“Alright…here goes nothing…” He heaved a breath.

I looked at him as he sang the (I think) chorus part of his song.

By myself, i say my love send away my love
in the folds of the lonely accumulated memories, the tears hang

Even if you’re far away, i hope that you’ll be happy

“Sunny?” He tapped my shoulder.

I just realized I was closing my eyes as he sang his peaceful song about waiting for someone who he truly loves. I wondered who she was. I remembered, he suffered a lot back then. He suffered a lot by setting Jessica free for Taeyeon. That was a true friendship he said. He moved on he said. Yet I have the feeling he really needed to be loved.

“Soonkyu.” He said.

I opened my eyes and only to caught his eyes. I cupped his cheeks and smiled.

“Tell me what’s wrong…” I said.

He pouted and looked at me, “Nothing’s wrong Sunny-ah,” He replied.

I let go of his cheeks and placed my hands on the table.

“Alright…but if you need someone to talk to I’m here…”

“Alright, Sunny.”

“Alright, Step.”

The sudden sound of the door made all of us looks at the shikshikin.

“Guys!” Young shouted holding his favourite chip and a paper.

“What?” Yuri said.

“Guys, I got it!” He said.

“Got what?” Step asked.

“I got the field trip location for us! We’re going to LA!” Young shouted.

“YO HOMETOWN!” Step said in English.

“Please tell me we’re going to California,” Jessica said.

“Yup!” Young replied.

“YO!!!” Step and Jessica said in unison.

“Oh, Yoong, if you don’t know…Stephan here is from America too,” Hyo explained.

Yoong nodded his head and smiled.

“Hey! I was born in California too,” I pouted.

“Psh, for like half a month,” Hyo said.

“Hyo you meanie …” I said.

“I love you too,” Hyo giggled.

I laughed.

“So when is it?” Taeng asked hugging Jessica.

“Next week,” Young replied.

Everyone nodded but interrupted by Step’s phone.

“Hello?” Step said in English.

We stayed quiet for his privacy.

“Yeah, I’m visiting soon, Michelle,” He said.

Jessica chuckled while the rest of us were just clueless since we do not understand their language.

“I love you too!” He said.

I widened my eyes and looked at him.

‘I love you too?’

Step closed his phone and smiled.

“So what do you guys want to do today?” Step asked, now in Korean.

“Sleep…” Jessica said.

“No, Jess…that’s too…” Yuri rolled her eyes.

“How about spin the bottle?” Taeng suggested opening his backpack.

“Call,” Step said.

Taeng stood up and placed the empty bottle on the ground.

“Alright, let’s go!”

We surrounded the bottle.

I was sitting between Step and Yoong. I don’t know why but I suddenly felt electrified. Am I nervous?  No…It’s just…I feel uncomfortable. I held my chest and realized my heartbeat started to beat so fast. This is unexpected. Taeng spun the bottle and it stopped in front of Step.

“Dare,” He said.

“Kiss the wall,” Taeng laughed.

Step stood up and said, “Kiss the wall my , Taeng.”

“I love you too bro,” He replied.

I wasn’t looking at Step because I was busy playing with my nails. Until a soft pair of lips landed on my cheek. The corner of my eye shot a gaze and saw Step’s closed eyes. Later on, he pulled away and looked at Taeng.

“Done.”

“Yah, that’s not a wall. Sunny’s not a wall,” Hyo protested.

“I don’t know what a wall is because what I know is that I am a wall. Who protects someone,” Step explained.

“So you protect us but chose Sunny to be kissed?” Young asked.

“Because I protect her the most!” Step proudly said.

“Oh…very well Step,” Taeng said and clapped his hands.
