+ » you only live once. yes, soojin does believe in that saying. for as long as she could stay positive, soojin brightly faces the world ahead of her. ever since she was young, soojin has already been the center of attraction in her family due to her bubbliness and friendliness towards her cousins and any other members of the family. she was even named the 'undying human-sized battery' of one of her uncles. she never let herself feel down for long.

- » did I miss something? despite being ready to new things, soojin can be pretty dense most of the time. she's always behind the trend whenever there are commotions such as fights, make ups or even when somebody shows hatred or affections towards her. she won't know it until you vocally tell her, face to face.

- » sober but seems drunk. it's true what they say about having too much is not good for you, like soojin who can get really annoying due to her over-naughtiness and being a rock-headed child. her friends' theory of her being this too cheerful, talkative and naughty is because she was not able to show it before when she still lives with her grandmother and is only exhausting everything now that she's away from her. but soojin is a firm child, once she said something, she'd definitely do it whether good or bad.

- » did someone say twitter? being an active blogger even before debut, soojin already has converted internet and gadgets into her necessities. and so, being around with these things distracts her very much. for as long as she can see her phone, ipad or camera around, she would delay practice or whatever she's doing for it. so it is best to keep her away from these things for her to be focused.

» lee soojin was born mavie roy-lee in seoul, south korea and the youngest daughter of a korean sergeant, lee seokmin and a canadian university professor, katie roy. they are a family of four including her 2 year older brother raven roy-lee or lee seokjin in korea. their parents met in busan, south korea where both were chosen as volunteers [lee as a town police and roy as a temporary teacher] in a high school for a whole school year. and since she's a foreigner, their father's family offered her temporary shelter to live in for the year. during those times, they developed feelings for each other. unfortunately, ms. roy went back to canada afterwards. the two continued their relationship still. ms. roy visited back to korea and got married after a long year of long-distance relationship. they had their first child seokjin next, and when he was born, the now mrs. lee decided to stay there for the good of their family. 2 years later, they had soojin.

» it was in 1999 when her mother decided to take them with her to canada to make them citizens of her home country. at first, their father was against it knowing that he would be away from his children for long. after all, he just couldn't ditch his duty any time he wants. it was a week long discussion until he finally agreed. soojin was 2 years old when they left for canada. however, just like how they promised, they kept in touch with their father. although unlike her brother, soojin had forgotten how her father looks like in personal.

» since her mother was busy working as a university professor, soojin and seokjin were taken under the care of their grandmother in alberta, canada. it was tough for the siblings for their grandmother is not an easy one, she's very strict when it comes to them. they were molded to become more polite around others, they learned to eat quietly in front of any meals, and they could only be the bubbly them whenever there are family reunions or family meetings. but the siblings loves their grandmother. she was the sweetest and the most thoughtful person they have ever met despite being strict, she used to take them to every amusement parks and tour them around canada during the weekends. she took good care of them well. she was very lovable. until in 2006, soojin's grandmother died due to heart attack.

» soojin and her family moved to korea back in 2008. it was not really related to her grandmother's death but rather it was because of her father's request of seeing them. after all, they have already fulfilled their 5 year residency in alberta to become official citizens of canada.

» it was not easy for soojin and her brother to adjust in korea. she had a hard time communicating with her classmates when she attended a middle school that uses korean language as their medum of communication. thankfully, her parents and brother, were there to help her. and so for 7 years and still counting, soojin slowly learns the language very well.

pre-debut days

» soojin was 11 years old when she first laid eyes upon super junior. that was when one of her korean cousins let her watch a music video of the group. and just like a sudden virus it just snapped in her that she wanted to attend to their gatherings. it was her first kpop addiction. 2 years had passed and soojin met more kpop idols to fangirl about, until a scout from jyp entertainment approached her while she was walking along a street in hongdae with her classmates. she was asked if she wanted to become a trainee in jyp as well and was given a calling card by the scout. soojin took a month long of persuading before she could get her parents' permission. when they did, soojin grabbed the opportunity to audition for jyp.

» jyp officially took soojin in their company in 2010. she was one of the half-raced trainees the staff had selected. soojin did her best within the training period not to disappoint the panel in choosing her for the position. unfortunately in 2011, soojin has to stop training under jyp due to some company issues. hence, she was referred to big hit entertainment by one of the jyp staffs. and so with the help of that staff, soojin's transfer was no hassle at all.

» unlike her smooth adjustment under jyp, soojin had a bit of hard time communicating with the trainees in big hit. she's bubbly yes, but because she's a moved-in trainee from another company, soojin was kept out of place among the other trainees. if it weren't for jungkook who volunteered talking to her when they become partners in a team training then soojin won't gain any friends. ever since she met jungkook, she become more open to talking and learned that big hit's trainees aren't that bad after all. in fact, they're very friendly and they were just shy to approach her because of her looks. they said, she looks intimidating.

