Our storyChapter 19 The Dinner
2 weeks after that fateful night in Tokyo, Yoona's first day back in Korea
*at incheon international terminal*
"Jongie!!!! " Yoona screamed on the phone
"Argh!!! I swear, one of these days.. Yoona is really goona have to pay for our hearing aids" yuri grumbled
Yoona ignored yuri and continued to screamed "im back!!!!! Missed me????"
"Oh.. You're back" jonghyun replied on the phone
" Yup yup yup!" Yoona replied
Yoona's gotten used to jonghyun's cold replies.. Over the past two weeks she has always been on the phone with him. One thing she noticed is, thats just how he speaks. It may sounds cold.. But in actuality, jonghyun is a warm person. Its just that he's not the type who will shower people with sweet and cheesy stuff.... Well not unless yoona nagged him too.
"Are you tired?" Jonghyun asked
"Nuuu. I slept on the plane" yoona answered cutely
"Want me to come see you?" Jonghyun asked again
"Will you? Will you?" Yoona asked exictedly
"Yeah.. When do you want me to come?" Jonghyun asked
"Uhmmm hold on... Tae-unnie!!! Can jonghyun come over tonight????" Yoona asked her leader
"Yeah sure, he can come for dinner around 7 or so." taeyeon answered
"Omigosh!! Its the dinner! >.< jongie figthing!" Yoona screamed in her mind
"Jongie... Can you come for... Uhmm... Dinner...?" Yoona sheepishly asked
"Dinner? sure.. What time?" Jonghyun asked
"At 7" yoona smiled. Jonghyun always has that firmness and confidence in his voice that never fails to calms her whenever she is nervous...
"Ok,.. I'll see you soon then.." Jonghyun said
"Annyeong jongie!!!" Yoona finally said
"And.. Yoona-yah... I miss you too" jonghyun said before he hangs up
Yoona smiled happily.. Everytime jonghyun's being sweet, she always get this warm and fuzzy filling all over...
*one hour before dinner at SNSD dorm*
Yoona has been panicking in the kitchen for some time now.. She had this big idea of cooking jonghyun his favourite dish, Dwejji Gukbab (i will call it pork soup from here on end).
/Flashback one and half hour earlier/
"Yoongie-ah, do you even know how to cook that? Its not a simple dish you know" taeyeon asked her
"Kwenchana! Im goona get a recipe off the net, it'll be fine!"
/flash back ends/
"Unniieee!!!! Pwease pwease pwease help me!!!!!!!!" Yoona screamed in panic
Taeyeon just shook her head... She knew it'll be like this. If there is one thing yoona really at... That'll be cooking..
"What have you done so far.." Taeyeon asked as she comes into the kitchen
So in the end its taeyeon is the one who cooks most of thr stuff. Yoona is just being a kitchen hand following taeyeon's instruction
*one hour later*
DING DONG
The door bell rings
" i'll get it" sica said
"Gosh! He's really punctual isnt he?" Taeyeon tells yoona as she looks at the clock in the kitchen
Yoona just smiles and nods
"Thats my jonghyun" she thinks to herself
Sica slowly opens the door and sees jonghyun smiling at her.
"Annyeonghaseyo jessica-shi" jonghyun said while smiling
"Ah.. Dae annyeonghaseyo, please come in" sica smiled
"What a lovely gentleman.... And that smile... Yoongie has hit the jackpot this time" sica thinks
"Ahh dae..kamsahamida.. Here's a box of chocolate for everyone to share" jonghyun replied
"Ahhh you didnt have to trouble yourself" sica said as she recieved the MASSIVE box of chocolate
"Its no trouble at all" jonghyun smiles
"Please have a sit in the living room, the food will be ready soon" sica told jonghyun
Yoona showed herself wearing apron from the kitchen for a sec and said "just wait for a bit, k? Dinner is almost ready"
Jonghyun just smile and nods
"She looks so cute in apron ^_^ " jonghyun thinks
As he was bout to walked in, he saw three heads popped out the rooms, sunny's, yuri's and sooyoung"
"Jong-seobang!!!!!! The three screamed
"Annyeonghaseyo" Jonghyun greeted with a smile
"Come, come! Sit here!" Three of them dragged jonghyun to the sofa
"So! Tell us more about you!" Yuri asked
"Sure, what would you like to know?" Jonghyun replied
Yoona moved closer to the living room to hear what they're talking about
"How many girlfrind have you had in the past" sunny asked
"None" he replied
"Not one???!! Cheongmal!!! Eyy!! Kotjimall!!!! " all three claimed
"Ani... Its true... I was never really into girls. Its only ever been me and my guitar... Well... Until yoona came..." Jonghyun explained
"Awwwww... Soo sweet.... So yoona is your first love then... That is so cute... " sooyoung said
Yoona heard it and her face lit up like a christmas tree
