although narae and yifei still wouldn't look at each other, it was nice to see that juyeong was still her bright, bubbly, and somewhat annoying self.
"haaaaaanaaaaaa!" juyeong screeched, planting herself in my lap. i let out a small 'oof' of surprise; juyeong must've put on some muscle (she certainly didn't look fat) because i could feel my things screaming in agony.
"unnie..." i protested. "unnie, you're so heavyyy!"
"ah, sorry maknae-ah," juyeong laughed. "i guess i put on some muscle dancing, huh?"
"you certainly don't look it," i said, poking her side, which elicited a giggle from her. "you're still super skinny, unnie."
"yeah, well, choreographing dances for a bunch of little kids all day is certainly a good way to work out," juyeong laughed, stretching out on the couch next to me.
"they're not all babies, the day6 members are only a year younger than you, and the oldest got7 member is only two years younger," i said, flipping through my book. aish... why is hangul so difficult to understand? i guess i still needed practice.
"true, but day6 don't really dance, they kinda just do their band thing," juyeong said, doing a lovely imitation of an air guitar. "and you know i love the got7 boys, mark and i have been friends since, like, the beginning of time. the twice members on the other hand, are total babies."
"unnie, it's the same between you and me," i laughed. "i'm the same age as nayeon-ssi."
"... oh yeah, that's right..." juyeong said, tapping her chin thoughfully.
"and besides, i was the baby of our group, remember?" i said. "it was always 'maknae-ah' or 'baby hana' or something of the sort."
"fine, but at least you didn't act like a baby," juyeong whined, slouching lower in her seat. "they're all so y and annoying and they always argue with me about choreography..."
"just like how narae used to argue with you about our choreography?" i asked, lowering my voice so the person in question sitting across the room wouldn't hear.
"exactly!" juyeon exclaimed, somewhat lowering her voice. "they want the dances to be easy so they won't get tired and i'm all 'i busted my when i was in a girl group and i was, like, the worst singer, it up!'"
"oh, you weren't that bad," i giggled. "and besides, you came up with some great choreography."
"yeah..." juyeong said, glancing over at narae. "too bad it went unappreciated by some."

"i am just saying, i think it'd be easier on all of us if we toned down that section of the chorus - we're all singing, and it's better to be in sync and sound good live than to look good!"
"oh come on, narae, the entire song is just easy hand movements, this is like the one section of the dance that we can show we're actually capable of dancing, and you want to make it easier?"
"yes, i do! not everyone is as good a dancer as you are, juyeong, you have to ing remember that!"
"girl groups get remembered for three things, narae - visuals, vocals, and choreography. i'm trying to make sure we're the strongest in the choreography section so if we get outshone in the other two, we have something to fall back on!"
"oh, so now you're saying we're - ugly and we can't ing sing?!"
"ok, i think everyone needs to just calm down a little..." i said, stepping between the arguing duo. narae let out an angry huff of breath, rolling her eyes and stalking off to find her phone, while juyeong glared at her, scrunching up her nose and wandering off to find her water bottle.
"unnie... what should we do?" hana whispered. "if we can't get them to agree on the choreography..."
"i think... we should let them cool off a little..." i said, glancing at the two of them in their separate corners of the room. "maybe go asked hansol-oppa his opinion, he'd know."
"yeah, you go do that," seri said, nodding. "we'll stay here, make sure they don't get into another fight."
"thanks, you two," i said, exiting the practice room.
the hallways of j.tune camp at 2am were eerily quiet - the mblaq sunbaes all had schedules, promoting their new album and gearing up for their first asia tour, soorin-sunbae was overseas in japan, promoting with her cousins, and the other project group, another group of five girls, had probably gone home for the night, as their debut date was nowhere in the near future. there were no trainees in sight, and only the occasional staff member, so finding hansol, j.tune's choreographer (and my boyfriend, though we didn't dare tell anyone, not even my groupmates), was no problem at all.
"ah, yifei-ah," hansol said, smiling as i approached him in one of the empty practice rooms. "are you girls done for the night?"
"not exactly," i said, quickly explaining our predicament.
"hmm, i see..." hansol said, running his hand through his hair. "well, what do you think, yifei? choreography at yg was probably much harder than this."
"yeah, that's true," i admitted. "but if we piss of narae again, she might make our lives a living hell before debut. she is the leader."
"a good leader should know when she's wrong," hansol said. "and if narae is the only one who can't nail this dance, she should practice more, she should know she's the weakest dancer in the group. c'mon, i'll come with you, she should listen to me."
"alright..." i said, sighing with relief. "thanks, oppa."
hansol smiled, planting a kiss on my forehead before heading towards our practice room.
"anytime, jagiya."
author's note: ooooh, looks like everyone's got a bone to pick with narae... jk not everyone, just juyeong and yifei (though no one knows why yet).
so, lmk what you guys think, and what you'd maybe like to see in the future! :)
(ps - this probably isn't going to be a very long story - probably not more than a dozen or so chapters, though im really not good at estimating, so just a heads up)
