Shangri-La

So, hey guys, in case some of you don't know, VIXX just cameback today and their concept has a chinese vibe to it, check it out if you haven't, link's below:

If you scroll down to read the comments you can find a lot of comments screaming plagiarism, sth about copying Sistar's 'I Like That', Ten's 'Dream in a Dream', and that the melody/rhythm/song whatever you call it, sounds like Nu'est's 'Overcome', Dean's 'I'm Not Sorry', Got7's 'Never Ever', BTS' 'Cypher 4'.

And I just want to throw one word to all of those haters out there.

Ridiculous.

You know VIXX had been copied a lot of times in the past (Turkish rapper copying Dynamite, someone copying another song, I can't remember who it was or what song it was, think it was TFBoys), right? We starlights know the pain of our boys being copied from, and we defended them, did a lot of things to make the Turkish rapper regret (no offense to all Turkish people here if there is offensive material stated), and where were any of you so-called 'fans of kpop'? Sure, there are some fans from other fandoms demanding #justiceforvixx, and we're really thankful for you all, but just imagine, why would a group being copied from copy others?

Besides, about the whole Chinese concept being copied, it couldn't be more stupid. I'm Chinese myself, and you don't see any of us screaming bloody murder whenever any of our mainland stars doing ancient chinese concepts and kpop stars did it as well. Listen, the Chinese concept doesn't belong to anyone. It's the same thing about the cheerleader concept, where people were accusing TWICE's Cheer Up copying SNSD's Oh.

Like, if you think this through, why don't you just sue China. It'll be easier.

While it's true that the chorus does sound a bit like Dean's 'I'm Not Sorry', let's be realistic here. There are a lot of songs that sound similar. It's not like VIXX copied the whole song from start to finish, and they played chinese/oriental music in the back (guzheng <3), it's different, okay?

Nu'est's Overcome has a similar vibe to this song, that's true, but the arranging is different. The melody is also different. Don't ask me how because I'll write you a whole essay on this, but I can tell you that they are different. And Got7's Never Ever couldn't be more different, stop throwing songs around just because you support Got7 (again, no offense to I Got7s)

If you don't like VIXX, don't write comments that could hurt them because, believe it or not, they could read them. And they will, some of the members say they feel insecure over haters' comments. How would other fans of other groups feel if someone says your group is plagiarizing others?

I just searched 'VIXX plagiriasm' online, and I saw some results, including VIXX plagiarising TWICE and BTS.

Please stop. None of you and none of us starlights want our group to be well known for plagiriasm. VIXX are the kings of concept, and I hope they can continue doing amazing concepts and won't stop just because some of you write comments without thinking your actions through, or because you heard a single note, one or two lines of lyrics that are similar.

VIXX isn't very popular here (I'm not sure about overseas or Korea, but there's only one or two starlights in my school if I'm not mistaken), so please. It doesn't matter if they don't blow up, it doesn't matter if they don't have an extremely large fanbase, it doesn't matter if they don't have views immediately. Hakyeon (N) said he's proud of us Starlights because other celebrities praised us for behaving well in the awards or concerts, and he's really happy to be having such a good fandom.

Fandoms represent idols. I'm sure all of you would know that by now (and if you don't, you do), so some of you (I won't name them, but you know who you are) sometimes ruin your idols' images by behaving immaturely and lashing out randomly. Sometimes your idols behave inappropriately (which is fine because all of us are humans), and you turn a blind eye (it could be just fans pointing out something, doesn't have to be hate comments all over social media) but when someone says something, be it a joke or troll, you lash out to that poor person and accuse them of copying, disrespect and a lot of other crap.

Lastly, again, this Chinese concept doesn't belong to any of your idols. I know I sound extremely sensitive, maybe because I'm Chinese, but it doesn't. Here's a list of concepts if I have to really prove my point. I'm not starting a fanwar so I hope none of you misunderstand.

Cheerleader: Twice (Cheer Up) & SNSD (Oh)
Chinese: VIXX (Shangri-La), Sistar (I Like That), Ten (Dream in a Dream)
Clan/Group: Monsta X (All In), BTS (I Need U)
Convenience store: Zico (I'm you you're me), EXO (Lightsaber)
Planet: Blackpink (Whistle), EXO (Sing for You)
School: Seventeen, BTS

I hope all of you understands.

And if VIXX gets well-known for anything besides their concepts or members, I'll be posting a different article each day if I have to (jk but...seriously)

Finally,

Shangri-La refers to paradise in Eastern culture. Same as the concept of 'heaven' in Western culture. Sistar is singing about love, and Ten was doing a song about dreams.

(Please support VIXX <3)

(Note: if I had anything offensive written about or directed to other groups, please do let me know and I'll change my wording. This blog isn't about insulting other groups, so I hope there's no misunderstanding.)

LMAO. Even though this time Vixx's concept does focuses on Chinese concept, but it's actually about the AMERICAN and BRITISH's birthstones and birth flowers as we can see clearly from the MV from the various types of flowers and the stones that they sat on. Fans from other groups had always been delusional and won't even make a research and just lashed out at Vixx. They need to get another job. It's ridiculous that some of them even think that Vixx just plagiarized other people stuff but ironically it's actually the other way around. LMAO.
