- The First of A Thousand
See You, Tonight
Yixing loses Kris when he’s eighteen.
It’s funny, how quickly things can change.
How someone can turn from a stranger to a friend, and how instantly a friend could go from being by Yixing’s side talking about the stars, to becoming one of them.
Or maybe all of them?
They will meet in the night from now on, as the sun dies with the rising of the moon.
For Yixing’s tonights, tomorrow nights and all his nights after that.
Until the sun sets for him one last time, and he is welcomed to his forever nights by a familiar face and his gummy smile.
Kris was finally free, released from the prison his injury kept him in. Their time together existing only as memories in Yixing's mind.
Kris had taken away his pain, and had given it to Yixing.
And for the first time in his life, Yixing had never felt so alive.

Standing on the hill they once shared together, Yixing reread his letter for the last time. All eight words written down on of a piece of paper, with a diagram on the back that was now meaningless, from a sketchbook that wasn’t his, filled with clumsy doodles he didn’t know how to draw, addressed to someone who no longer existed.
He started to tear the letter into tiny pieces – letting the wind carry them from his hands until there was nothing left.
Yixing closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The cold night air felt crisper in his lungs. He opened his eyes, and looked up at the light littered sky.
A thousand more nights with you…
“Hello. I miss you.”
Though he knew he was probably imagining it, but Yixing could swear the stars were shining extra bright tonight.
