink, to be under their sub-division a cube. soonhee was originally considered to be in the group, but was dropped in favor of hong yookyung.

soonhee stayed at cube for nearly four years before leaving and joining a new company: new lines entertainment. at new lines, soonhee only trained for around a year before debuting in december of 2015 at 21 years old. she made her solo debut with the song "i wish" under the stage name, belle. the name was chosen as employees at the company couldn't help but compare soonhee to that of a peaceful, ringing bell. soonhee promoted for two months before ending promotions. after her debut, soonhee had no schedules at all. she wasn't going on any variety shows, nothing at all. frustrated, in 2017, soonhee filed a lawsuit against her agency and was able to end her contract with them. ever since then, soonhee has been a free agent.

soonhee has always been incredibly close to her little brother, soonhyuk. she constantly is fawning over her, showering him in her love and support. soonhee practically treats him like her own child. although, soonhyuk doesn't like that soonhee is constantly babying him; he loves his older sister, just not how she treats him. (fc: hwang minhyun)

despite not being able to get to know each other back in 2011, soonhee and eunji were able to befriend one another despite that later on. eunji often wishes that soonhee had debut with apink, instead of yookyung, as she knows that soonhee wouldn't have left like yookyung did. the two are really close, almost like best friends.

trainee life.

— training was hard on soonhee, but the number of times she was either rejected or forgotten about were even harder. soonhee was first in cube entertainment, where she was rejected from being in apink. that was extremely hard on her, even more so when she continued to train over the next four years and was doing absolutely nothing. then soonhee moved to new lines entertainment, where after one year, she was able to make her debut as "belle." but, even then, her five years of hard work were essentially for nothing. she was promoted and poorly managed when she could have been out there doing something for herself.
