What Should I Do? (>.<;)

When I started The Breakfast Club (back when it was just supposed to be a oneshot ^^; lol), I felt like I should write it in the present tense, so I did. And then when it turned into a chaptered fic, I naturally just continued writing it that way. But today someone pointed out to me that doing it that way can make the readers uncomfortable (>.<;) Sooo, I'd like to know what you think…

Thank you for your help!

You should write how you feel comfortable :) <33

Why the hell would it bother people? Honestly, when I read something I don't even notice the tense unless it starts switching for no particular reason (that's when it starts to bother me). If you're consistent you should be fine.

Then again, that's just my thoughts. Do whatever you think is right!

I think the way you write it right now is already amazing and I love it. but if you need more ideas, maybe we can give some?

In my opinion, as long as you're consistent, there shouldn't be any problems reading a story in present tense vs. in past tense.

I haven't read that story of yours. but like the others here said, write in whichever tense is comfortable for you. Except for that someone, if your other readers don't have any issue with it, then I don't see any problem here :P
Good luck with your story ^^

Keep your own cool style! It suits you :)))))
I love the saying: 'Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind'...

Good luck, my friend.

Hey, just write it with your own style. Go with whatever you comfortable with. Maybe that "someone" was the only one thinks that way but not your other readers. It's your story so write it with comfort and happiness. If that someone really don't like your style, that person should stop reading. Don't worry bc you only lost one ungrateful reader. Plus, that person was an idiot. If that person thinks that way, then that person should write a story like what he/she wants.

That person don't have the right to judge you. The only person who should judge you is your own self, not someone else. So, don't worry about anything and continue to write bc it's your passion. Stay writing with your own style and don't change it bc you may be uncomfortable with it and having a writer's block.

Good luck with you story then! Fighting ♥

go with whatever you're the most comfortable with!!!! it might seem weird to u to see past/present tense mixed but mose people don't notice. do with whatever u feel most comfy with

Write it however you're most comfortable with. If it's more natural to write it present tense do so if not do it in past tense. As a writer you should write how you want not what others dictate you to write. It'll feel like a job to you. You might not like writing anymore and eventually give it up if you change your writing style to something you don't enjoy writing with.

Sweetheart, baby, cushu rumin, coa, the piglet to my pooh, it is your story. You can write it however you want it and in whatever point of view you want it. Just because it bothered one, and I mean literally one that pointed it out, does not necessarily mean that bothers the rest of the readers. If so, then people have never read a novel; just assuming. Novels by famous authors are mostly written in a first person point of view and I have not heard of a person saying that they do not read that novel because it is in a fist person point of view. It's absurd and a weird complaint, but that is just my opinion.

Whichever you're comfortable writing in, it doesnt really matter ^^.

It doesn't matter to me lol. I mean, I constantly switch between the two so I find it cool either way. It really just depends on your own preference, so if you want to keep writing that way, then do so :)

I've written in both past and present, and present has a whole different, but pleasant, feel to it. To be honest, I didn't even realize it was written in the present tense, and now I'm going to have to check lol. I personally think writing in the present is a little more difficult because you sorta naturally slip back into typing: said, did, was, etc. Or at least I do haha.
