HOYA'S POV

I was standing outside of his house as the other 6 shadowed me

The midnight moonlight shone down upon as I was confused why it was so bright when it’s dark. I looked up once admiring the bright yellow stars.

“Let’s go,” I whispered and I pulled out my sword and the others followed along. We entered the house sneakily as there were still guards in the house though we were able to dodge the ones on the outside. The 7 of us stood in line and I reached for the bedroom handle. I turned it slowly but stopped

This door will be our end…this kill will be our end. It will be our last…

FLASHBACK

“Hey guys,” TOP hyung greeted once we entered the house after coming back from the island

No one replied. Everyone just collapsed on the couch and stared blankly

TOP hyung stood in front of the depleted group of boys and just sighed

“Acting like this won’t change anything,” he replied

And still no one replied

“You need to do this…for your parents…for me,”

“And when will things start to be for us? When will we ever do things for us? When can we start thinking about ourselves?” L asked as he looked Top hyung straight in the eye

“I don’t know,” he answered

“No, you do know. You just don’t want to say it. You don’t want to tell us that in the field of assassination…no…no happiness will come,” L replied more angrily than before

“That’s enough L,” sungkyu hyung said calmly yet sternly

“You’re right, I don’t want to admit it so bluntly but I’ll be more honest. When it comes to being a killer, an assassin, you can never be happy. Why? Because even when you relieve yourself from this area, you’re past will continue to haunt you. The people you killed and the guilt for killing those people will stick with you for eternity. Maybe to some, they can forget everything and start fresh but sooner or later people, the government, or the police will come and hunt you down. They will send you to jail and sentence you to either a life time of imprisonment or even maybe the death penalty. But if no one catches you, then the time you have to live in this lifetime will feel like a jail itself. You will always feel lonely dark, and cold,”

“Yeah that’s true but it’s better to stop now then to continue to do what we do,” sungyeol pointed out

“And if we would feel this way do we need to continue?” woohyun asked

“I promise you. This will be your last mission and you guys will be free to do whatever you want with your life,” TOP hyung promised

“Can’t we just stop right now?” sungjong asked

“No,” he rejected strongly

“Why not?”

“I said no,”

“And I’m asking you why,”

TOP hyung didn’t answer

FLASHBACK ENDS

“What are you…?” I heard a girl’s voice say behind me but I recognized that voice anywhere

I froze

“You’re not here…to k...kill my parents are you?” she asked

I didn’t respond

Few seconds later, I felt her hands wrapped around mind and she started dragging me out. She signaled the other girls to do the same and soon all 14 of us were outside

I turned back around and was about to walk back in but she stopped me. She turned me around and slapped me. I was shocked but I just looked up calmly. Her facial expression was different than mine, her face was covered with tears

“Bastard. Bastard. Bastard,” she kept reciting as she pounded her two fists on my chest and I let her be and a few moments after, she stopped but she rested her fist on my chest. She sniffled softly and looked up and once she did I looked away

“Look at me,” she ordered. I didn’t listen and continued to look elsewhere

She grabbed my chin and made me look at her. For what seemed to be hours, we looked into each other’s eyes but I regained myself once I heard L yell. I looked up and saw the couples all talking to one another and all seemed to be the same. The boys were trying to free themselves while the girls were trying to talk to us, trying to stop us, trying to make us look at them and trying to make us feel weak.

“Lee Howon,” she called out. This time I looked at her without a fight.

Suddenly she went down on her knees and just looked down on the floor. Although, I couldn’t see her face, I knew she was crying

“When you first revealed everything. You don’t know how stupid I felt. How angry, wronged, hurt and betrayed I felt. I wanted to kill myself for trusting you but now I realized it. I realized how much you lice me.” She said and looked up with clear tears rolling down her face

“You didn’t want to hurt me but you had no choice. You never knew you’d fall in love with me, you never knew how much you would change after meeting me. When you said you loved me you were genuine, so were the way you treated me, and the person you showed me was the hidden you that I want to see every day,” she paused as she tried regaining her composure but instead broke down again

“I love you hoya please,” she begged me as she rubbed her two hands together as if asking for forgiveness from her father

