APPEARANCE — The first thing you'll notice in Yeonmin is his 'whiteness'. White hair and very pale skin, he catches the attention right away but the worst in that is that it's natural. He was born with albinism, meaning his body doesn't have the pigments to color his hair, skin and eyes. He has natural white hair, pale skin and red eyes. His condition led him to have a bad eyesight and a big weakness for the sun. Fortunately, thanks to his doctor, he managed to get dark brown lenses corrected specially for his condition and to help him see better, though he has troubles seeing from afar. Finally, his body is covered by different scars, the risks of working in a circus. Some important scars on his back and right leg are hidden from everyone. Also, he's 177cm tall and weighs 62kg. Do not be fooled by his frail appearance, he's actually quite muscular thanks to practice.

style — Yeonmin is pretty simple, you can give him everything, he'll wear it. He really doesn't care at all about clothes - he usually has no knowledge on it and ends up sticking to black and white clothes to avoid any fashion terrorism. He always wears long clothes : you'll rarely find him wearing short-sleeved and never shorts, especially outside of the circus. Hoodies are his favorite pieces of clothing ever and he doesn't go out without one, hood on. He enjoys middle-sleeved shirts during training, though. Outside of the circus, he has a hoodie on, sunglasses, a mask, a scarf, hands in his pockets and a cap if he can, which often leads people to stare a him strangely - he doesn't care though, otherwise, due to his condition, his skin can be damaged.

Yeonmin has been called an angel for a very good reason : he's a very innocent and bright person. He always sees the good things in life and lives with his hopes and dreams. He's a happy being, always smiling and laughing. Bad people do not exist in his opinion, they are just people who took the wrong path and need a bit of help to go back to the good one. He believes strongly in second chances and cannot think that people would deliberatly want to hurt others. As he was sheltered his whole life, he knows nothing about the world. He's curious about everything because he knows nothing, his level of education is quite low, he has no diploma since he never went to school, but the thing is he doesn't realize about that. He doesn't know what it is to go to university, so he thinks anything having knowledge is like a genius. Because of that, you can make him believe pretty much everything and he'll truly listen to you with interest. His innocence and gullibility are endearing but for dishonest people, they are a perfect way to manipulate him. He's a wonderful target for people with bad intentions, as he's too blind to notice they mean harm. He's lost in a dream-like world of fantasy and he cannot seem to realize how rough the world has become.

Yeonmin is a caring and kind person, he treats everyone with equal kindness and is always one to show little attentions to his friends, like cooking their favorite food or doing something for them. He's trustworthy and reliable, he's also a very loyal friend. Ask him for anything and he'll work hard to give it to you and do his best to please you. He's really hardworking and will never give up until he reaches his goal. He's a good helper and teaches very well. He's a dependant person, he's always lived surrounding by the crew so he needs people around him to survive otherwise loneliness will eat him. He likes to appear as a strong person, so he always hides his pain and his worries so as not to bother people around him. He's not one to hide things, however there's one thing he doesn't like talking about : his accident. He's still very shocked about it and panics as soon as he's close to the circumstances of the accident. Except for that, he's not easily scared.

- He has a great complicity with animals, especially snakes.
- He's extremely supple since he's been working on this for years.
- If he forces to much on them, his back and right leg will start hurting.
- He loves French songs and often uses them for his acts.

- He takes vitamins very regularly to compensate the lack of sleep.
- He barely has a high school level of education since he was home schooled his whole life.
- He never experienced love nor ever had a relationship, also never had his first kiss.
- He's a very light drinker, so he avoids alcohol like the plague.
- He never experienced common things like walking in the park, going shopping with friends, going to a cafe, not even going to school. 
- Despite his love for animals, he's scared of the circus' tigers.
- The only technology he knows is mobile phone. He has an old one, but he doesn't more.
- He's rarely sick but when he is, it's really harsh on him. He often tries to hide it but it only takes a few hours for him to collapse on the ground and he has to stay bed-ridden for the rest of the day.

background — 

Song Yeonmin was born in a young family. His parents were just out of high school and he was an accident, to be honest. He arrived when they were not expecting it and didn't want it, however they didn't have the heart to kill the poor little being inside her belly. It had not ask for anything, after all. They decided to go to an orphanage even before its birth to ask what they should do. Despite not being ready to have a child, they also didn't want to make the poor baby pay and they refused to just abandon him in the cold winter. The man who was in charge of the orphanage was very helpful and helped them with all the papers, he even paid for her medical charges because they didn't have enough money for that. When Yeonmin was born, his parents left him to the care of the man. He lived his first five years in the orphanage, surrounded by young children yet terribly lonely. He was treated like a freak by others and mocked at every day. When he was a few days old, they had noticed his reddish eyes and light hair and they had asked for medical exams. That's when they heard that the young baby had albinism, an incurable disease that didn't develop the pigment in his body. Albinism comes with white skin, white hair and red eyes, but it also comes with bad eyesight and weakness to light. As he grew up, he was forbidden to go out and play with others, he had to be covered with clothes even during summer and had to wear a cap or sunglasses almost at every moment. Children are too young to understand and they kept on teasing him, hurting the poor little boy deeply. Am I a monster ? It was what he was always thinking. After all, only him was forced to hide. 