» since he came from a survival show before debut, changkyun is proven to be a very hard-working young man, whether it is about performing or about learning new things. just like soojin, he's always up for challenges and he'd take it without any complains.

» changkyun also has this negative attitude of doing anything just to get what he wants. he becomes rock-headed once he wants something and he's firm about it. pretty much resembles soojins' negative trait.

» on camera: despite being young, changkyun already knows how to be a professional. he could look very calm in every interview but he's willing to do anything that he was asked to do just for the better of the show. he has the sense of sportsmanship and he behaves professionally in front of it.

» off camera: just like what he shows on camera, changkyun's pretty much the same behind it, an all-smiling friendly person. although most of the time he would only listen to conversations and would not really participate unless he was asked to, or he just wanted to. he's not really the type who has a lot of aegyo but once he gets comfortable around you, he would soon start cracking up some jokes and does some failed aegyos in front of you. he's also just like any other grown up teenager boys who prefers to talk about cool boys stuffs such as cars and video games than any other.

RELATIONSHIP

» changkyun and soojin met through changkyun's fellow monsta x member shownu, who used to be in jyp with soojin. when shownu moved to starship, soojin and him had rarely seen each other and so when soojin found a chance, she visited shownu [before no.mercy era] at starship's building. shownu introduced soojin to his fellow starship trainees including the newly recruited changkyun.

» it was changkyun who had a crush on soojin first, that according to shownu, he won't stop asking about her even when she left the building already. shownu even teases changkyun that they only talked for a few minutes and he already gained a crush on soojin. unfortunately ever since, the two never had the chance to see each other again due to their own businesses; changkyun on his survival show and soojin on her own training.

» after winning no.mercy and so becoming a member of monsta x, changkyun was restless. his schedule was full-packed that he couldn't find time to even enjoy his own luxuries. eventually, he started to look for soojin from shownu again. he momentarily forgot her name but stamped it in his mind when shownu mentioned it again.

» shownu, because of changkyun's constant asking, finally gave him soojin's number with a condition that he would behave around his 'almost-little-sister'. changkyun agreed and so they were reconnected. at first it was awkward especially for soojin's part since he has become a huge star already. apparently, changkyun found the way to get into her interest. soojin and him exchanged several messages during free time and gradually, soojin felt something in her. she knew that she's liking him too, and she's not denying it.

» now that soojin is debuting, changkyun is obviously there to support her. until today, the two still sends each other messages from morning, noon down to night. and during their free schedules, the two spends time together with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake for each in a cafe near big hit building. they already did it a few times before, and are still counting now.

» jeon jungkook - '97 / bts maknae - they begun to become close with each other when soojin first entered the company as a moved-in trainee. they were both in a training team and were always paired up during dance classes due to their height differences [which is not that far from each other compared to the other trainees]. they are also classmates [since freshmen year of high school up until now]. she calls him 'teacher' because he was always the one who taught her whenever she couldn't get a step during trainee days. jungkook and soojin is already in the level where they comfortably hit each other's arms, pinch each other's tummy and cheeks, and teasingly yell at each other with their make-names for one another.

» kim taehyung - '95 / bts vocalist - taehyung and her become vocal partners twice during their trainee days. and since taehyung is one of the latest trainees in big hit like her, they've become more closer than any other trainees. compared to jungkook, taehyung is more of the kinder friend. he always protects soojin whenever jungkook and her fight, and he always share foods with her. that was the most important part of their friendship, food.

» park jihyo - '97 / twice vocalist - jihyo and soojin first met in jyp. since they're of the same age, it was not hard for them to get to know each other. jihyo is just like any other girls out there who likes to go and hang out with her friends at the malls during their free time. although unlike soojin, jihyo is more focused and organized when it comes to her activities. she can manage her time well and she has self-control when it comes to luxuries and pleasure. soojin often calls her, 'my conscience' due to her constant reminders of her being easily distracted.

» kunpimook bhuwakul - '97 / got7 maknae - bambam is one of the foreign trainees in jyp just like soojin, and so, they started to become close when they become classmates in one of the performance classes. bambam is way more talkative than soojin. compared to him, soojin has to learn more about variety shows. although bambam is the clingy type of a friend. he always links arms with you and he likes ruffling soojin's hair while saying that he admires her hair for being naturally wavy.

» son hyunwoo - '92 / monsta x leader - hyunwoo or best known as shownu of monsta x was her fellow trainee in jyp. soojin and him were in a team training together for almost half a year. unfortunately, shownu was one of the trainees that left the company together with the others including soojin. soojin treated shownu like her own brother, in fact, she cried in his arms for almost an hour when they were about to be separated. among her friends, shownu is the quietest. he barely speaks with his mouth but rather, he speaks with his body. whenever he's around soojin, shownu would first pinch soojin's cheek then twirl the ends of her hair. he also likes patting soojin's back.
