‘Why…why?! Why are they doing this?! I was hoping that they just leave her alone! She’s done hurting!’

I was feeling so sad. It make me remember the time I knew about my sickness.

Flashback

 The first time I knew about my sickness, that time only grandma know about it since she’s the one that accompany me to the hospital since my parents was overseas due to dad’s business. I was feeling so sad, imagining the people I love was devastated after my death was not what I’ll be happy about. How do I know that they will be devastated after my death?

The answer was proven when there was one time when I almost hit by a car, my dad assign 4 bodyguards for me that will follow me everywhere I go, my mom keep calling for me every hour to know where I am, my friend…it’s like they having a ‘shift’ of accompany me. I was never alone. It makes me happy knowing they care that much about me, but it’s kind of make you suffocating knowing that you can never have your time alone.

That’s when I start feeling unwell, my body seems easily tired, my nose will suddenly start bleeding, my hair start fall often. Telling this to the others, I know they are going to make a big fuss about it. So I just tell grandma about it. It’s really hard convincing my friend not to follow me but from the interference from my grandma they finally give up. After knowing about my sickness I ask the doctor and grandma to keep quiet about it. I don’t want to make the others sad. They was reluctant at the beginning but they finally agree after looking at my face.

That time grandma told me I have hope. I was utterly confused. ‘What hope?’ I was questioning myself. If grandma talk about chemotherapy then she also should know that it will not guarantee anything.

“You should do a transplant”, grandma said, I can see that she was feeling guilty at the time…but why?

“It’s hard to find donor that suitable for Ms Hyewon. But it worth trying”, the doctor said. The doctor was Mr. Kim, he has been my family doctor for since before I was born. You could say he’s a family doctor. Then I looked at grandma, she shook her head.

“No you don’t need to…you have a…sister Hyewon..”,grandma said while smiling at me sadly. Sister? Since when did I have a sister? I thought I was an only child..?

“Grandma..what do you mean by that?”,I asked grandma. Grandma took a deep breath before answering my question.

“You have a younger sister…a younger twin sister”, grandma said while looking at my face…she looked said and…guilty?..why?

“How come I never known about her?”, I asked grandma. My voice sound desperate. If I have another sibling..my twins sibling on top of it..then why have I never see her.?? Is she possibly…! No, impossible! If she’s dead then grandma won’t said that I have hope…! I looked up at grandma and waiting for her to answer my question

“The reason will be because her existence was never meant to be known to others especially to you…and…you’re..father..”, grandma said..drop of tears could be seen on her face

“Grandma what do you mean by that?! Please, tell me!”, unaware that I accidently raise my voice..not my intention..but…grandma looked at me sadly and sigh

“..when you’re parents married..your father business was not as big as it is now…and he does’t really focus on his family. His focus that time was on his business…how to expand them more…so your mother was thinking that by having a child could probably change your father…change his focus. But after you’re mother talked to your dad about it he said…he was not ready to have children…if it only a child then he wouldn’t mind but if it more than one than they should separate…after that you’re mother got the news she was pregnant…she was happy…you’re father still busy with his work but his started focus
