 8. Tactic: Observing

It is so hard to leave. Nothing remains as it was.   With every mile gained, he left his familiar world behind, colliding with a new one. He could see the buildings rolling by radically through the window of the yellow cab and soon he was unfamiliar with the street names, unacquainted with the shops.    Leaving always implied suitcases and empty drawers, and leaving would mean to bid farewell to your loved ones. Jongin's hopes to bid farewell to his mother were destroyed this morning when his mom had already left for work. Was he really a keen disappointment for her as the coach mentioned?    He knew absolutely nothing about where he was going to, he felt paralyzed and nobody could dissipate his fear.    Though there had been moments of beauty in Jongin's life, he knew that life for the most part had been unkind to him. But as he walked the final twenty paces until he reached the school, he could not help but wish for more of it.   He looks wildly around the school campus. For inspiration? For divine intervention? For hope?    He breathes heavily, eyes wide in panic as the cab he just exited turns right, vanishing behind the buildings within the town. There is no turning back now, he reached his point of no return. He arrived at his hostile residence - Busan Art Academy, home of their aspiring football team.    Jongin pulled his suitcase along behind him while making his way through the campus. The rolls clatter, due to the cobblestones. Some students stood talking, others lounged on benches doing their homework or eating. From somewhere, he heard the clamor from kids playing American football. It reminded him that he didn't know how to train a unit.    Are they familiar with the basics?    Do they use different snapcodes and commands compared to his own team?    Are they even familiar with each command on the pitch?   "Ah, you must be Jongin," a girl’s honey-sweet voice came from behind him. He turned around to see a girl dressed in a moss green and white chequered skirt, pleated, below the knee length. In combination with a white loose neck tie with the school logo, an eagle.    "Our headmaster is having a meeting with the sponsors of our school, so he sent me to guide you through your first day. I'm Victoria, but just call me Vic. I'm your counterpart whenever you feel burdened here."   Her hair was a rich shade of mahogany. It flowed in waves. Her emerald green eyes were framed by long lashes and an incredible amount of eyeliner. She was definitely not Jongin's dream girl, her entire appearance seemed to be faked. Another thing on the list of things he hates.    "Okay," he replied and examined the ironed, folded together uniform. He was supposed to wear that? He is an exchange student after all; 2 weeks, 14 days, 336 hours until he is reunited with his unit. He doesn't need to fit in, to adapt.    "The headmaster informed me that you will be in charge of our Junior football team. Well, my brother Bryan has an important appointment with his dentist, so he cannot attend the training," she blabbered, not for a moment did she stop talking.    "Yeah," he replied, rolling his eyes. What was her intention? He would mark him absent. Football should have been his priority, not visiting the doctor for a regular check-up. The opportunity to play shouldn't be wasted on someone as ungrateful as her brother.    "The Junior team lost every game. Hopefully, you'll have an impact on them. My brother's grades are dropping, he feels tired. Losing so many games in a row pulled his mood downwards. Please motivate them," she suggested and walked through the main gate of the school.    "Your first lesson, math, starts in forty-five minutes and you have to wear our school uniform. Within these three weeks you have to play according to our rules. But I've heard a lot about your bad temper. I do believe that you will be stuck being the Junior team's coach until you graduate. After you hurt our Kyungsoo, everyone is eager to detect your flaws," she handed him the school uniform.    "After winning against our team, you are the archenemy. Truth be told, nobody likes losing. If they continue to lose - I am talking about both teams - things may get heated for you. You are outlawed. The following days will be tough for you, Kai."   What a two-faced .    He neve
