What is your wish?

“Woohyun, you screwed up that part. Do the dance on your own.” Sunggyu commanded. “The rest of you could take a rest.” Sunggyu said. Infinite are practicing for their comeback, and Woohyun doesn’t quite get one part of the dance. They are all tired, of course. Sunggyu understands that. But he, as the leader of Infinite can’t let their reputation of being 100% synchronized go down, right? Woohyun gritted his teeth and continue dancing the part where he messed up. The rest are watching him with pitiful eyes. “Woohyun. Stop. Do it from the start.” Sunggyu said. Woohyun took a deep breath and started the dancing from the beginning. “Woohyun. Do it right.” Sunggyu said again. He didn’t want to be this hard to Woohyun, but he needs Woohyun to get the dance, or the CEO would scold him again. Sunggyu sighed as he sees Woohyun screwed up that part again. “Woohyun. I told you to do it right, why are you always screwing it—“ “CUT IT OUT!” Woohyun finally snapped. “Can’t you see that I’m tired? I’m stressed? Pushing me like this wouldn’t help.” Woohyun said. “Woohyun, we need to get this dance right—“ “And you thought you’re already the best?” Woohyun said mockingly. “You’re dancing is not as good as you thought, anyway.” Woohyun said again. Sunggyu’s shoulders are trembling. “You’re not even sing better than I do, they chose you as a leader just because you’re the oldest.” Woohyun spat harshly. Sunggyu is biting his lips, his head hung low.  “I’m stressed, and my limbs are in pain. If I was a leader, which I should’ve probably been anyway, I would never let my member got stressed. What a good leader you are.” Woohyun said in a mocking tone and left, slamming the practice room’s door. Sunggyu’s knees are trembling and he can’t hold it anymore, and he collapsed to the floor. “Hyung…” “Let hyung alone, Dongwoo hyung. And Hoya hyung, Woohyun hyung will calm down on his own, so there’s no use on chasing him.” Myungsoo firmly said. Sunggyu is holding back his tears, he can’t cry in front of s because of a small matter like this. “You are all… dismissed. I would like to stay here for some more minutes.” Sunggyu said quietly. “Okay then, hyung.” Sungyeol said, and everyone is heading to the door. Myungsoo is the last one to go out, but he didn’t go out before looking back for the last time. “Hyung… A nap will help you calm down.” Myungsoo said smiling and Sunggyu just smile weakly as a response.

Am I really a bad leader?  Sunggyu thought on his own. He is now lying down in the middle of the practice room. He sighed for the nth time, and closed his eyes. Myungsoo is probably right, I need some rest.  A little nap won’t hurt. He thought, and he starts drifting to sleep.

But he doesn’t know what awaits him after.

Sunggyu wakes up, or thinks that he is. But what he saw is not the sweat filled, cold, and full of mirrors practice room. Instead, he is on a white room, and the room seemed to not have any kind of end. He is confused. “Where am I?” Sunggyu said to himself. He stands up, and looks around. This is clearly not the practice room, he thought to himself. “It’s clearly not.” Someone said. Sunggyu shots up and look around, but he found no one. “W-Who are you?” Sunggyu said, terrified. “That’s not the only question you would ask, right?” The voice said again, and then let out a small chuckle. “W-Well, yes! Please show yourself!” Sunggyu shouted. But his voice only resonated and comes back to himself. He is beyond confused now, until someone pats his shoulder. He jumped in surprise, and turn his back wide eyed. “Wh-Who are you?” Sunggyu asked again. He saw a very pretty woman, with long blond hair, and wings? Sunggyu thinks that he must have been dreaming or something. “You’re not dreaming.” The woman chuckled. “S-So this is real?” Sunggyu asked, still shocked. “That depends.” The woman said. “W-What are you, then?” Sunggyu asked curiously. “An Angel? Or whatever you humans usually called someone with wings. But yes, you can say that I’m an angel.” She smiled and answered Sunggyu’s question. “So… I’m dead?” Sunggyu asked again. He is horrified about the thought of his death, what would s react? His fans, Inspirits? He can’t bear the thought, in his mind was playing the scene when Sungjong, Myungsoo, and Sungyeol cried, while Dongwoo tried to make them happy, the usual moodmaker, but he knows, that deep down, Dongwoo is sad too. Hoya, tried to act tough, biting his lips and holding back his tears, because the leader he used to know is not there anymore. And Woohyun—

Woohyun.

