appearance ; natsuki is pretty well-muscled after all he's been dancing his entire life but he's definitely not bulky or anything. he does have somewhat defined abs and biceps though and he is the very definition of a 'bagel boy'. his face looks pretty youthful but that might be because he's always smiling. he has a really cute eye-smile and it's something that his fans are always commenting on. due to his age, he still has the roundness in his cheeks and some say it might never go away so his face looks youthful but his body is something that make people very sad that he's still a minor.

natsuki doesn't have any tattoos but he does have exactly one ear piercing. it's his right ear and just a stud but it is probably one of the most expensive things he owns because even though it's just a stud, it has a fairly sizeable diamond in the middle that's set in white gold. it was a gift from his aunt and even though he tried to refuse, his aunt insisted as a way to always 'take her with him' wherever he went.

 

style ; natsuki doesn't exactly follow the trends but he dresses pretty decently. if an explosion of colours is fashionable because you won't catch wearing anything grey or god forbid black. he likes to dress mostly in pastels with a few bright colours thrown in here and there. luminescent skinny jeans are his thing and he has one in every colour. his go-to casual outfit is a pair of bright skinny jeans, a pair of high-top sneakers with graphic print and a top or hoddie in pastel with animal print. he really loves his kitten sweater and shirt with a koala-pattern on his collar. he's not much for accessorising because he likes to keep things comfortable but if he does accesorise, you can bet that it will be animal related (but no prints because he doesn't really like leopard print or zebra print or anything like that).

personality ; 
natsuki is a mischievous and cheeky person who likes to play tricks on other people. It's all completely harmless of course (natsuki wouldn't ever dream of actually hurting anyone). His tricks/pranks are all very simple and in the world where pranks involve pretending to shoot a child in front of unsuspecting onlookers, it's a breath of fresh air to see his whoopie cushions and joy buzzers. natsuki is a very outgoing and sociable person who is always joking around. his jokes are so bad and his puns even worse and they make everyone groan and laugh at the stupidity at the same time. natsuki is well aware of the fact that his jokes are terrible but hey, in the end they still make people laugh so it's a win either way right?

he is also a rather loud person. he's not someone to shy away from the camera but at the same time, he doesn't go out of his way to hog all the attention. he's someone who is always talking or humming or muttering, anything to fill the air. you could get him started on a 10 minute long speech by prompting him a little. of course, he knows that sometimes he has to shut up (for example on shows) but even then he isn't the picture of the perfect respectful idol. you see, natsuki is a very energetic person who usually channels his excess energy into talking but when he can't, he gets very restless. this is probably why he was so bad at school because he hates sitting still and being forced to listen to subjects that he couldn't care less about. He's an active person who likes to be running around not cooped up in some boring classroom.

a lot of people tend to compare natsuki to a child. in a way, it's good, he's someone who is impossible to hate because his smile is infectious. he's always smiling, even if he's angry he'll still have that permanant smile which would looks creepy to people who don't know that natsuki can't not smile. the only time he doesn't is when he's sad and the amount of guilt you feel by seeing that smile disappear is enough to make most people try to be friends with him. at the same time, natsuki has the maturity of a seven year old. he's single-minded, whatever he wants, he has to get. this is good in a way because that means he's very determined about working towards his goals but at the same time, it makes him very selfish. natsuki doesn't understand that things can't always go his way and it might be because his angelic looks have always caused people to indulge him in the past.

natsuki is a very impulsive person. there are few things that he thinks about carefully and right now, dancing is the only thing that he's planned and worked towards, step by step. but when it comes to anything else, natsuki is the type to jump off a cliff without thinking about the bottomless abyss below. natsuki is a hot-headed person who is also very competitive. just say that you don't believe that natsuki can't do something and he will do it. this makes him very reckless because no matter what it is, he will go out of his way to prove them wrong. and this is very counterproductive at most times. see, along with the fact that natsuki doesn't think, he's also kind of dumb. after all, there was a reason why he so bad at school. he could maybe, 1% chance actually be smart if he tried but natsuki only cares about sports and dance. he's definitely an airhead and which is why when he's challenged to do certain things, he doesn't think about the consequences before getting all fired up.

background ; natsuki was born in a small village on the outskirts of the already small city of joetsu. they're a coastal village where sea was the trade and people received basic education and then worked in manual labour for the rest of their lives. it was a simple village but it was very tight-knit and harmonious as everyone knew everyone. it was also, in a way conservative in that natsuki's father marrying someone who, not only was out of their village, but was also not japanese, was one of the biggest scandals of the decade. natsuki attended school in joetsu's cbd and even though he was never the best in class, his parents didn't mind because neiher of them really cared about education.

when natsuki was around six, his mother gave birth to his little brother. haruto was, a bit of a handful. he was born with cerebral palsy and combined with other mental delays, he was someone that his parents needed to take care of all the time. it was at this point that his aunt(his father's older sister), suggested that natsuki moved to iive at her place in shizuoka so that his parents could focus more of their time taking care of their other disabled son. of course, natsuki would be able to visit his parents and stay with them for periods of time but for as long as necessary, his aunt would be natsuki's guardian. it took some argument but eventually natsuki's parents agreed.

in shizuoka, natsuki had a lot more options than he did in his seaside village and once he mentioned that he liked to move and he liked music, his aunt instantly enrolled him in the finest dance classes that money could buy as well as enrolling him in a 1-12 private performing arts academy. you see, his aunt was someone who didn't want to stay in the village like the rest of her family and had moved out to bigger cities and was currently very rich as well off. natsuki and his aunt grew very close and eventually, natsuki came to see his aunt as more of a mother that his birth mother ever was to him. he couldn't blame her of course, his mother had haruto to take care of but in the end, his aunt treated him like the child she could never have.