"Omigosh!!! Im his first!!! Cheongmal!!!!" Yoona thinks in her mind
"How does uri-yoongie makes you feel?" Yuri asked
"She makes me feel alive... I have lived my life thus far in a safely manner... I never let anyone in and in turn i never get hurt... I like it that way.. In fact thats the reason why i acted cold in the beginning.. But after years of doing it.. The coldness kinda rubbed on me for real" he paused and smiled at this
"But then she came... Not by choice... Truth be told... She was kinda forced on me" he chuckled at this. The girls are giggling also
"Bwoohh!!!! Ouch!!!!" Yoona screamed after hearing that last bit jonghyun said, accidently touching a hot pot full of boiling soup
"Yahh!!! If you wanna listen, go outside!!" Taeyeon screamed
"A.. A.. Ani... I wasnt listening!!" Yoona lied
Taeyeon just shook her head in reply
By now the rest of the girls are already sitting around the sofa listening to jonghyun talks
"In the beginning it was all for the camera but then.. I get to know her... Not as the idol yoona, but as the girl yoona.."
"The line between filming and real life is slowly blurred.. Its got to the point where im not sure at all whether anything i say on camera is just for show or not"
"as we spend more and more time together, one thing is clear for me.. She has become like a little ray of sunshine in me"
"My usual cold days turns bright whenever she's around, and when she's gone i miss her like the morning misses the sun"
"It may have come a little slower to me.. Since this is all new for me..."
" But one day it finally dawned on me.. I dont know since when, or how exactly it happened... "
"I finally realised.. "
"I cant live without her...."
"Just imagining my life without seeing her smile....."
"It'll be no life at all..."
Jonghyun smiles. He has that dreamy eyes as he recalls all his experiences with yoona. He may not even realised that 7 girls are looking at her with awe..
Yoona on the other hand is also smiling.... She has that peace and serene look on her face... Every words she heard feels like an affirmation... an assurance from him to her...Making her feeling towards him grows strongers and stronger...so strong as if her hearts was about to burst...
Yoona knew that by now, jonghyun has managed to win the heart of her sisters
"Now! If he can go through tae unnie then it'll be all good, jongie fighting!!!" Yoona thinks
"Sooo beautifull..... " sunny finally said, snapping jonghyun back to reality
He saw that the rest of the girls is also there, he quickly got up and greetee them.
The girls in turn greeted him back.
"Food is ready!!!!" Yoona screamed
The girls quickly got up and prepared the table. Jonghyun offered to help only to be told "ani-yo jonghyun-shi its fine, you're a guest. Just sit down" by fany
In a flash.. Er... Well probably cos 9 girls are doing the work. The table is ready.
"Ok guys table's done" fany said
Jonghyun grabbed yoona's hand and sat her next to him.. Few of the girls saw this was happening, they went all giggly.. Yoona noticed and her face turned red.
They all are seated now.. Jonghyun noticed the pork soup, he then said "ahh! Pork soup! I love pork soup" he smiles
"Yeah, yoona found out you like pork soup after she look it up on the net..." Hyoyeon was talking when she was cut by yoona
"Unnie!!!!!!" She said while making handsigns telling her to be quite
Jonghyun is smiling, seeing how yoona acts. "My girlfriend is so cute" he thinks
They all began to eat.. Jonghyun is always one who loves to eat spicy food. There is a small plate of chilli sauce on the table but it was too far from him to reach. He noticed that seohyun is sitting right in front of it.
"Hyungsonim... Do you mind passing me the chilli sauce" jonghyun said
Everyone stopped eating...
"Hhyuu... Hyun.. So.. Nim?" Seohyun stuttered... Her face turning red knowing all faces are on her
"Why do you still call her hyungsonim?? The show is over for over 2 years now right?" Yoona asked
"Ohh.. Sorry... Its just a habit... Yonghwa-hyung is still to this day follows SNSD.. Well... Hyungso... I mean seohyun-shi.. Really..."
"Im sorry if i offend you.. I didnt mean to" jonghyun said sounding apologetic
"A.. A .. Ani.." Seohyun was about to reply when yuri said
"Ani-ya!! Why are you apologising for?? This is probably the best news she heard in a long time"
"Ahhhh hyunnie!!! So there is really something going on huh????" Hyoyeon asked
"Aniiii... We're just friends...." The maknae's face is burning in embarasment.
