Chapter 1

All She Wrote

The House

I watched through the window as the vast blue sky ran across my line of vision. Sometimes the blue would occasionally be blocked by splotches of green that came from tall trees that we pass through the window but it was still something distracting to look at.

It didn't matter.

Anything else that passed through the window wasn’t interesting to me. I had no interest as to where we were going. I wanted to go home— my old home— not this new one we were heading to. It was just last month when my parents announced we were moving to a new home, one that had been on sale for a cheap price, and the next thing I know I found myself sitting backseat with boxes stacked next to me in the car on the way to our new home.

"Cheer up, 'Soo." I looked towards the front where I caught gaze with my father's eyes through the rearview mirror. "You're going to like it here son."

I scoffed, turning to look out of the window. We were traveling a long distance from my home.

"Now honey, I'm sorry that you had to leave your friends behind, but we had to move along to be near your father's new job."

I stayed silent as I grabbed my IPod touch from his pocket along with my earphones. I just wanted it to get to the "better" part of all of this already. I had to leave behind my best friend, Baekhyun, along with all the dreams the two of us had planned together since we were in the fifth grade.

Life is always unpredictable though. Its something that we all continue to learn in life. To expect the unexpected but to never know when is what throws us all off.

I let out a sigh as I  placed one earbud in on ear, leaning my head against the window and closed my eyes and let my music soothe me into unconsciousness.

I was in a room with no windows. The walls that promised not release, no light except, for the one that harshly bore into my eyes. I could hear the drip, drip, dripping of water faintly in the room like a running faucet as my dizzy mind tried to process how I even got into the room.

‘Where was I? How did I get here?’

It took me a moment to realize I was laying down so I tried to sit up but I found  that my arms were strapped down, binded, to whatever I was lying on.

‘What the hell?‘

I tried moving my legs but found they were having the same problem. I fought against the constraints, frantically trying to get free. My heart rate quickened as my mind flashed signals of Danger telling him to get out from whatever was to come next from this situation.

From the side I heard the clatter of metal, like someone dropping a fork on a plate, accompanied by the humming of someone. I couldn't help but gasp, I didn’t even realized there was someone else in here with me. Turning my head, I could see the back frame of the male. He seemed a bit taller than me from the distance but I couldn't make out any details of the male through the dim darkness of the room where the light failed to illuminate. I wanted to ask, to question who this male was but I couldn’t help but feel that I knew this male— a male I knew and felt guilty and terrified of.

The male did not seem phased, in his own mind set perhaps, as he continued to hum nonchalantly while going through the clattering metal. Pulling out the object the male turned and began walking towards the foot of what I was laying own, sliding the object gently over the heels of my feet.

The object was sharp.

I try to crane my neck up as much as I could to see something, anything to explain what is going on.  I observed what I was suddenly wearing, a pure white gown that stopped a bit over my ankle. My feet were bare, and the object-- the object I felt that was in the hand of the male that stood in front of me at this moment was a saw.

I thrashed as hands brushed over my ankle, moving the end of the gown to gain a better view of my bare skin. The male spoke words, words I couldn't decipher  as the saw came closer, closer to his skin before the male lowered the metal and-

"Kyungsoo!"

I gasped as I jolted awake, eyes popping out as my heart hammered through his chest.

"We're here son!"  My father announced out loud.

I blinked, hand over my heart as the beats slowed down with a few deep breaths. I moved my attention outside the window as our car turned down the street of our new home. Trees lined the street, stretching out and touching one another,  almost making it seem like a pathway as we traveled down the lane. The neighbourhood was quiet but I still saw a few kids outside playing with each other.

"Here's our new home Soo." My mother said as we pulled into the driveway. The moving trucks were already parked in front of the place and putting objects inside the home. Shutting off the engine, my father pulled the lever to open the car trunk.

"Help take some of the stuff inside, son." He said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and exited the car, my mother doing the same action.

I exhaled deeply, leaning against the car seat, still a bit shaken by the dream. I ran my hand across my forehead feeling the slight dampness transfer to my palm.

