“Please tell me everything from the start.” the man in white smiles as he folds his hands under his chin. “I’m here to listen.” and I swear, a sudden sense of deja vu hits me when he said that.

   “V,”

   It is time, is what I would like to say after hearing her voice. My salvation has come to take me away from this wretched place. I look at her. Was it hope, sadness or anger in her eyes the moment I looked? Or was it… Nothing?

   I shake the thoughts off my mind. Anyway, I wouldn’t see her again after this, it isn’t a disappointment, really. But, I guess there’s this feeling that it’ll take time for me to adjust not seeing her everyday.

   She motions for me to follow her after pushing the barred doors that divided me from my freedom. I take a step forward from my study table on the far left corner and then another until I am no longer inside my prison walls. Finally, I’m out.

   She turns away from me and leads me out from all these prisoners. I am different from them is what I’ve been told. I wasn’t sick like them. I look down. How pathetic. The nurse slightly shifts to the left, allowing me to enter through the white door. I look back at the prisoners, just to give myself a boost of confidence that I am not going to see them ever again and I’ll never be like them.

   As soon as I enter the corridor, the nurse closes the door behind me and walks to the left wing. I follow her without saying anything. I don’t know where she’s going to take me and even if I ask, she wouldn’t answer me. I only sigh and let her lead me the way. The walls are white and there are several paintings hanging on the wall, each depicting great doctors and founders of this hospital. We turn to the left and enter a room. This one is different from the rest of the rooms we passed by, it gives off a weird aura that I can’t seem to ignore.

   And I hate it.

   The nurse stops by the bedside and smiles at me, “V, sit here.” then she goes out of the room without another word. The bed fascinates me, what are they about to do to me? Are they going to operate on me? Tear my flesh and-