When he reached the age of 5, the brother of the owner of the orphanage came to visit his sibling with other people. When they arrived, the man was busy teaching Korean to the 5-year-old, who was diligently working. The women who had arrived immediately started cooing at him and saying how cute he was. It was something really new to Yeonmin, who had been used to dirty looks. The old man looked with endearment as the child beamed at them and blushed at their compliments. His brother, Yongjun, had heard about the albino from him a lot and had always been curious - and he felt that the boy had a great future in front of him, if only he had the chance to show it. During the whole day, the guests played with him, almost ignoring the other children, and Yeonmin felt absolutely wonderful. During the next month, every visit was a delight for him and one day, the owner came to ask him if he wanted to go with them, be a part of the crew. He had heard about the circus, and Yongjun was a wonderful story teller, so the dreams and fantasies he had told him were filling the child's mind. He immediately said yes and that's how his new life started.

Yeonmin joined the circus and was introduced to a whole new world. He was too young for most things of course, but they could show him some things and he learnt how to train dogs and cats to perform some tricks in front of an audience. He made his first performance at 8 years old and he absolutely loved it. He grew up surrounded by his new family and he was definitely the happiest person in the world, despite being forbidden to go out so as to protect himself. He was too young to see that the circus was having difficulties and attracted less people. As he grew up, he experienced all the different acts they could perform and would train with everyone : however he had his own act and he loved it. He was mastering his act and even earned himself the respect of the old ringleader. And yet, despite his happiness, despite his mastering, one day, when he was 20, everything went wrong. He made an error during practice and an accident happened, almost costing him his life. He stayed in a coma during one year and when he woke up, the first thing he did was come back to the circus. Still shocked by what had happened, he refused to do his previous act and focused on others, practicing harder and harder despite having just recovered. However, during this one year, a lot had changed and less and less people were coming to the circus. Despite their hard work, despite their promotion, their audience was only 20 people when they were lucky, and in the end, no one came anymore.

It felt like the end, everyone was giving up. Yeonmin refused to. He would disobey his guardian and go in the city, under the sun, to give flyers and ask people to come but even then, it was a failure. That's when the news arrived : a rich businessman had bought the land they had put the circus on and wanted to destroy it to construct a luxurious complex. Everyone turned to Yongjun, but the male could only apologize. Their debts were enormous and selling it was the only way to help everyone to go live ont their own. They all left but Yeonmin refused to follow. He wanted to show them they were wrong ! The Cirque des Rêves was his home, he just couldn't leave like this ! He tried again and again to convince everyone to stay and practice, but everyone ignored him. He was ready to give up for the first time, when Shin Sungrok arrived.

There's always hope, after all... isn't there ?

Sungrok is a little , let's be honest here. He had absolutely no idea there was a circus there when he bought the land from Seoul's mayor and he really didn't give a about this as everyone left pretty rapidly. But when he saw this young male trying his best to take care of it and bring people without success, he thought that it could be a good way to have fun. He acts like a nice and kind person in front of Yeonmin and it was only a surprise for him to see the youngster fall for his act so quickly. He sees Yeonmin as a game, a pleasant little treat in his boring days. He never lost a dare so he knows he's not going to lose this one, however it pleases him to give hope to this circus fellow just to anticipate the pleasure his fall will give him. Yeonmin considers him as a good person, seeing how he helps the circus by giving him money. He would never imagine the man is just playing with him just for his own pleasure.

ACT — He's the ringleader, the one taking care of the whole planning of the show and making sure that everyone is doing the job. He's the announcer and the face of the circus, he also performs with snakes. He can do pretty much every act, to be honest. However he does seem that before the circus closed down, he had a particular act. Who knows ?

offstage — He takes care of the management of the circus. He plans the show, recruits perfomers and train them so they could give a show of quality. He uses all his poor capacities to take care of the money they have and the materials' quality. He tries to take care of everything so that the members could focus on their training and on the show, but it's getting difficult for him. However, he doesn't neglect his crew and will always be the first one awake to get everything ready and prepare breakfast for all of them.

what do you think of cirque des rêves ? — It's a world of dreams. Children nowadays only care about Lotte World, about this pretty world created with money and objects. Of course, circuses are the same but it's the work of people that make it work. We create fantasies, we create pictures and memories ! I'm sad that people stopped coming, I'm sad everyone decided to give up on it but I don't want to follow them. The Dream Circus... It's my home. If it's destroyed, then where should I go ? I don't know anything but circus acts...

why did you decide to join the crew ? — When I was a child, I didn't really have a choice. A circus is the dream of children, where they can live fantasies and that's what I thought. I didn't think of having another life, and I know I missed a lot of things but I like my life. I would not exchange it for any price. And now... I have to make it work again. I accept anyone, I don't care where they come from or why they come, I just want them to learn and perform so that we could give a wonderful show. I believe in them, really ! I believe they can do wonderful things ! 

WHAT did you think of yeonmin the first time you saw him ? — Hum, hehe...

WHAT are your thoughts on the dare ? — It's a good opportunity ! It's the only way to save the circus, anyway. This man gave me money for the circus, he gave me opportunity to save it so I can only thank him, I guess ? I know it's not perfect but I'm sure I can show him that I can win this dare ! And after all, if he's helping me so much, isn't it that he wants a way to save it as well ?

WHAT was your experience / Talent in anything related to circus acts before joining the crew ? — I've spent my whole life in the circus, so I know pretty much all the different acts that have been presented there. I don't master all of them of course but everyone showed me what they were doing and I learnt about all their acts before choosing the one I prefered. And even after that, I just couldn't stay away from the others so I trained with everyone so as to be able to replace anyone in case of trouble. That's exactly why I can train all the new members ! I... I took the role of the ringleader because we need one, and I can't go back to my previous act. I want to but I... I can't. Because what if... it happens again ?
