Pray (Play) for Paris (inspired by frxstedsoul)

I've just read frxstedsoul's blog post rant (you can read it here - http://www.asianfanfics.com/blog/view/1082626) about Chorong's use of the word "Play" instead of "Pray" as in "Pray for Paris".  This isn't to jump onto the rant.  This is to get something constructive out of it.

People post "Pray for ........" to a lot of disasters.  What if we actually had "Play for ......" instead?  We could organise a number of sporting or gaming events across the world, with sponsorships or ticket fees or something, and donate that money to disaster relief charities like Red Cross and Red Crescent, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), Oxfam, UNICEF and many others.  So "Play for Paris" actually became a thing.

And we could reuse it every time there was a disaster, as well as "Pray for [wherever]".  We could do that small thing that we are probably fortunate enough to do - donate money - and help people who face these kind of disasters.  We could help the victims and their families in a practical way, as well as asking our chosen diety to watch over them or take them into Heaven.

What do you think?

I didn't think about it that way and that's actually pretty interesting... it sounds like something we could actually do and I like it ^^
