in this universe, creatures of all shapes and sizes run freely around the streets with the humans. however, this proved to be very dangerous for the mortals and the government had to step in. each human is assigned a safe being, one that would keep them safe from the more dangerous, high-level beasts.

as a medical student, and a damn good one at that, ryeowook is a key part of the society and is assigned a higher-level being to live with him and protect him. however, this higher-level being is slightly problematic and was not recommended, but as tensions were rising between the humans and the beasts, ryeowook was assigned cho kyuhyun as his live in protector.

at first, ryeowook isn’t very bothered by this, but as time passes, kyuhyun grows increasingly more problematic and after a lengthy conversation, they make amends and become more amicable towards each other. (this will become a oneshot one day!)

note: single people have a different scent to beasts and people in a relationship have a scent that drives them away, which is why married couples like sungmin and saeun and people in relationships like shindong and his girlfriend don't have to have a live in creature.
