A surprising side to Minhee is the fact that she can be extremely flirty- to the point that some see it as erted or ual. It's not something she does on purpose, really, she's just so comfortable with herself and her body that she doesn't see any issues, especially with skinship. This can definitely lead to some issues down the road. Despite her being such a good hearted person, she can often be selfish. Meaning, if she's upset for some reason, it won't matter that other people might be upset. She's not going to empathize with them when no one is doing the same for her. Two things that get on people's nerves sometimes is her sponanious or abrupt nature- she'll drop what she's doing in order to run off and do something else. Maybe she's having a nice picnic with her friends, but suddenly she wants an iced coffee? She'll literally leave the picnic without telling anyone else and find the nearest cafe. Because of this, people can often find her strange, or think she's gone missing. (Sometimes her friends joke that they should put a tracking device on her). Minhee's obsessiveness is also something that can be a hamper to her relationship with others, because it can manifest in many different ways. Like running off for an iced coffee, or bugging someone until they share their problems, this can range anywhere from cute-but-bothersome to full on go-away-before-I-hit-you type of annoyance.
background On January 22nd, 1995, Minhee was born late in the night to parents Kim Won Hae and Song Dayoung. Being the couples first child, they were beyond ecstatic for her arrival. It was a joining of families that cemented their joining. Before the arrival of Minhee , there was tension between Won Hae's modern family and Dayoung's extremely traditional family. The grandparents on both sides held grudges, and disapproved of the couple (Won Hae's family because they supported being athiest, as well as western ideas likes lgbt, feminism, etc - while Dayoung's family because they were extremely christian, and strict to conservative ideals). Though they lightened up a little once the two got married, it wasn't until Minhee was born that they bothered to try and make nice. Despite the tension that still existed, the little family of three grew up in a loving and happy home. By the time she entered kindergarten at the age of 5 (2000), the family welcomed another little girl to the family, Song Eum. Although the couple were hoping for a boy in order to have one of each, they were happy to expand the family nonetheless. Things in Minhee 's childhood were pretty easy, the parents both had full time jobs that kept them stable financially. Thanks to this, after a couple more years, they finally welcomed a baby boy to the family, Chan Woo (2003). They needed to move houses because of their growing family, but instead of simply moving to the next neighborhood over, the family of five moved to Los Angeles, California. Won Hae and Dayoung were already half fluent after working in a tourist area, while Song Eum and Chan Woo adjusted easily since they were so young. Minhee struggled a little because she was eight, and didn't know any English.
Shortly after Minhee 's ninth (2004) birthday, she expressed her interest in music, and her parents signed her up for the school choir. She blossomed while being surrounded by music, and by the time she was eleven (2006) she was enrolled in a ballet class and a modern dance class as well. At twelve (2007), she joined a soccer league. At thirteen (2008), she joined the school cheer leading squad. Because of all this, she was fit and well toned, get quite a lot of attention from boys in the school. Although her parents weren't extremely strict, they didn't like this at all, and decided it was time for a change for the entire family. So, shortly after her fourteenth (2009) birthday, they picked up their lives from LA and moved to Seoul. It was a huge change, moving from a busy city in America to a tight apartment, surrounded by buildings and businesses, submerged once more in Korean culture. No matter the difference, Minhee continued with a new choir, a new modern dance team, and a new school cheer leading squad- and began showing interest in rapping. That next year, at age fifteen, Minhee performed with her dance team at a competition. They were well received, and made it to third place. She was beyond happy- making third for her first competition was great. Over the next year, until mid 2011, she participated in multiple competitions, often ranking second or third (once winning first). At age sixteen (2011), her best friend suggested she audition for an idol company. With the wary approval from her parents, she immediately began to audition. Minhee auditioned at YG, but she wasn't the right fit. JYP declined her because they were focusing on getting a boy group together (later became GOT7). Although SM wasn't at the top of her list, she was accepted after three auditions, because they were gathering a lot of girl trainees at that point to find a new group after EXO's debut. Personality On the surface, Minhee seems like nothing more than a genuine, wonderful person. There's no wall to break down, she's truly as outgoing and friendly as she seems.