“Please just stop and let’s go somewhere else. Somewhere we can start again,”

I got down on one knee and picked her up by her shoulders

I was about to lean in and hug her but was interrupted

“Aw, how sweet,”

I looked up to see Taecyeon with his gang lined up behind him. I pushed her aside and got my sword out

“Kill them,” taecyeon ordered his men. The 7 of us were surrounded in 7 different circles while girls watched us in fear. One by one taecyeon’s men went down and soon we were done but more men came. Suddenly, we could hear the police sirens

“Hoya!” I heard her yell and saw her being dragged away. She stretched her hand out for me

“BORA!” I yelled in return and tried rescuing her but it was useless. I couldn’t save her. She was already thrown in a van and was driving away

“BORA!” I yelled again and I could hear her call my name multiple times but soon I couldn’t hear her at all as taecyeon and his van drove off. By now all of taecyeon’s men were on the floor as the 7 of us held swords with blood dripping down them. We were soon surrounded by cops

“PUT YOUR HANDS UP!” an officer yelled as officers surrounded us in a circle and all of them were holding guns and so it was pointless to run

I dropped my sword and the others followed. I was then tackled by an officer and he cuffed me and roughly threw me in the police car

“Bora,” I whispered as we drove away. I looked out the car and soon it started raining and my tears followed the raindrops

“We should have listened to them,” Woohyun said as he was sitting next to me

“Bora, she’s gone…Taecyeon. That bastard took her,” I said as I felt like I was losing my mind

“Not just her but the other girls as well,” L whispered sadly

“Taecyeon will hurt them if we don’t find them,”

“Wait,” I said

“Do you remember taecyeon saying we’re not his targets?” I asked and slowly the boys nodded

“What if the girls were his targets?” I asked “he keeps taking them and torturing them. What if they’re his targets?” I asked again

“Then what did he mean by hitting two birds with one stone? Us and the girls?” wooyhun asked

“No, that can’t be right. He said we aren’t his targets. It doesn’t have anything to do with us. We were involved because of TOP hyung. What about Bora and the girls and her parents? But what would Taecyeon have anything to do with the girls?”

There was silence in the car

“Also, I find it weird that TOP hyung never researched more into Taecyeon. Taecyeon wasn’t our first communicator but our tenth and like the others TOP hyung always looked into them, with really detailed information. He killed the other 9 because they ran off but it’s strange that TOP hyung only found out about taecyeon a few weeks ago,” I pointed out.

I saw the officers looking at us in the review mirror, listening to our conversation. I got the key I managed to steal from the cop and unlocked my cuff and unlocked the others with my hands behind my back so they wouldn’t notice but too late

“what are you guys doing back there?!” and we showed them our freed hands and they immediately stopped the car and both cops got out and opened both sides of the door and woohyun and L knocked them out in a second. The police cars behind us stopped as well and all the officers from the other 2 cars got out and woohyun and L were fighting them while I went to free the others.

“What took you so long?”

“No time to explain. We need to go home and get answers,”

“For what?”

I spotted a parked car nearby and I broke in and started the car and the others hopped in the back of the truck

Woohyun and l explained all of my suspicions and they just nodded their head in silence. Suddenly we heard police sirens behind us

“Damn,” I muttered

“Pull over. Pull over,” the officer commanded through the speaker.

“Sungyeol I can’t lose the cops in time. Can you get the information perhaps on your phone?

“Yeah, but it’ll take a while,”

“Okay. Do it,” I ordered as I turned the wheel crazily

“Boys, you guys have guns right?”

