2001—2009 • rowen jang woorim was born on march 13th, 2001 to a korean father, jang hongmin, and a filipino mother, rosa santos. she was the second child of two, her older brother richard being born back on august 10th, 1998. rowen was born in the capital of south korea, seoul. she grew up there for the longest time, attending a nearby elementary school whilst living with her paternal grandparents due to her family's financial issues. in 2009, when rowen was eight years old, the family packed up and moved to busan. this was quite shocking for the jang siblings but her parents finally found a stable place of employment there.

2009—2018 • after moving to busan, rowen felt extremely out of her element. there were times where she was teased for being what other kids called "half." being called "half" wasn't the worst though, it was woorim being told she had "dirty blood" by the elders in her small neighborhood. for a while, rowen really resented herself for not being the "perfect korean." it wasn't until she was sixteen that she discovered a new form of happiness; music. she was street scouted while visiting her grandparents in seoul by a noir media agent. she was recognized for her unique and cute appearance, sparking her to want to audition immediately. unlike most parents, rowen's were supportive and allowed her to audition. luckily for rowen, she made it.

the mother of the group, song dooshim • rowen's relationship with dooshim is best known for being sisterly. while rowen grew up with richard as her older brother, dooshim has always been the older sister she never had. it's dooshim who's almost always looking out for rowen and making sure she's keeping up with the others.