when natsuki was 13 and visiting his mother's family in korea, he attended one of jyp's auditions just for fun but didn't expect to actually be accepted as a trainee. it took a while to convince his aunt to let him stay but eventually she relented and just vowed to take a hundred times more flights to korea than she usually would have. she also initially refused to let him stay in a dorm but in the end, natsuki was only 13 and living alone in a too big apartment all on his own would have been scary. despite his young age, all his years of dancing paid off and even though he at basically everything else, he was pretty much slated to instantly be put in a boy group as soon as he was old enough.

however, when he was 15, during one of his dance routines, he suddenly heard a loud pop before excruciating pain burst from his left knee. it was found out that he had torn his ACL and given that his life was very active and he would be doing a lot of dancing in his future, he elected to undergo surgery in order to repair his knee. it usually would have only taken 6-9 months to recover from ACL surgery but natsuki, being an impatient idiot, ended up making it worse which meant that it took him over a year to recover completely and he was lucky to get away with the full range of movement. at the beginning of his injury, he told jyp that he would return after he recovered but they told him that they didn't want to wait that long for him to recover and they may as well spend that time training up someone else to his level. his aunt cleared his debt for him but it was still very upsetting for him and he moved back to japan for the length of his recovery. when he recovered, he decided to try again with the auditions but after a string of scandals, many companies didn't want to hire him and only kingdom could see his potential.

- stress baking: exactly what it says on the tin
- smiling even when he's angry: not because it's creepy, because when he's angry he just doens't know how to react because it's such a rare emotion that he can't help but just smile
- lying: he's a horrible liar and everyone can tell when he does because his voice goes an octave higher and he can't meet you in the eye
- nervous: if you thought he talked a lot before then think again because when he's nervous e.g. before a show, he talks at the speed of light and it's actually impossible to understand
- excited: whenever he gets fired up, he always shouts 'oooohhhh i'm getting fired upppp!!!!!' whilst doing a goku pose. it's something he does mostly for comedic relief in the beginning but it kinda stuck.

hobbies ; 
- Video games: he's a big fan of story-based Rpg games and recently his favourite is 'undertale'. he doesn't mind mmorpgs and he's fine with fighting cames such as mortal kombat and super smash bros but he definitely doesn't like horror
- volleyball: when he didn't play dance, he was playing volleyball for fun as a wing spiker
- baking: natsuki can't cook for but he can bake desserts as long as they don't require using a stove because he can and will burn water

- natsuki is a cheeky who teases all of his bandmates. especially woojin which natsuki loves to poke fun at his girly looks (clearly he has a death wish)
- whenever natsuki tries to get out of something, he pretends he can't understand the korean you're speaking. 80% of the time, it's bull
- he speaks korean with a noticeable accent but it's been improving
- he really likes all of muses' songs (love live) and he sings them all the time. his favourites are sore wa bokutachi no kiseki, snow halation and future style

aunt | kirihara sakurako | 40 | fashion designer | natsuki thinks of his aunt as more of his mum than his mum. his aunt raised him since he was six and has treated him with love and affection. she is unable to have children herself due to an accident many many years ago. she is someone who accepts the fact that natsuki will never be a genius but expects him to be passionate about whatever else that he chooses. to other people, she may come across as rather strict and harsh but she simply wants the best for her nephew.

father | kirihara kiyoshi | 44 | fisherman | natsuki's father is someone who has rather traditional views and is conservative but still married a korean woman anyways. he doesn't approve of natsuki's choice of career and expects natsuki to take over the family business but he's slowly starting to understand that natsuki wouldn't only be stifled in that sort of future. he loves his sons but is always too busy with the other one.

childhood friend | shirase sayuri | 16 | student | sayuri is someone who lives in the same village that natsuki used to live in and her family is very close friends with natsuki's. in fact, it was often said that sayuri and natsuki should marry in order to bring their families closer together. sayuri is a soft-spoken and gentle girl whose dream is to be a teacher. she has a small crush on natsuki but eventually she'll get over it because she'll realise that a country girl like her won't be able to keep up with the lifesyle that natsuki keeps.

trainee life ; in general international trainees aren't very well-treated by korean trainees at major companies and suffice to say, natsuki's half-korean heritage wasn't enough to grant him an exception. it's not that he was bullied but he definitely didn't have many friends and it was there that his reputation as someone who smiles through thick and thin was born. after all, nothing pisses off wannabe bullies more than when it's shown that their comments don't affect him at all. thankfully, his roommate was a pretty decent guy once they got to know each other. they weren't friends but they had a solid partnership, an agreement with each other and that was all that was needed.

at kingdom, natsuki put more effort into getting people to like him. he doesn't really like it when he's ignored and he figured that if he tried his hardest to be outgoing, then maybe he wouldn't be so alone this time. he worked really hard and often pushed himself beyond what he was capable of and in the beginning, risked tearing his acl twice before he was forcibly told to stop practising.

Debt scandal
as you know, all trainees have a debt to their company who trained them and the debt is paid off when the trainees debut and start raking in money. given that natsuki was essentially kicked out of the company, his debt was repaid surprisingly quickly. the bully trainees started a rumour that perhaps natsuki had paid-off his debt in another, more physical manner. it was completely false of course but ion rumours quickly spread and natsuki was one of the more well-known trainees out of the lot. of course, natsuki then came out and said that his aunt had paid off the debt but the damage was already sizeable by then.
