First Impressions

What has been other's first impression of you? How accurate are they usually?

Most people have said they thought I was unfriendly or haughty....lol..I don't think so but I can see why they would think that. I'm usually reserved and I won't say much until I'm more familiar with you.

One of my best friends told me she thought I looked scary too but that was because she was interviewing for a job with me. I've heard others say that to me later too and I don't get it because I always smile at them. Is it because I look at them too intently?

MY SITUATION IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOURS! OK.. Unfriendly/weird/cold/quiet...
People ALWAYS ask me "why are you so quiet?" And will just give them an awkward-laugh, but I will be thinking 'because I don't even know you!' Haha I know I am mean, but as I aged (lol) I tend to stop wanting to make friends anymore.. no reasons, just lack the motivation to do so :/

My close friends have told me once that they had thought I was unfriendly and arrogant. And it's true that I may seem that way, because I've never initiated a talk first. I don't have enough confidence to do that. So, when someone starts a chat, I usually hace really short answers which may the reason why they thought I was arrogant. However, it doesn't take that long for me to warm up to a person.

That happens to me too! For me it's because I think I have eyes that can easily make me look more scary?

I usually don't ask for people's first impression of me because I am too self-aware and too critical. I've been told I look picky once though. Which is probably not untrue. I also have an ability to make elderly people smile and feel comfortable and yeah - I think I appeal to the elderly population (idk if that's a good thing tbh) because of my round face, I think I resemble "a grandchild" to them, someone to care for and trust.
Oh, yeah, I've been told that as well - that I'm easy to trust. That it's near impossible not to trust me.

But in my professional life I think people often see me as weak and incompetent when they first meet me.