That dream. My mind thought back to nightmare, body shivering in fear.

What could have caused me to dream of that?

Registering I was still listening to music, I look down at my iPod screen.

Jaejoong- Mine

‘Well that explains it.’ I thought.  "Well never again Jaejoong," I turned to an R&B song as I slid the device in my pocket. Grabbing the box near me, I opened the door and made my way out the car.

The new home wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was actually very appealing to be a "cheap" home my parents made it out to be. Two stories, a western style wooden white home, it was old fashioned but good looking altogether. There was a tree on the left side of the neighbouring home, standing between both of the homes. My eyes traveled to the room near the tree- my room I guessed it would be. My parents know I like to have a view from my room.

"Hey." I jumped as a hand tapped on mu shoulder from behind.

I turned around to face the source of the voice. It was a boy who held a gentle smile- angelic even- with his hand outstretched. He hand an eloquent air to him, something that seemed to make you feel at ease with him and made you think he was prone to conducting things in the best manor.

"Hello, I'm Joonmyeon," Even his voice sounded virtuous. "But most people call me Suho. I live across the street. Are you one of the new neighbours moving in?"

"Ah, uh, yes," I fumbled to find words to speak with the handsome male in front of me as I shook the hand presented. "D-Do Kyungsoo."

Suho chuckled. "Welcome to the neighbourhood, Kyungsoo."

"Thanks. Glad to now know someone in this area." I gave a small smile but stopped as a chill ran down my spine as if a sixth sense came to me.

It felt as if I was being watched.

Turning around I stared at my room window on instinct but failed to see the existence of anyone there.

‘Weird,’ I thought as I stared at the window.

"Is there something wrong?" I turned back to see Suho looking at me slightly concerned.

"Oh no, just thought I...," I shook my head, waving off the concern. "Never mind, I'm fine."

"That's good." Suho smiled warmly and I could feel myself enjoying the way the other smiled. "If you want I could be your official neighbourhood tour guide."

"That would be great."

"Right so first-" Suho was cut off as the sound of a roaring engine came from the distance. Turning my head, I watched as the person on a motorcycle drove to park in front of the house left to mine. "So first that's Kai."

I examined the "Kai" guy. He was dressed in black, the same colour of his motorcycle that he swung his long leg over to get off of. I watched intently as the male took off his helmet, dishevelled hair sitting into of the tan male's head. He hand slightly plumped lips, aloof brown eyes, a well-shaped jawline.

He was attractive.

Especially with the "bad boy" vibe he was giving off from his appearance.

He was dangerous. Something I felt my internal sense saying.

"Hey Kai, do you want to say hi to your new neighbour?" Suho called over to the biker.

Kai turned around, giving Suho an icy glare before looking direct at me. I fidgeted under the gaze of the male. his eyes seemed to judge me in the same way one would during their first look of someone new to them. He seemed to analyze me from head to toe with an unwavering stare.

‘What was he thinking?’ I wondered, ‘Did I have something on my face?’

I swiped my hand over my mouth. "Is there something wrong?" Kyungsoo finally spoke up.

Kai didn't respond, instead he stalked towards his front door, not sparing another glance to us as he disappeared into his own home.

"Did I do something to offend him?" I asked Suho.

"Nah, that's just Kai. I'd say you'd get use to him but I wouldn't recommend getting close to him." Suho warned.

"Is he really that bad?" I was more curious than intimidated by the boy. Okay maybe a bit more intimidated by the dark clothes and cold vibe but that didn't change how much I wanted to know more about him like an architect finding something new, I had to know more about him.

"Let's just say... he's had a record before." Suho tried to word it without sounding judgmental or like a gossiper.

"Soo honey! Come start unpacking in your room!" My mom called out from inside the house..

"Well I gotta go. Maybe we could do that tour later." I never thought I would find myself flirting on the first day in this new neighbourhood but I didn't expect there would be someone like Suho living near me.

"I'd love to tour you around anytime." Suho smiled, that flirty feeling lace in his kindness.

