DESCRIPTION ♡ + » you only live once. yes, soojin does believe in that saying. for as long as she could, soojin brightly faces the world ahead of her. ever since she was young, soojin has already been the center of attraction in her family due to her bubbliness and friendliness towards her cousins and any other members of the family. she was even named the 'undying human-sized battery' of one of her uncles. she never let herself feel down for long. + » you reap what you sow. a person must not always rely on luck, that's what soojin has always believed in. sometimes or should I say most of the time, it's always the hardworker who succeeds in life and so for her, doing your two hundred percent to every thing you do is still the best way to reach for your dreams. .

BACKGROUND ♡
lee soojin was born mavie roy-lee in seoul, south korea and the youngest daughter of a korean sergeant, lee seokmin and a canadian university professor, leah roy. they are a family of four including her 2 year older brother raven roy-lee or lee seokjin in korea. their parents met in busan, south korea where both were chosen as volunteers [lee as a town police and roy as a temporary high school teacher] for a whole school year. and since she's a foreigner, their father's family offered her temporary shelter to live in for the year. during those times, they developed feelings for each other. unfortunately, ms. roy went back to canada afterwards. the two continued their relationship despite the distance between them, and when ms. roy visited back to korea, they got married after a long year of long-distance relationship. they had their first child seokjin next, and when he was born, the now mrs. lee decided to stay there for the good of their family. 2 years later, they had soojin. in 1999 her mother decided to take them with her to canada to make them citizens of her home country. at first, their father was against it knowing that he would be away from his children for long. after all, he just couldn't ditch his duty to fulfill his desires. it was a week long discussion until he finally agreed. soojin was 2 years old when they left for canada. however, just like how they planned it, their father flies to canada to visit them once in a while [for a week] during his given vacations [twice a year every june and december]. since her mother was busy working as a university professor, soojin and seokjin were taken under the care of their grandmother in alberta, canada. it was tough for the siblings for their grandmother is not an easy one, she's very strict when it comes to them. they were molded to become more polite around others, they learned to eat quietly in front of any meals, and they could only be the bubbly them whenever there are family reunions or family meetings. but the siblings love their grandmother very much. she was the sweetest and the most thoughtful person they have ever met despite being strict, she used to take them to every amusement parks and tour them around canada during the weekends. she really took good care of them, she was very lovable. unfortunately in 2006, soojin's grandmother died due to heart attack. soojin and her family moved to korea back in 2008. it was not really related to her grandmother's death but rather it was because of her father's request of seeing them. after all, they have already fulfilled their 5 year residency in alberta to become official citizens of canada. it was not easy for soojin and her brother to adjust in korea. she had a hard time communicating with her classmates when she attended a middle school that uses korean language as their medum of communication. thankfully, her parents and brother, were there to help her. and so for 7 years and still counting, soojin slowly learns the language very well. soojin spent most of her life in canada and so she's not that close with her father. if I'd rate their relationship before, I'd say a 6/10. nevertheless, he did not let everything to stay like that forever, mr. lee moved into actions as soon as his children arrived in seoul. he tried his best to cope up with the times they had missed before and if I'd rate their relationship now, I'd give them an 8/10. mr. lee, since soojin is the youngest and the only daughter is quiet protective of her. when soojin was still a trainee, he was the one who drops her to the entertainment company and he was also the one who fetches her. he is obliged to know all of soojin's friends, even jungkook. — mother / roy, leah / 49 / calm, appreciative, fussy, prudent even if soojin and seokjin stayed with their mother in canada, it didn't mean that they were always with her there. yes she lives with them, but they only see each other every dinner due to her business. and sometimes, not even a glance a day; it's either they're asleep or she's asleep already whenever they arrived home from the university or school. however, compared to their father, soojin and seokjin knew their mother much more. and just like him, mrs. lee is also strict when it comes to them. the only difference is that, she uses soft-power. she would calmly scold the two when they're wrong and use reverse psychology to make them listen to her. — brother / lee, seokjin ; roy, raven / 20 / observant, optimist, capable. bossy, impatient between them two, seokjin is the real genius. he's naturally the smart one who has the least effort in studying. however, seokjin and her always fight due to his bossiness and impatience. once he wanted something, he would push soojin around, telling her to do this and that. moreover, his impatience annoys soojin. hence, seokjin is a wonderful brother besides his king-like life at home. nope I'm not being sarcastic, soojin loves her brother very much because he has always been there every time she needs him, he defends her every time she's being scolded by her parents and he takes good care of her whenever they're being left alone at home or even at school. TRAINEE LIFE ♡
soojin was 11 years old when she first laid eyes upon super junior, that was when one of her korean cousins let her watch a music video of the group, and just like a sudden virus it just snapped in her that she wanted to attend their gatherings. it was her first kpop addiction. 2 years had passed and soojin met more kpop idols to fangirl about, until a scout from jellyfish entertainment approached them while she was walking along a street in hongdae with her best friend, jaehee. they were asked if they wanted to become trainees in jellyfish and each was given calling cards by the scout. soojin took a month long of persuading before she could get her parents' permission. when they did, soojin grabbed the opportunity to audition for it. jellyfish entertainment officially took soojin in their company in 2010. she was one of the half-raced trainees the staffs had selected. soojin did her best within the training period not to disappoint the panel in choosing her for the position. soojin had a bit of a hard time communicating with the trainees in jellyfish. but time has passed and she become more open into talking and learned that jellyfish's trainees aren't that bad. in fact, they're all very friendly and they were just shy to approach her because of her looks. they said, she looks intimidating.
PRE-DEBUT EXPERIENCES ♡ soojin did not have much pre-debut experiences. however, she appeared in some cfs as a child model. she acted for some tv cfs such as milk and juice commercials and amusement park promotions. she also posed for some uniform shop advertisements, her pictures being on every brochures and entity posters. |

