[Rainie’s POV]

If someone asked me what the most interesting part of my job was, it’s definitely being able to manipulate the emotions and performances of many good looking actors and actresses. You might wonder what kind of job allows me to have such an incredible power. It is none other than the job of a screenwriter, otherwise known as a dramatist.  

I have always been told I have a lot of talent in writing, so in college I focused on journalism and creative writing. I wrote a romance piece once, my teacher entered it into a competition for me and I won first place. The competition was held by a television company, and they decided to produce it into a drama serial, this is how my success began.

 
The drama, titled A Story Worth Telling, was a big hit. All the actors in the series were well liked by the audience; the audience enjoyed the storyline and found it to be very different from other dramas they watched previously. I continued to write for this TV station and every script I wrote received very good feedback. Eventually I started writing for other TV stations in Taiwan, spread into China and Hong Kong, and recently the latest case I've accepted was an invitation from the country nicknamed “Conqueror of Idol Dramas” Korea.

I decided I would give it a go.

Only… I’ve never been to Korea, and I’ve never interacted with Korean people. I don’t know their culture, their manners, and their way of living… everything is so foreign to me.

The company in Korea suggested that I move to Korea for two or three months and learn about the country. After thinking about it for some time, I decided this would be the best choice to make. They definitely gave me a warm welcome and a big surprise when I got there.