“Yeah,” they answered in unison

“Everyone but Sungyeol shoots the police cars’ tires but don’t shoot at the same tire and do it in one shot. We don’t have extra bullets,” I commanded and they started shooting and soon less police cars were behind us

“We lost them,” Sungyeol informed. I sped up and in no time we arrived at home. We got out quickly and went inside and found it empty and dark. Sungyeol ran to the computer and started typing away

“Found it,” Sungyeol whispered in success

“Yoon Jae Hyuk, the new CEO of the hotel line DIAMOND WORLD, held a memorial service for dead nephew, Yoon Gi Su. Yoon Gi Su is the 10 year-old son to the recently dead Yoon Jae Su, the old CEO of the company. That was a newspaper article I found and Yoon Gi Su is…” and Sungyeol started typing again and soon a picture of a young boy came on

“That looks like…”

“He used us,” Sungjong said bitterly

“That’s what happened. That’s what really happened…” woohyun whispered softly

“Find them,” I ordered

“Find bora and the other girls. If this is this is really the reason behind everything then taecyeon and he will really kill them,” I said worriedly

“HURRY UP AND FIND THEM!” I yelled and suddenly I heard a thud from upstairs

“That’s weird it says…”

“…They’re here,”

I got a gun and cautiously walked upstairs with the others right behind me. Everyone stood in front to f their own room door and kicked it open. I looked in my room and found a slightly beaten Bora tied up

I took the rope out of and started untying her

“Hoya...”

I threw the rope on the floor and she tackled me with a hug and started crying

“It’s okay. Shhh…it’s okay,” I whispered as I was her head trying to calm her down

“He said…he said my dad…my dad he,”

“It’s okay. Don’t talk…shhh…It’s okay,”

I knew what she was talking about. Taecyeon told her everything. Soon she fell asleep and I laid her on my bed and left her a note. I walked out of my room and saw the others

“We’ll be back,” L told Dasom

“Oppa,”

“Until we come back, take care of Bora,” I said and the girls nodded. Before I left, I looked back at her one last time before going downstairs.

We grabbed our extra swords and reloaded the gun

“Do you knew where he is?” sungkyu asked

“I have an idea,”

“Where?”

“The orphanage he adopted us at,”

“We have no time. Let’s go,” Sungkyu hyung instructed

We got on our individual motorcycles and drove to where it all started….

BORA’S POV

I opened my eyes slowly and remembered what happened

“HOYA!” I yelled and the girls surrounded me

“Him and the others went out,”

“NO. He can’t. He’s going to get killed. He can’t,” I was panicked

“BORA CALM DOWN!” GNA unnie soother as her and the others were holding me down trying to stop me from leaving

“NO. NO! HE’S GOING TO DIE. That guy said so. THEY’RE GOING TO GET KILLED!” I yelled throwing a fit

“BORA UNNIE!” hyunyoung yelled. I settled down

I wiped my tears off my cheeks

“They’re going to die,” I said as I used one hand to flip back my hair

“Oppa said he’s coming back. Look he left a note for you saying so,” Dasom tried to reassure me as she handed me the note.

It read:

                Bora-yah, I’m sorry for coming too late but I’m glad you’re safe now. Bora-yah, the boys and I went out. It’s time to end things right? I’ll be back, I promise, so be safe. I love you

I held onto the note tightly. I got out of bed and tied my hair

“I can’t just sit here and wait. I’m going,”

I ran downstairs with the others yelling my name behind me

Suddenly someone rang the doorbell and we all froze in place

“Bora-yah,” I heard my mom’s voice call me through the door 

“Mommy?” I called out and opened the door and indeed it was my mom standing in front of me with the girls’ moms beside her and an officer behind her. Mom let herself in and the others followed her.

“What are you doing here?” I asked as she sat me down on the couch

“How’d you find me?” I continued to ask

“That Hoya boy told me you’d be here,”

“How did you…”

“Mom and the others were held captive with our husbands but the man that held us let us go and while I was waiting outside, Hoya and his friends came and told me you were here and not to worry because he’s going to end everything,”

“Umma, Hoya he…”

‘I’m not your mother,” she interrupted coldly

“W…what? Umma,”

“I’m not your mother,” she said more carefully

“Then who…”

“You’re m y niece,”

I felt like everything around me was moving. I held my head and Hyorin, who was sitting next to me, held my hand and gave a sad smile

“Your parents passed away in a car accident and we had to take care of you and when you were younger you had an older brother but something happened and he was announced dead but…”

“But he’s not really dead is he?”

She shook her head

“Are you saying the man that held you captive is my...is my brother?” I asked and she nodded her head

“Who is he? My brother I mean?”

