there’s only two places in the whole of south korea where nam taehyun can honestly feel like he could (truly) breathe. there’s a bridge back in hanam, where he used to live, which connected two towns together, an abandoned bridge that overlooks a field of green and a strip of gravel for a seemingly infinite line of moving vehicles, parting the green. and seoul has a park, hidden to the ignorant eye, where one seems to only find when they need it the most.

there was an unspoken agreement between seungyoon and taehyun, the latter wanted, no, needed to be alone. after holding taehyun’s hand and squeezing it, nam taehyun was alone. was it five minutes? fifteen? half an hour? most people wouldn’t have known if a whole hour had passed, with taehyun sat in the exact same position without moving a millimeter, if not for the tell tale signs of his inhalation and exhalation. taehyun felt physically restrained in his room, the four walls seemingly getting smaller every single second.

after sending a text message, he left his phone on his bed. the black sticky note falling on the floor as he stood up as he moved to grab a hoodie and closed the door.
