— chen xiuying was born on november 12th, 1997 in shanghai, china. growing up as only child, xiuying was very much spoiled by her parents. she lived a sheltered life, not really seeing the bad parts and only the good. her family was overall fairly wealthy, never really struggling in terms of financial stability. from a young age, xiuying was placed in traditional chinese dance lessons. she learned traditional chinese dance for a majority of her life, so far. when xiuying was sixteen years old, she auditioned for sm entertainment and was accepted due to her mostly to her visuals rather than her dancing skills. xiuying only trained at the company for a year before transferring to another in 2014, known as united five media.

— at ufm, xiuying trained for another year before being added to a pre-existing girl group in late 2015. the girl group, blondies, had already debuted on june 25th, 2015 with "my oh my." however, the agency decided it would be great to add a foreign member, which was when xiuying was pulled into the group. despite moving in the members and training with them, xiuying didn't get along with any of them. she made her debut on november 14th, 2015 with the song "ddoddo."  after promotions ended for ddoddo, the company announced in early january of 2016 that the group was disbanding. though her initial reaction was saddness, xiuying couldn't help but feel relieved to be leaving the other members and begin a new chapter in her life. however, finding a new agency proved to be a challenge for xiuying. today, the twenty year old chinese woman lives in a share house and works as a translator and tutor for the chinese language. however, xiuying dreams of being an idol still exist and she's determined to debut once again.

trainee life.

— life as a trainee was incredibly hard on xiuying. starting off a major company like sm entertainment at only sixteen years old was rough as it is. but being a teen in a foreign country all by yourself makes it even harder. everytime xiuying felt like it was too rough, she had no one to lean or tell about her problems. this is part of the reason why she's become so private. after not being able to handle sm entertainment's training regime, xiuying joined united five media, ufm for short. the training at this agency was more laid back but the priveleges the trainees had were really lacking. not to mention that despite being added to a pre-existing girl group, xiuying only was an idol for two months before the company decided to disband the group all together. xiuying hopes that one day she will be able to make her debut, whether if it's in a group or as a soloist in south korea or even china.