“You’re brother goes by the name of TOP or…”

“Wait TOP?” I asked as I stood abruptly

“Yes,” and she handed me two pictures

I dropped the pictures once I realized who it was and ran out

“BORA-YAH,” I heard her call me

TOP’S POV

I stood in front of the 7 idiotic teenagers that were tied up as they came in voluntarily

“Morons,” I scoffed as I looked at the pathetic idiots

“YOU USED US!” dongwoo yelled and I chuckled

“Do you not feel even one ounce of guilt toward us?” sungkyu asked tiredly

“It’d be a lie if I said I didn’t but right now I don’t care of such feelings as guilt,”

"bastard!" L spat 

"now now child. you need to understand why i'm doing this,"

"and what is that?"

"dear children don't even know the entire story. Well i guess i have to explain it to you now..."

BORA'S POV

i arrived at the site and the orphanage was surrounded by dozens of police cars with officers talking to one another trying to find a solution to everything. i went up to a man who seemed to be the head of everyone 

"excuse me sir?" i called out

"what?!" he asked in sheer annoyance 

i cleared my throat 

"a couple of minutes ago i discovered that the man that is holding everyone captive is..is my b..."

"Well what is it?" he urged me to continue

"he's my b...brother," i finally spat out 

"So?" the idiotic and mentally ill officer asked. I was getting annoyed, i mean i'm trying to help these dimwit and they don't understand that 

"Can i try talking to him?" 

"Here," and he handed me a cellphone and when i placed the phone to my ear i could hear it ringing 

"hello?" a deep husky man answered 

"TOP?" i asked 

"who is this?'

"o...o...oppa. It's me Bora," i answered hesitantly. 

i was not used to calling anyone oppa. 

the other line was silent 

"H...hello?" i called out 

"Bora?" i heard him call my name softly and i felt myself cringe 

"Oppa, I know what happened and I understand your pain but you need to let them go, they did nothing wrong,"

"I never told them to come to me, they came voluntarily,"

"Oppa, please let them go," i pleaded 

"I'm sorry I can't," he said and was about to end the call

"WAIT! Don't hang up! Oppa I understand the pain you recieved but you need to let it go. Everyone makes mistakes and appa just..."

"Appa? WHY ARE YOU CALLING HIM APPA?! THAT MAN IS NOT YOUR FATHER! HE KILLED OUR FATHER!" 

I whimpered as I could tell i was about to cry again but i in my tears as i knew i had to be brave 

"Oppa, listen to me. He may not be my father but he took care of me for..."

"That's what you call taking care of you? He showed you no love. No one in that household showed you love! You were always by yourself and you're telling me not to hurt him?"

"Oppa let's just talk it out. Why do we have to hurt people. If you do the same thing he did to our dad then we're no different so oppa please just stop," 

"no..."

"OPPA!" i yelled furiously 

"BORA!" 

"Oppa fine, then please just let the others go. Please oppa...i love him....Please," I begged 

He then ended the call

"DAMN!" I yelled as i shut the phone 

I was about to run in but officers stopped me 

"LET ME GO!" i yelled as i kicked and screamed trying to break free 

"There are innocent people in there that are going to die if i don't save them!" i shrieked as officers started dragging me backwards 

Suddenly figures ahead started coming out of the building and I ran towards them and it was infinite 

"YOU GUYS!" i yelled as i ran towards them

"are you guys alright?" i asked and they nodded 

i spotted someone missing "Where's....?"

The boys shook their heads 

"He won't come out," Sungkyu oppa said 

"What? Why?"

"He said he's not coming out until he gets your dad out," Sungjong said as he looked back

"no no no no no," i recited as i was going to run inside but the oppas held me from doing so 

"let me go," i asked as calmly and nicely as possible but they shook their heads no and tried dragging me back to where the police officers were 

"LET ME GO!" i yelled louder and was able to break free and as i ran towards the orphanage. Hoya popped his head out the window 

"HOYA!" i yelled as i waved to him in excitement but that smile washed off my face once i realized he was covered in blood 

"BORA! MOVE AWAY! THERE'S A BOMB!" he yelled back and i shook my head no and he signaled the guys to take me away and of course they listened. I was powerless against 6 strong guys so I was forcefully pulled away. His head disappeared and I kept calling for him but I didn't see him 

I tried getting out of their grasp as I kicked and screamed but it was no use then...

