“Good morning, your majesty…” Hyuna bowed as she greeted the king politely

“Good morning” Jiyong greeted back, smiled

“You looked to fresh today….” Hyuna commented on Jiyong’s so-fresh look

“Really? Well… I got a nice sleep last night” Jiyong smiled even brighter, remembered his rare encounter with his wife last night.

He was being truth… he got his best rest ever last night. Never before in his life that he had feel so peaceful…, like when Chaerin was beside him…, lulled him to sleep….

“I see...” Hyuna gave her alluring smile. “So…, you must be ready for the invasion?” She asked

Jiyong was quiet for a moment… then he looked at Hyuna. “Sure”

Hyuna smiled again. “Then let’s go to the meeting, your majesty… the ministers have been waiting for you….” Hyuna said as she guided her king to the royal’s meeting room

On the other hand, Chaerin was watching her husband walked away with Hyuna, entered the meeting room. She couldn’t hide her displeasure

“Your majesty….” Seri called her

“Yes?” Chaerin answered lazily, without even looked at her servant. She was too occupied with the thought of the war….

“Your breakfast is ready…” Seri informed

“I’ll take it later” Chaerin answered shortly

“But…”

“I said I’ll take it later… please leave me alone, Seri-yah…” Chaerin cut Seri’s words and gave her a strong look, a sign of her bad mood

Seri realized it and bowed, left her burning queen

“Why does he always listening to that witch?!” Chaerin grumbled. Then she remembered her conversation with Hyuna before…

Flashback

Chaerin woke up early in the morning and found herself fell asleep beside her husband. She got up hurriedly and walked to the bathroom, washed up and dressed up again. Once she exited the chance room, Jiyong was still deep in his sleep. Chaerin secretly smiled and decided to exit their bedroom.

Once she opened the door, she found Hyuna was already standing there and that lady gave her surprised look when she found Chaerin was the one who opened the door

“Hyuna? What are you doing here?” Chaerin asked

“Oh…, I want to see the king, your majesty” Hyuna said casually

“This early?” Chaerin asked with stern voice. She felt that Hyuna was being too far from her line

Hyuna sensed Chaerin’s dislike tone and grinned cockily

“Oh…, the king hadn’t told you? It’s a habit…. I always woke him up and reminded him about the royal meeting before…” Hyuna started to bragged about her closeness with the King. She knew that it would make Chaerin felt irritated

Beside…, her father told her before, that he speculated there was a political reason behind the marriage. Meant…, there was still a chance for her to be Jiyong’s wife, and be the queen after she kicked Chaerin out of the palace

So, she decided to go after her dream…

“Really?” Chaerin asked, tried to control her raging emotion

“Yes….” Hyuna smiled evilly, just added the fire on Chaerin’s heart

“Well, you don’t need to do that anymore from now” Chaerin stated, and their eyes were met. “It’s my duty… as his QUEEN” she said, emphasized the ‘queen’ word

Hyuna was lost for a moment, but she wouldn’t give up. With her signature cocky smile, she spoke to the queen

“You might be his queen…, but I am his ‘woman’….” Hyuna said, made Chaerin’s eyes widened to hear the ‘his woman’ things

“Mwo?” Chaerin couldn’t hide her anger

“You see…. King Jiyong was supposed to be mine. I am the one who knows him the best” Hyuna started

“I know what he likes…, what he doesn’t like…, I know everything about him” Hyuna continued while Chaerin could only listened in silence

“He always shares everything with me. You know why? Because he trusts me, I am the one who’s always with him since we were kids. I was with him on every phase on his life. He always asks for my advice for everything…” Hyuna kept bragging, loved to see Chaerin’s being lose

“It was before…” Chaerin voiced. “Before he has ME”

The queen gazed sharply. She hated for being lose. Always

“Now you have to learn to not step too far from your border line” Chaerin reminded

“Why would I?” Hyuna challenged

“Because I AM THE QUEEN now. And I can easily punish you for being this impolite toward me” Chaerin kept glaring

“Just do it…. if you can” Hyuna smirked. “For your information, QUEEN…. Your King will never let that happen. He needs me…. in fact…, he will do what I tell him to do” the lady smirked even more

“So just enjoy your time being a QUEEN, for we don’t know how long it will last…” Hyuna said before she left Chaerin

Chaerin was waiting for the meeting result. She was waiting for her husband in his private library. She hated every time the conversation with Hyuna this morning came back to her mind

It was like forever until someone finally opened the library door

“What are you doing here?” Jiyong asked, surprised by Chaerin’s presence

“Waiting for you” Chaerin answered strongly

“Waiting for me?” Jiyong asked back

Chaerin sighed and walked to the King. “I have something to talk” She said

“What is it?” Jiyong asked straightforwardly, and rather coldly…. Well, his mind was still too busy with all the problems they were talking in the meeting before

“The invasion…., will you really go?” Chaerin asked

Jiyong looked at Chaerin. “Yes. I will go to the battlefield two days from now” Jiyong answered

Hearing that answer, Chaerin’s emotion rose instantly

“So…, you’re really going…” Chaerin chuckled, feeling stupid for believing Jiyong might cancel the invasion…, for her

“I should go” Jiyong stated. At the same time, from the window, Chaerin saw Hyuna walked outside and her mind was invaded by Hyuna’s words…

“He will do what I tell him to do”

“So…, Hyuna suggested so?” the question slipped from automatically

“Yeah. All the ministers suggested the same” Jiyong answered. He didn’t notice Chaerin’s jealousy on her question

Maybe…, the queen was jealous. She just hadn’t realized it yet. Or maybe it was just because her hatred for being lose. And hearing Jiyong’s answer was like a big smack for her

‘So it’s true…. He would do anything for her? Why didn’t he marry her instead?’ Chaerin grumbled in her head