"Bye." I waved shyly as I picked up the box and turned around to head inside the house.

The inside of the home had boxes stacked along the walls, the movers setting down the final pieces of furniture. My eyes wandered along the interior of the home from the color of the walls to the small dangling chandelier on the ceiling. It was a bit antique, but I liked it nevertheless.

"Oh honey," My mom popped up from behind, slightly startling me. "Your father and I will unpack things in the kitchen first. You go upstairs and find your room, the movers already put you stuff inside it."

"Alright." I slowly made my way to the staircase, examining every new inch of this home on the way. It was quite eery being on the top floor by myself.  My steps caused slight creaks in the weak wooden floorboard down the hall as I made his way to the room with the opened door at the end. The room wasn't so bad- my bed was placed in the center of the room, drawers and dresser on the right side and my book shelf on the other. Once I put up my things around I could adjust to the change better. I spotted my whiteboard I got for christmas as a kid in the corner next to a few boxes. I remember when I was so excited to get this as a kid that I was practically jumping off the walls when I opened it. I walked over and picked it up, placing it on top of the dresser carefully with the red marker placed in front of it.

"Ugh this is a lot to put up." I groaned as I looked at the boxes I had to put away.

"Do you need some help?"

I gasped, dropping the box in shock before whipping my head around to see who was talking.

At the left window past the branches of the trees I saw was the window of Kai's house- his room I assumed since the boy stood there looking across.

"N-No I'm fine." I smiled meekly, picking the box back up. I didn't take Kai as the person to offer assistance- to be nice in general- based off what I saw earlier. But I guess this could add to finding out more about him.

But just how long was he standing there looking over at me? The thought made me shiver inside.

Kai shrugged, walking away from the window view. My eyes lingered at the window before walking towards his drawers to place the box items in.

‘Note to self,’ I mentally said. ‘Buy curtains.’

Four hours later, much due to procrastination, I laid on his bed as the room darkened from the setting sun. All the work made me exhausted to be honest, most fatigue probably coming from the time spent traveling in the car.

The digital clock on my dresser now read  6:44 pm. I’m sure my mom would call me down to eat something soon.

"Alright. I'll rest for a minute then go and get food." I told himself as he closed my eyes to embrace the darkness it brought.

I didn't know how long I closed my eyes, but something felt off now. A certain unease beginning to set inside me.

I saw someone in my dreams. A girl. I couldn’t see her face because her back was towards me for some reason. She stood in front of my white board, writing something that I couldn’t see.

'Wake up,' My mind was telling me. 'Wake up.'

My eyes fluttered open, the room was now completely dark except for the outer light that flooded thrown the windows.

‘What time was it?’ I wondered, looking at the clock.

12:22am.

I rubbed my hands together, a brisk chill took over the room now.

I looked to the windows and saw that they were both opened up. I didn’t bother to try to think if I had left it open or not, my mind was finishing its wipe of the previous drowsiness. Pushing myself up, I walked over to both windows to close them.

"Maybe I could still sneak downstairs and-," I couldn’t finish my words, they sat stuck in my throat  as I turned around. The moonlight reflected upon my whiteboard and the words written on it, like scarlet blood against pure white snow, were clear for anyone to read.

Don't trust him.

A/N: I decided to rewrite everything into first person (this chapt might have some slight errors still from the rewriting), it's taking a tad bit linger than I anticipated but I'm getting there. I say first person gives a bit more suspense and detail. Thanks for waiting so far you guys. I'm going back to working so I can but out a new chap already.

Much love,

Chapter 3: If I were to guess on what's gonna happen in the future
Kai would be the good guy since he went to kyungsoo's room in the middle of the night to try and see if he's okay and then he said 'I'll let you die next time' and suho would be the bad guy since he's the one trying to gain kyungsoo's trust and han ah wrote the 'dont trust him' thing.
Kai also gave suho a cold glare in the beginning so-- HAHA IDK.

THIS IS AWESOME AUTHORNIM! I LOVE THE MYSTERY