I fell to the floor and stretched my hand out and yelled 

"HOYA!" 

The orphanage was in flames and there was no sight of him

I was about to run in but of course people stopped me 

Once again, i collapsed to the floor 

Yelling in despair, crying in pain and hoplessness 

"You said you would come back. YOU PROMISED YOU WOULD COME BACK! YOU PROMISED!WHY?"

I yelled and sobbed but though I was venting my pain it did not help at all, the pain that arose in my heart because of that one man wouldn't disappear. It would once he came back, once he just appears out of nowhere and just laughs saying it was all a joke. Only if...only if it was a dream. But it wasn't 

The fire subsided after the firefighters set it out and police officers went in to find the bodies and they found my brothers and my fathers but hoya...his body was missing 

I had a bit of hope left but once I did, my hope was crushed after the police officers found only a skeleton left buried underneath piles of concrete 

They pulled the bodies out and once I saw it 

My eyes, my heart, my arms, my legs, my lungs, my brain, my everything...it seemed to have been gone 

My soul seemed to have left me 

"Bora-yah," GNA unnie called as she too wept along with the others 

"Sungkyu oppa...he promised. He promised he would come back...he promised," I kept repeating as I wept 

He looked away as tears started rolling down his face 

"Oppa...he's not dead is he? This is all fake right? He's hiding somewhere right?" I asked as I kept trying to make him look at me but the 6 all avoided my eye

"Unnie...unnie, he's not dead...he's not dead," I kept telling myself 

Hyorin grabbed my face and made me look at her 

She was crying 

"B...Bora, Hoya...he...he's d...dead,"

"no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!" I yelled over and over again 

Hyorin held my face against her chest as she held me, as she wept with me 

I pounded my chest as i wanted the pain to stop but it wasn't going away

"Unnie, i loved him but he left. He promised he'll come back...he promised," I said as i cried in her chest 

I looked up once and saw the morning sun

Hoya...please, please just be alive

3 YEARS LATER 

I stood in front of his grave and placed the yellow daisies 

I smiled sadly 

3 years Hoya...it's been 3 years since that day

I always hoped that an unimaginable miracle happened but that didn't happen

"Hoya, I miss you so much," I whispered 

UNKNOWN POV

I was only a few feet away from her and I looked at her sadly looking at a grave that had my name on it but did not belong to me 

Bora-yah 

That night, your father died. I was right there and I couldn't save him or your brother

I'm sorry

FLASHBACK

After I yelled at Bora to get away from the building and once I knew she was secure, I went back into the building to drag his body out but I heard the sound of the ticking bomb and sweat covered my entire body

I was running out of time, I can't save him 

With hesitation I ran out the building but I went through the back door. Even when I was out of the building I could still hear the sound of the ticking. I ran away as far as possible but that only resulted to my fall

I landed in the ocean behind the building and wave currents washed my unconscious body away. Further than I expected. Once I woke, I found myself to be in a hospital bed one year after the bomb and I remembered everything vividly

Bora-yah, I do not know what is holding me back from seeing you again, from meeting you, from embracing you warmly and telling you that I love you

Even after 3 years passed, I can't bring myself to present myself to you again

I am not confident 

Bora-yah...i'm sorry but it isn't time yet 

I miss you and I love you, I thought 

I walked away in the sunset, not looking back because if i do, I feel like I can't appear in front of her until death

I walked off to regain my confidence to face her again

I'll be back

Just like I promised, I'll be back...

BORA'S POV

I stared at his grave sadly and looked up 

"I know you're watching over me. I grieved over you for 3 years and I think it's time to stop. I will always love you but I can not always hope for a miracle. I'm sorry and I love you," I whispered into the sky 

“Love is not written on paper, for paper can be erased. Nor is it etched on stone, for stone can be broken. But it is inscribed on a heart and there it shall remain forever.”
