Yellow Prom Dress???

Our school's prom was yesterday night. I am a Junior so my prom is next year.Even though I have months to go I can't help but think of ideas.

I think the idea of a yellow prom dress is nice. I was talking to some girls in my class about what ind of dress they will wear. Most of them said pink, red, blue, and white. At first I wanted a light blue dress because it's my favorite color. But someone is bound to have the same dress as me. I know it. I want to stand out. I don't want to be blue or pink dress number 20.

I'm not as skinny as these models so I don't now if I'll look right. I don't want to look like a giant sun. But my skin complexion is almost the same as the first in the last picture so it will complement me well.

I might not completely give up on the blue though~

I was talking with a friend today and she said that she's not going to prom next year because she wants to spend her money on college. It didn't cross my mind not to go until she said it. I always thought it was something you had to do in order to have a complete high school experience. Yes it's expensive and yes it's kind of a waste, but the idea of dressing up and having one last good time with your friends is something I want to do.

But I wonder (even though it's a year away) what would I do at prom? I can't dance so will I just stand at the snack bar and eat while I watch my friends twerk?? All my non-dancing "nerd squad" say they aren't going so I'll have no one to talk to. Look at me worrying already. sometimes I think I'm too anxious all the time...

But anyway... Did anyone of you go to prom or are planning to go?? Do you regret going or not going??

I wanted a yellow dress for my prom as well but I ended up with an aqua-blue one which I loved from the moment I landed my eyes on it.
It often happens when it comes to prom dresses - you go shopoing and get back home with a dress that's nithing you've imagined you'll buy. :D
Here is also a tradition to have prom for graduating school. It's once in life and stays as a nice memory.

Do what you feel will make you happy! I went to prim my last year of high school. Yes it was expensive but a nice experience and your parents get to see you grow up and mature. And also you want to have fun before stepping into the real world of entering college and being an adult. And you can't dance? Don't let that deter you from going. I really didn't dance much just had a blast with my friends was all that mattered before we parted after high school. And everyone has a beautiful body. I'm petite but curvy. All those prom dresses you posted were really nice and elegant. Wear something you think that will compliment or appealing to your body type! ^^

Yeah the tickets were really expensive and I only danced like 2 songs with my boyfriend but for the most part I just sat down or snacked on food. There was a line of dessert (four full tables) and it was so good XD I would definitely go. You don't have to have the best experience there but I would hate to look back at something and think 'I wonder what would have happened if I had gone' I personally think it's someone you should go to just to experience it. Yeah people twerk but whatever. Munch on food, take pics with your friends, walk around. You don't have to dance but I would go. I'm not social at all but it's an experience that I enjoyed and would go to again if I could.... (to eat food XD jk)
p.s. I think yellow would look great on you. I didn't see a lot of yellow dresses at my prom so if you want to be the person that only has that dress, i'd go for yellow. :)

Yellow is totally really pretty so don't be afraid to be different. You will get a lot of girls in black and blue etc....

I have been to two proms. One at the end of high school and one at the end of sixth form(English xD) I deffo recommend going, they do tend to be great nights. I also recommend not spending loads of money in your dress. I had two fairly expensive dresses £150 but a lot of girls came in much cheaper dresses and you really couldn't tell and everyone looked lovely. Also I have never had occasion to wear a black floor length tight ball gown since so you are better buying a cute cheaper dress which you can use again. Or do what I did and spend loads of money on the shoes. I bought kurt geigers, cos they will last ages and I bought black platform Heels and I can totally wear them again. Also we had a meal at our proms. Don't so what I did and buy a dress with a bodice which is so tight you can't eat.
