appearance. she's got very pale skin, a couple small beauty marks (one under her left eye, one on her chin). she's got a slender, slightly hourglass shaped body but small chest and hips making it subtle. because of her preportions, she looks "mostly legs". she has multple soft-brown birthmarks (one small one on her lower back, one large oval one on the back of her right leg, and a couple other barely noticable ones). she has slight freckles when she's in the sun for long periods of time.
style. her style is simple, mostly plain colors. she leans towards what could be called "punk" fashion, wearing mostly black. if not wearing a plain shirt, she loves wearing band-tees. yumi loves wearing loose clothes or comfortable things, like leggings and big sweaters. she doesn't stay away from skirts or dresses, but tends not to wear bright colors or too much pastel. yumi has a jean jacket that she's obsessed with.

personality. Yumi values her optimism most of all, because her life motto is about spreading positivity. That's how she got to where she is in life, by seeing the glass half full. It's a value her mother taught her, and one she holds on to dearly. In addition to this, she's a very genuine, generous person, willing to do anything to help others. A fun part of her is her witty side. Although she was never top of the class in school, she was always quick on her feet and had a cheeky response on the tip of her tongue. Although sometimes people find her too sarcastic, people generally enjoy her slightly dry sense of humor. That goes hand-in-hand with her sociable self, always making friends and talking to strangers. Even standing in a long line, she'll make friends with the people around her. One thing that has always been deeply ingrained into her is to be respectful, especially to elders. Even while in America, there was never a reason to be rude to others without reason.

On the bad side, Yumi can be quite bratty. It's something she never really grew out of, though she isn't nearly as bratty as she was when she was younger. This is mostly obvious when she crosses her arms over her chest like a child throwing a tantrum. Then there's her short-tempered flare. Although it doesn't always show up, it's most common when someone is giving her a hard time. She tries to keep herself from swearing, but sometimes, once that switch is flipped, she can't control anymore. It comes in bursts, the need of getting the explosion off her chest too great. But once it's gone, she's back to her normal self, though quieter. Besides that, though, she's extremely vague. She doesn't answer questions properly, not because she doesn't want to, but because she doesn't realize she's being too general. "What's your favorite food?" "I could eat all day." "...Eat what?" "Food." It gets on peoples nerves because they usually think she's messing with them, when she's not. Despite the fact that she's got a short fuse to her temper, when she's not calling someone out for their bull, she's extremely passive-aggressive. The whole attitude comes out at that point, arms crossed and lips pursed, words casual but laced with spite. It's a milder version of her short-tempered attitude. Lastly, though, is something most wouldn't expect. Between her "only positive vibes" attitude and the snapping at people, they wouldn't realize how delicate she really is. After blowing up on someone, she'll stomp away, but it's not so she can come down from her high, it's so she can cry in peace. Because her issues stem from personal, familial roots, it takes a toll on her that she hides away as best as she can.

background. Kwon Yumi is the only child of Kwon Sung Ho and Lee Minsun in Los Angeles, California. While in California, she went by the name Mimi Kwon, a name suggested by her maternal grandmother They were kind, loving parents that taught her both Korean traditions and American ones too. Despite her parents both being Korean transplants, she didn't learn much of the language until they planned to return to their home country. Three weeks after beginning to learn the language, at age four (1995), the small family picked up and moved to Gangnam. There were two reasons behind the move- first was because Minsun's mother had fallen ill, and second was because they had better chances saving money in Gangnam with a job offer from a technical company. Her father took the job, and Yumi finally began using her Korean name instead of Mimi. Things were more difficult than they expected with Minsun's mother passing away after only a few months, and Yumi struggling to adjust to the culture shock. From the death of her grandmother, she refused to answer to the name Mimi. Despite learning about Korea, it was extremely different than expected. At age nine, (2000) the family returned to Los Angeles. The family lived in Los Angeles for eight years, until Yumi was twelve (2003). By that time, she was very accustomed to the U.S. way of life, and felt it difficult to leave. Although she had kept up with Korean traditions and language at home, the overall culture was much different, and she preferred America.

Back in Korea, and not completely fluent in the language, Yumi had to do a lot of studying to catch up with her peers. Lucky for her, her mix of pretty looks and friendly personality, it didn't take long for her to find her way. She had always been a people-person, and it really showed. In 2009 (age 18), Yumi was in a group of girls that got accepted to participate as uncredited background actors in "high kick through the roof". Although she didn't have much as far as acting chops, she was very likable, and her co-actor, Lee Kwang Soo, suggested she go into show business. Sure, she had thought about doing it in the past as any teenage girl, but she wasn't particularly talented. The most experience she ever had was singing in her church choir while in Los Angeles. Because of his suggestion, she began taking beginner level classes in everything- singing, dancing, and acting. She wasn't the best, but she learned well. Lucky for her, when she approached Beau Entertainment in 2012 (age 22), she had a referral from a handful of the actors from "high kick". This (in addition to her audition performance) helped them see the best in her, and they accepted her as a trainee in the hopes of making her an actress. Soon they discovered she excelled primarily in variety and personable skills, and put her into small roles on variety shows to test her feet, so to speak.

love story. They met on set of a drama ("Love for a Thousand More"), where he was visiting his Winner member, Kang Seungyoon. Even though Yumi didn't have any lines, he took a shining to her. They became close friends during the filming, and when her short series of appearances were over, he asked for her phone number. Despite being older than him, she let herself flirt with him. At first it was nothing but simple friendship, with little jabs of flirtation here and there, but nothing serious on either side. It wasn't until they were with a group of people (the whole cast and staff from the drama) that they let anything happen. They both had a little too much to drink and ended up kissing at the group dinner. Thankfully, no one had seen it, because it was quite fierce. After that, they got an awkwardness between them that made it difficult for them to contact each other. Mino was the first one to call her after two weeks of extremely minimal texting. They began to talk more often after coming to terms with the fact that they were attracted to each other. Over time they became more open with each other, but they never made the decision to officially date. After a few months of "talking"/flirting, Yumi decided she had enough and wanted to properly date, or stop the flirtationship. They dated quietly for two months before she debuted with Eunoia. Because of her newly busy life, they broke up because they had very little time to interact. Even still, they remained friends and continued their flirty relationship. Eight months after her debut. and they both feel the same- like they are a couple but without the title. They're exclusively "talking" with each other and Mino hopes they can soon date properly again.

interactions. He likes to over little things, like her having a few freckles showing after she's been in the sun for a long time, or how her words get high pitched when she's excited or flustered. Flirting "just happens" (as he says), even though it always seems to be between just the two of them and never any other members of Winner or Eunoia. Whenever he tries to catch her off guard with a flirty remark or a bold tease, she manages to come back immediately with a witty remark that ends up making him the one off guard instead. It's as if they're playing a game of chess, or cat-and-mouse. Thankfully, most of their "couple-like" interactions happen when they're alone, or at least not in public. Like Mino pushing her hair behind her ear and out of her face, or her resting her shoulder on his head. When it's the two of them alone, they're usually on the quieter side, even talking softly and laughing softly. It just feels natural to them. While out with either groups members and friends, they easily mesh with the rest by brightening up, though he's usually more 'wild' than she is. The more time she spends with him and Winner, the more brave she becomes with her own 'wild' self.
