Even though she is pretty, she is usually characterised as being mannerless because of her personality, no one can deny her sharp beauty. 

 

style » Areum wears dark colours with her hanbok. The colours consist of red, blue and black. She usually just buns her hair up when wearing these, but she will ocasionally braid her hair. She sometimes wears a durumagi with her hanbok but other than that, she doesn't like dressing up especially fancy.

     Areum is known to be very shrewd, catching things and details that would otherwise be uncaught by the normal individual. Due to this, she can usually guess a person's whole personality accurately just from observing him or her for an hour or two. Even though Areum is rude and insensitive however, doesn't mean she isn't nice. She is very thoughtful, putting in a lot of thought and care whenever she wants to do something nice for her friends or family and shocking them in the process with her thoughtfulness. She only shows her care and generosity at the rarest of times, but it is still there. She doesn't like showing them as she symbolises them as weakness but she likes taking care of people, and worries endlessly over her friends and family. She will not cease to take care of her loved ones until she is absolutely sure that they are fine. Her generosity is the most commonly seen as she tends to give a lot of 'second' chances, even when she is angered. She is merciful, despite what other's may think, and can give everything she has to a stranger if they need it. Yes, that's just how generous she is. 

 

     She is confident and cool even in the bad situations. Even if everyone else is panicking, she will take control of the situation and manipulate her cards accordingly until they are not in danger anymore. 

 

      Areum is widely known for her rudeness and insensitivity. A lot of people usually question if she really is her father's daughter because of their contradicting personalities. Calling her blunt would be an understatement, she is straight up insulting the person even if she knows them or not. If she sees or hears something she does not like, she is not afraid to say why she doesn't like it and can insult them on personal levels, causing strangers to have a lot of complaints to her family. She has a low EQ, and doesn't actually know what is a bad subject for a person and will insult them on things that are considered taboo subjects. She is stubborn and it is hard to make her admit that she is wrong. It is easier to make her show her soft side then make her admit she is wrong, and that's saying something. Areum is also very calculative, knowing exactly what makes a person tick and how to get what she wants from them. That person doesn't usually even realise what she's doing until it's too late. Her calculative nature paired with her shrewdness can make a very dangerous pair, even to the most dangerous criminal.

background » She grew up in a caring and familial household in a small town. Areum was neglected as an only child. Her mother was away frequently on a travelling job and despite Areum's caring and compassionate father, Sung Min was often away with work. It was only when she was 16 years old that they both retired and started paying more attention to her. However, she was beyond help at that moment. Her years of loneliness made her blunt and rude, and because of her negative traits, she was avoided by her classmates and children around her age. Thus resulting in a very lonely Areum. Because of the fact that there was not really any parental figure in her life, she wasn't taught manners or how to be sensitive, resulting in her low EQ. She had only one childhood friend all these years, Park Young Jin. They grew up together and are very close. Her parents only started spending time with Areum when they retired and were very sorry about how they treated Areum. They paid more attention to her and their family was closer than it ever was. The Lee household also started spending time with the Park family, resulting in two very close families. 

 

Due to her loneliness all those years, she isn't used to trusting and being trusted by other people, and finds it foreign nature. She is barely even used to her parents and Young Jin's family treating her nicely. She is very awkward and stiff when encountered with nice and out going people, only used to being with Young Jin because of how many years they were together as friends. 

 

Lee Areum was in school with Young Jin taking their examinations when the delegate was being decided. The kingdom had announced that they were choosing their delegate through lottery. Due to the low chance of someone of their age being chosen, Areum's school chose to continue on with the examinations. Areum was almost done with the first paper of her exam when the principal walked in the classroom, talking and whispering to the teacher-in-charge, stealing glances at Lee Areum. Areum's hand began to get clammy, her heart in . She was getting scared, but she didn't show it. Young Jin looked at her worriedly, sensing the troubling situation at hand. "Lee Areum, Principal Jung wants to talk to you immediately. Hurry up now." Her teacher announced, shooing Areum out of the classroom. Areum stood up and went outside the class, Young Jin following her with his eyes. Her principal stared at her with a menacing glare and Areum stared back with a cool stare, wondering why he had called her. 

 

 That was how she was chosen as a delegate and how she was informed. She never expected to be a delegate, but pushed her fears away and dealt with the situation appropriately. She told her parents and Young Jin and they each gave their own advice to her, telling her what to expect, what to be careful of and what not to expect.

She is also a skilled pirate, but long retired. She still has her same skills but due to her old age, she can't fight or do her work as well.

