personality : Hyung Min has often been compared to the energizer bunny. He always seems to be full of energy even at odd times. He's always ready to jump in and help people. For the most part this is a good thing. He's able to keep up with all of his activities and bring some joy to others. It can become annoying to others at times because he always seems to be energetic. People just need a break some times. Luckily he's playful and this contributes to him being a natural when he's being filmed. He lights up and will gladly jump into any challenge or game given to them. He tries to include others to make sure they have as much fun as him. He doesn't take things too seriously and he isn't all that competitive. As long as they have fun that's all that matters. His playful nature leads to him being a bit more mischievous. When he's left to his own he tends to concoct plans and set out to involve other band mates. It can range from becoming the background of his band mate’s phone to more thought out pranks. His intentions are good, but sometimes he doesn't realize that the joke has gotten a little out of hand. At times he finds himself apologizing when he simply wanted to make someone smile.

He tends to be organized in most aspects of his life. He likes when things are organized and easy to find. His living space if always organized and neat to the point of being a little scary at times. He'll be the first to admit that he gets carried away and sometimes gets irritated by others being less neat. Luckily his group mates tend to help him mellow out and not go crazy about cleaning or messes. He is able to direct it more towards being able to make sure everyone has the things they need like extra water bottles or band aids. He's also fairy efficient when it comes to getting things done. This might be linked to his organization. He is able to find things and accomplish things quickly. Unfortunately he is also a perfectionist. He wants things to be perfect and sometimes he gets a little carried away. Not everything can play out perfectly even if it's arranged just so. This usually leads to unnecessary stress. If one were to dig deeper into it they might find that he associates organization and perfection with love. Due to a strict upbringing with less than understanding parents he's used to making things perfect to gain their acceptance. He continues this with other people even though they tend to be more open to imperfection.

He often finds himself conflicted when it comes to secrets. He's a very curious person. He wants to know what's going on with people and if there's something he can do about it. It's usually well intentioned even if he's often a little too nosy. Unfortunately he tends to be a rather secretive person as well. He doesn't want to disclose things about his past or the nature of his uality for fear that he'll be punished for it. This results in him being rather good at keeping secrets. It's good when the secret belongs to someone else, but it's harmful when he finds himself unable to open up. The only thing that manages to balance out these is his need to be fair with everyone. He wants to be able to treat everyone with the respect that they deserve and not based on how her personally feels about them. He's good at settling arguments because he makes his decision based on the facts and less on his personal feelings. Because of this he reasons that if he wants to know the secrets of others he has to be willing to give away one of his own secrets in return. With that in mind he's able to decide if he wants to know simply to know or it's important that he knows. For the most part this keeps him out of trouble, but nobody's perfect.

Something that people find surprising about him is that Hyung Min tends to be a little erse. They expect him to be innocent due to his tendency to sleep with stuffed animals and his more cute nature. This trait is not as prevalent as some of his other flaws, but his mind often runs off to the gutter. His first thought is often the more erted option and he has a supply of dirty jokes at the ready. He tries to keep them to himself, but when he's comfortable with others it tends to come out without thought. Of the things that he is open about this is one of them. He's not scared about talking about ual knowledge and experiences that he thinks are normal. He's even up for giving relationship advice as long as he doesn't have to reveal he's dated guys before.

Hyung Min tends to be rather clumsy. Even with soccer training and a few years of dance training he finds himself tripping over anything in his father even if it's his own feet. He doesn't break things as often as he trips, but people still have to keep breakable things well out of his way. He had to invest in a fairly thick phone case so he wouldn't have to keep replacing his phone. He has to practice harder on his dancing to make sure he is able to perform well without falling all over himself on stage. He still manages to embarrass himself, but at least it's not while dancing. He's also determined. He throws himself into whatever task he is given and he doesn't like to give up on something if he doesn't have to.  

background : Hyung Min was born in Jeju City to the Bae family. His parents were heavily involved in the school system. Mrs. Bae was the head of the school board while his father was a principle of one of the high schools. They placed a great deal of emphasis on their children doing well so they could serve as a good example. It would reflect badly on them to have delinquent children. Hyung Min did well to follow the rules that were set for him. He dedicated his time to learning and studying for a while, but it wasn't something he was as passionate about. His school club was soccer, and he enjoyed the sport throughout his childhood. Yet there was still something missing from his life. He wanted to feel like he was able to enjoy something without having to be good at it. With soccer he felt as if he had to do well and that took some of the joy out of it. In high school a friend dared him to try out for the choir. It was supposed to be a joke since he had never sung for an audience before, but the teacher saw potential in him and asked him to join the choir. Hyung Min was surprised but he agreed. Singing quickly took over his time. His parents insisted that he stay in soccer as well. This ultimately came back to bite them. He found it difficult to juggle all of these things, but he managed as well as he could. Staying ion the soccer team proved to be worth it when he met Min Ho the captain on the high school soccer team. Hyung Min had never really thought about dating another boy, but he found himself drawn to the elder. When Min Ho asked him out he said yes, and they started to date in secret.

The Baes were a rather religious family. They went to church every week and insisted that they pray for basically everything. The church they attended was fairly accepting, but the Baes were not. To them one of the only things worse than homouality was failure. When they caught their only son kissing another boy underneath the bleachers after a soccer match they decided that this was unacceptable. They told him that he would either have to follow the cure they had for him or get out. They expected him to pick to follow their rules, but for the first time he decided to go his own way. He knew that if he stayed with them he would be forced into something he didn't love. He wanted to be free to follow his own back, so at the age of fifteen he packed up his few belongings and headed for Seoul. Seoul was harder to make his way in than he had expected. It was far more busy and crowded than Jeju had been. He found himself sleeping in odd places and singing for money. He didn't make much money, but some nicer old ladies would give him food so he wasn't going to starve even though he was hungry often. He wanted to go to school again, but he didn't have anyone to sign paperwork for him. He doubted they'd let some random kid walk in with no sign of parental support and allow him to start attending classes.

This went on for several months until one day he was approached by a man that claimed to be with an entertainment company called Paper Planes. Hyung Min had never heard of it, but there were so many that he wouldn't be surprised if it was real. The man suggested an audition and if he was interested a place to stay. Hyung Min was skeptical, he had seen this many times on crime shows, so he agreed to check out the audition before accepting the housing offer as well. After Paper Planes checked out and he managed to get an audition he agreed to stay with the man. He was surprised when the company accepted him, but the reality of the situation didn't hit him until he sat down for his first home-cooked meal in over half a year. He started to cry part way through the meal and the man, No Jung, let him spill his heart out to him. Nojung offered to find a way to help him go to school once more causing Hyung Min to cry harder. He swore that he would find a way to pay No Jung back for all of his kindness. He'd never felt so lucky in his life. He really had taken his family for granted and now he was determined to work hard to achieve his dreams and make No Jung proud of him.