"So you do still talks??!!!! KYAA!!! KYAA!!!" The girls starting to scream
"Yahhh!! Stop screaming on dinner table!! We have a guest here!!" Taeyeon screamed
"Sorry, jonghyun-shi.. This girls really has no manners" taeyeon glared at them
"Ani-ya.. Its good to see dinner thats so lively.. Our dinners are always so quite"jonghyun replied
"Oh! I would have thought that boys dinner would be rowdy?!" Sica asked
"Well.. When we do sits together maybe thats true... But normally me and hyung just eat in our room while playing music. Jungshin always eats very late.. Only minhyuk eats on the table alone" jonghyun explained
All the girls just nodded, they heard that jonghyun and yonghwa is a music freak.. "I guess thats true", they think.
"jonghyun-shi..." Taeyeon speaks
"Oh.. Here we go...the last hurdle... Jongie fighting!!!" Yoona thinks
"Let me be honest with you... Uri yoongie is a fragile girl... As you may already know...therefore, My position with her having a boyfriend is... Well... Im always against it..."
"Unnie..." Yoona was about to say something when jonghyun holds her arms and giving her that "its ok, trust me" look
"So far... With all her past boyfriends.. My position has been proven again and again to be the right one... Can you prove to me now that you will be different?" She asked jonghyun while looking firmly at jonghyun's eyes
"I cant...." Jonghyun replied
Almost all the girls gasped at his answer.. They are now looking intently at jonghyun, knowing that he isnt done with his answer
"The thing you are asking me to show is not something that words can say and certainly not something that i can prove right now" jonghyun explained
"Trust and care is something that can only be proven in time"
"Im not here asking for you to trust me, i dont believe i have earned your trust yet.. .. Im only asking that you give me time"
"In time... You will see.. From my actions... And my deeds... And by then there will be no need for any words or proves..." Jonghyun finally done explaining
Taeyeon nods.. Seems satisfied with the answer she got
"Are you confident that you Can make it work? There is no point going through this if you are not sure if this will work out... Might as well end it now and spare the both of you a much more painful break ups in the future" taeyeon asked again
Yoona grabs jonghyun's hand tighter at this..
"I...... will not be able to make this work... But im really confident that WE.... will be able to make this work" jonghyun said as she looks at yoona
"I am new to this relationship things.."
" But im not naive... "
"I know how hard our road together lies ahead... Our fans... Our carrer... Our lifes.. Will be much more complicated by being together... "
"But i think.... "
"No...."
" I know... That if both me and yoona keep our strong resolve... Nothing will tear us apart" jonghyun finished his explanation by looking at yoona with a warm smile... Which yoona replied..
Taeyeon nods again
"Still not convinced!!!! Unnie!!!!! You're like worse than any parent!!! He's not asking to marry me!! Just to date!! Gosh!!!" Yoona screamed in her mind
She looks at jonghyun, she sees him still calm and steady as ever.
"I really admire how he can be so calm and composed.... Folks!! With the risk of sounding like a broken record, i will say this again... THIS is how a true man should act"
"Jonghyun-shi, do you trust uri-yoongie" taeyeon asked again
"Yes" he answered shortly
Everyone waited for an explanation but it never came
"Thats it?? Just yes?" Sooyoung blurted out.. She then realised what she did and straight away close her own mouth with her hand
"Yes,... Just yes... My trust to her is just like the word yes... Its absolute... No buts.. No ifs... I will trust that she will act with my best interest in heart.. Always"
"Though im not sure that my best interest in her heart will always end up well for me" jonghyun teased yoona
"Yah!!! " yoona hit jonghyun playfully on his arm
All the girls chuckled at his last remark and yoona's reaction
"Ok... Last thing i will ask is this.... Can you promise me that you will never hurt yoona... That you will always make her happy" taeyeon finally asked
"No i definitely can not... I am not perfect... In fact, i am far from it.... Im sure
as we live our life together, i will do stupid things.. "
"things that will hurt her... "
"Things That will make her cry... "
"But what i can promise you is this... Just like how she feels towards me... "
"I always keep her happines above mine... "
"I will always do my best to make her happy... "
"And if i do fail... And fail i will be.... I will never ever.. Give up on her... "
"I will never let her go...."