— jeonjung / instead of calling jungkook by his famous 'kookie' nickname, soojin and her friends decided to give him the name jeonjung, removing the over-used part of his name to make it more special.
— our maknae (uri maknae) / jungkook is not really the youngest in their circle of friends, but because he's known for being the golden maknae of bts, everyone started calling him 'their maknae' even if he's quiet older than them by months. however, he didn't really care.

FIRST MEETING ♡
technically speaking, jungkook and soojin met in school almost 2 years ago. thus, soojin was surprised to know that she's classmate with the already idol, jungkook. at that moment, she and jaehee had a bet about who should talk to him first. unfortunately, they were both taken aback. nevertheless, jaehee was approached by jang yuri and her middle school friends, taejun, mina and yunho, whom are already acquainted with jungkook beforehand. because of this, soojin and him were introduced to each other.
it took them some while before they become comfortable with each other, eventually they did. soojin and jungkook's level of friendship tied up with her closeness with the other members of the peer group. and in due course, surpassed that level as well. they barely had a long time to spend with each other due to jungkook's hectic schedule, but every time they do, jungkook and soojin fills it up well that sometimes the others were being left behind. they even earned some remarks from their friends and classmates about them dating. thus, the two just laugh at it. RELATIONSHIP ♡ just like how normal friends do, jungkook and soojin spend their time doing a lot of stuffs, those activities that are only limited inside the school. they were in the level where they eat lunch comfortably together at the rooftop of the building, share the food that jin has made for them and chitchat endlessly until the end of recess. even at home they never forget to send each other text messages whenever they aren't doing anything else. in full honesty, soojin was the first to gain a crush on jungkook. her reason is obviously because of his attractive looks and his charming personality. in fact, it was just an admiration at first, until after a few more months of being together, she started to feel like her admiration was getting intensed the deeper they get to know each other. soojin was troubled by it for a week up until she had organized her thoughts and confirmed that she really does like the young lad. little did she know that jungkook was being problematic about it as well.
however, it was that one night [just recently] when jungkook finally gained the courage to tell soojin his feelings. he was abroad for a concert thus he couldn't wait to be back in korea just to tell her everything that is inside him, he was also afraid that he might not be able to tell her face-to-face and so, he sent it through text. yes, it was so 21st century. soojin on the other hand was surprised. their actual conversation was:
jungkook: "soong-ah, are you liking somebody now?" soojin: "hm? I'm not sure. why are you asking?" jungkook: "nothing. I just thought..." soojin: ".................what?" jungkook: "if it's not me, then don't like him." soojin: "eh?" jungkook: "I kinda like you." soojin's heart thumped inside her when she read it and took her some time before she could response. still and all, she kept her answer calm and cool, contrary to what she was really feeling, saying, "I'm not sure if you're trolling me right now, you better make sure of that 'cause I might misunderstand and assume," receiving an unexpected feedback from him with a message of, "I really like you." CONCLUSION ♡ they still act natural towards one another despite the exchange of messages they had before about their feelings. and as soon as jungkook came back from the tour, the two had a heart-to-heart talk. it was at the rooftop of their school building when they bravely told one another about how they feel and both agreed that they should keep it cool in the end. now, the two still send each other text messages every morning, every afternoon and every night when they have time. it was not that awkward, in fact, soojin is now more comfortable around jungkook compared to before. hence, they've become really careful when soojin debuted. jungkook and her can only be seen in the camera glancing and smiling at each other from the back, but they approach each other less than how they do without the camera.

they are in a complicated 'some' relationship. they already admitted feelings for each other but they kind of prefer to stay as what they are now, more than friends but less than lovers. (jams to 'some' bcs inspired by this song.) their friends knew about this too and they promised to keep it to themselves due to the risk. after all, soojin just debuted while jungkook is at the peak of his career, and they did not want to ruin that.