Would he mourn for me? Sunggyu thought suddenly, and let a sad smile on showing on his lips.

“No, you’re not dead. Yet.” The angel chuckled again, and Sunggyu let out a relieved sigh. But he still thinks about Woohyun. He sighed again. “So where am I now? And why are you here?” Sunggyu asked. “I, know where we are. But, I may not tell you where we are. But I’m sure I’m here for one thing.” The angel smiled.

“Then, why are you here?” Sunggyu asked, curiously.

“I’m here to grant your wish.”

Sungjong slowly tiptoed to the practice room, he has been told to bring back the leader to the dorm. He thought about the leader’s fight with the main vocal, thank god Woohyun had already calmed down, and they deemed that it’s safe for Sunggyu to be in the dorm right now.

He slowly opens the practice room’s door, and he finds the leader, sleeping on the floor. He looks so peaceful, Sungjong thought. He walks slowly towards the sleeping leader, and he crouched down next to him.

“Hyung.” Sungjong shakes the leader slowly, because he knows that Sunggyu is a light sleeper, so he probably wakes up soon.

But nothing happens.

Sunggyu stays still, closing his eyes.

Sungjong frowned, and he starts shaking the leader with more strength.

But still, nothing happened. He starts to panic, and shouted Sunggyu’s name. But after a few failed attempts, he gives up. His face paled, seeing Sunggyu can’t be woken up. He start to check the man’s pulse, and it’s still there.

He called their manager while sobbing silently.

“Grant my wish? But I didn’t ask for anything.” Sunggyu frowned and raises his eyebrows. “Everyone always have a wish. You have to wish about something, because this wish will teach you something. This wish is important. Your wish will change everything.” The angel explained. ”Why me?” Sunggyu asked. “Everyone have a chance for a wish that will change everything. You will be back with a very useful lesson, to change everything in your life. And this time is your chance.” The angel said. Sunggyu nodded, trying to understand the explanation. “So… I have to make a wish, no matter what?” Sunggyu asked again. “Yes! I will only give you one wish that you can’t take back.  But I’ll definitely show you first, in which world it will happen, and what is going to happen if I grant your wish.” The angel explained again. “Wait, there are other worlds and universes as well?” Sunggyu asked. “Yes. Basically, there are other Kim Sunggyus that lived besides you, but not in the current world you’re living in.” The angel said. “Really?” He tilts his head. “And you might meet a few people you know in your world, as a totally different people out there.” The angel finished. “It’s kind of confusing.” Sunggyu said while scrunching his nose in confusion. “Yes, but you will understand this eventually.” The angel said again. “And remember, you can’t go back to your own world if you don’t make the right wish.” The angel reminded. Sunggyu sighed. “What can I call you?” Sunggyu blurted out. “Angel, you can call me that.” Angel laughs. Sunggyu thinks, what does he wants? Popularity? He already has it. Money? He already had enough money, even though it wasn’t that much. What does Sunggyu wants? Why did he has to wish for something in the first place? “I will tell you the reason, partially later.” The angel said. “But I can’t think of anything I want.” He pouted slightly. “Then… Maybe you can wish something… related to a certain someone called Nam Woohyun?” Angel said, still smiling, while Sunggyu froze in his place.

Nam Woohyun.

He is the person Sunggyu cared the most after his family. The last words that he said still replaying in Sunggyu’s mind, making Sunggyu’s heart aches. He remembered the mocking expression in Woohyun’s face, and wishing Woohyun to feel the same way he does is seemed impossible. Yes, the leader has fallen for Woohyun, between the days they are working together. Sunggyu sighed again. “You can wish for anything, you know?” Angel said again. Sunggyu’s thought immediately went to Woohyun’s words back then.

“I’m stressed, and my limbs are in pain.”

“I… have thought of something.” Sunggyu said slowly. “What is it?” Angel asked.

“I wish to take all the stress and pain from Woohyun.”

Angel frowned, before smiling. “That’s… not a good choice, but not bad either.”

Sunggyu looked desperate.

“Remember, your wish will affects other worlds and universes, as well.” Angel said, and before Sunggyu could ask what does she means, everything turns into black.