"That, i promise you" jonghyun ended his explanation
"Errrr..... Well not unless she really dont want me anymore.... Im not a psycho stalker or anything like that.." Jonghyun smile at this
All the girls laugh at this too
Yoona moves closer to jonghyun and whispers to his ear "I will never not want you anymore"
Jonghyun looks away feeling shy.. Her words kinda caught him off guard
Yoona noticed this and giggled..
"Jonghyun-ah.." Taeyeon suddenly drops the formal talk.
"Please continue to take care of uri-yoongie well....." Taeyeon said
"And welcome to the family.." She ended words with a warm smile..
"Ah dae... Kamsahamida... Noona.." Jonghyun replied
"HURRAYY!!!! " All the girls screamed
"All the serious stuff is over!!!" Sunny screamed
"Lets talk bout where you guys should date" fany asked
"No!!! Lets talk about what they did when yoona came home drunk" yuri screamed
"Oh goshh this is goona be along night.. Jongie-ahh.. Bian... :( " yoona said to jonghyun
"Kwenchana... Im fine...." Jonghyun said, smiling..
"Gosh... You smiles alot and so polite tonight... You should be like this more often" yoona said noticing him smiling all night
"Off course i have to be polite... They're your sisters" jonghyun said
So thats how the night went... Alot of cheering and laughing... Alot of teasing too... Mostly yoona and seohyun are teased though.. Yoona's really glad that jonghyun is not awkward at all.. He seems almost unaffected with the fact that all 9 members of SNSD is surrounding him, scrutinising his every move. Instead he kinda looks like he's actually enjoying himself..
Before they know it, its passed midnight..
Jonghyun stood up from the stool he sat on and said
"Its getting late.. I probably should head back.."
Yoona's face fell...to her, It felt like they just saw each other... And now he's leaving...
"Do you have to go?... :'( " yoona said to jonghyun
"Jonghyun turned to yoona. He softly pets her head and said
"We'll see each other in 2 days time for filming, remember?" Jonghyun said gently to yoona
All the girls are watching this moment, but it seems jonghyun doesnt care at all.. He could only see yoona..
Yoona however fully aware how her members goes all "awww, kyaaa' uuhhh" on the background, she turns red almost instantly
Yoona just nods to jonghyun and said.
"Come, i'll take you to the door"
Jonghyun smiled, he turned to the other girls. Bows to them properly and said
"Thank you for the dinner, i had a wonderful time. Im sorry if i intrude in any way"
"Goshh you are soo polite... Jonghyun-ahhh just relax.. We're family now!!!" Sunny said
"Yeah jonghyun!! Just relax!!!" Fany also said
"Ah dae.. Noona.. I will try" he said bowing again
The girls just shook their heads and smiles..
They bid him their final goodbye and finally jonghyun walked off.
After jonghyun walked out of the door, yoona grab the back of his shirt.
Yoona puffed up her cheek, pouted...
"Whats wrong?" Jonghyun smiles and says
"2 days is too looooooong...." Yoona said childishly
"Ottokaji... I've got a filming tomorrow so i will be busy... I will call you if you want..." Jonghyun said
Yoona nods her head furiously, like a little kid..
"Arrasso.. I will call you as often as i can" jonghyun said..
"Oh.. By the way.. What are you filming tomorrow anyways" yoona asked
"Its the new drama im casted in" jonghyun replied
"Oh... I see... .... ..... ....."
"!!!!!!! "
"The one with that flirty jiyeon??" yoona asked
"Flirty jiyeon??? Hahaha" jonghyun broke into laughter
"Why are you laughing??" Jiyeon stomped his foot, crossed her arms, looked away and pouts..
Suddenly yoona feels jonghyun hugging her from the back while she looks away from him
"Is my girlfriend jealous?.. " jonghyun asked cheekily
"Bw.. Bwohh!! A.. Ani!!! Im just telling the truth.. She really did tr...." She stops speaking when she feels jonghyun heavy breathing creeps up below... to her neck..
Yoona body heats up almost instantly...
Jonghyun said in a husky voice...
"The one i 'want'... Is only you...."
He gave yoona's neck a soft and gentle kiss before breaks the hug and said
"Ok?"
Yoona just looks down with red face nods.
"You better go in now.. Its cold out her.." Jonghyun said.
Yoona just nods, she is still shy and cant get over the neck kiss,
she turned and was bout to go in when she turned back.
She moves really close to jonghyun, tip toed and peck him on the cheek
She smiles but still looks away to hide her embarassment and said "annyeong jongie"
As she turned and walked in, she could still hear jonghyun's reply....
"Annyeong yeobo-yahh"