 

  

 » Park Hoseong | 44 | father | Cheeky, infuriating, sly and trustworthy | Stay at home husband | Hoseong is equally as cheeky as Jimin. He is very infuriating and sly, getting along well with his son, Jimin, and often annoying the girls of the household. Despite that Hoseong is a very understanding and empathatic father to his children, and they know that they can always go to him for help. He is still in good shape to be a pirate but retired to spend more time with his family.

APPEARANCE » Jimin is standing at a full height of 175 cm and 60 kg. Even though he is quite short, he likes being his height as he is not too tall for Areum. Jimin has a cute, baby-ish face while he has a very muscular body. His light brown eyes shine a lot, because of happiness or excitement, no one really knows. He likes styling his hair a lot, making sure it stands up so that he looks taller. 

 

STYLE » He likes dressing up. Like, a lot. He likes dressing up in formal wear, even if it is a very casual meet-up. He usually wears pants and a long sleeved shirt, or a formal hanbok.

BACKGROUND » There's really nothing to Jimin's background. Jimin's family was a really loving family and they spoilt each other with their love. Even though all of them show their love differently, there's no shortage of love in this family. The children were taught piracy by their parents and how to hold in their liquor, especially in a kingdom like Busan. Because of how outgoing Jimin is, he has been popular with his friends since young until now. His popularity never stopped, instead it grew. He could make friends with anyone and everyone, even the cold people. Even if Jimin's negative side showed a lot, people put up with it and dismissed it as 'un-normal' Jimin. This irked Jimin, the fact that they didn't acknowledge his negative side. Jimin didn't consider himself very nice and cheerful all the time, even admitting to himself that he was a jerk sometimes. Because of this, Jimin started to provoke people and to annoy them whenever he got angry, just to get someone to react to him, to get someone to shout at him instead of speak gently to him when he didn't deserve it, not at all. 

 

The delegate choosing was being announced that day. It was not by lottery or high status like other kingdoms, instead it was through popularity. Jimin wasn't expecting to be chosen and thought it was someone else. Instead, when the person announced his name alongside his partnering delegate, he was shocked while his family congratulated him on presenting the country of Busan internationally as it was a huge honour. One that Jimin doubted he deserved but he didn't complain. 

 

LOVE STORY » Areum and Jimin met during the Gathering as Gyeonggi-Do's delegate and Busan's delegate. The first months they spent with each other was torturous. They kept on arguing with each other about petty and simple things. They made up sarcastic nicknames for each other, 'Jagi' for Areum and 'Haetbit' and 'aengmusae' for Jimin. They were always teased by other delegates to be the first ones to fall in love with each other, which Jimin and Areum found ridiculous at times. However, when the both of them were left alone by the other delegates, they talked things out and they decided to stop being childish and start being civilised. Due to this agreement they had going on, they moved from enemies to acquaintences. Both of their personalities were completely different, so it was weird to imagine both of them as a couple but at the same time, it wasn't too far from the truth. Due to their opposing personalities, they worked well together and even found some similarities to each other. Soon, they found that they started pairing up more often and started talking to each other about their problems more and more, and soon, they started to like the other because of the time they spent together and also just because. After they started liking each other however, their interactions never changed much. They still bicker except now it's to tease the other because of love and endearment, not because of dislike and hate. They started to accept the others opposing personality and find it cute and endearing like how Jimin loves how Areum is very cool usually but deep inside, there is a hint of a girly personality that will blush and get flustured easily. Areum loves how outgoing and loud Jimin is, finding his cheerful personality adorable. 

 

Jimin requested to talk to Areum privately and when they were alone, Jimin told Areum about his feelings about her from the start of The Gathering. About how she annoyed him to no end, then they agreed to stop arguing, how they started talking to each other more because of how different they were, about how they discovered that they were more alike than they thought and about how much he found that he liked her. "I really like you, Lee Areum. I don't know what I'd do if you weren't my girlfriend." Jimin said, frowning. (Not exactly said like this, but around this area?? Like you can change the phrases)

 

"Who said I wasn't your girlfriend? Stupid aengmusae." Areum muttured, looking away with a furious blush on her face. 

 

On special days like their anniversary and Valentine's day, they get gifts for each other and stop bickering about stupid things for that day, choosing only to talk to each other with care and love. These days are the quietest for the couple and are usually spent cuddling or hugging, with no loud voices or ridiculous insults. They also take this chance to apologise for anything they said to each other recently, telling each other about how they didn't mean it and telling each other how much they love the other. 

 

There was drama when Jimin found out that Areum had a very close male friend who was very fond of her indeed. When Jimin met Young Jin, he started hating him even more. Jimin already didn't like the sound of him from when Areum talked about him but Jimin also didn't like his face. The rivalry between Young Jin and Jimin lasted quite a while since Jimin refused to talk to him for a long time. However when he finally did, he found out that Young Jin was in fact not straight.
