After they left, I searched the living room for my cellphone. But it was nowhere to be found. I lay down on the couch as I let out a strangled sigh, feeling as though I've just lost my whole world.

" Jongdae. Phone. Jongdae. Phone.. " I chanted pathetically. 

Then it hit me. My cellphone was with Jongdae. He didn't exactly return it to me just now so.. Now I have an excuse to see him. I grinned. But wait. He's my best friend. I could technically see him anytime I wanted... Or could I?

I rolled off the couch, plopping onto the floor. Life is so hard.

I mentally thanked whoever for the holidays as if it weren't for the person who thought it up, I would have to be struggling with school work on top of all th-

" OPEN UP! " 

I sat up immediately and looked towards the door. 

" JONGDAE IS THAT YOU? " I shouted back excitedly, standing up straight.

" Yeah, remove this thing that's separating us, " he replied. I could hear the smile in his voice.

I darted towards the door, and put my hand on the knob, twisting and turning it a little too dramatically to get the door open. When it finally did, I was greeted by his lopsided grin and I felt like I could burst with joy.

" What's up? " I asked, trying to brush off the traces of euphoria.

" Ice cream, " he replied, holding up a black plastic bag.

I pulled him into my apartment and shut the door. 

" You have my phone right? " I asked.

Jongdae nodded, sliding his hand into his pocket to retrieve the cellphone. I held my hand out to take it, and he gave it back to me. I said to him a word of thanks and placed my cellphone on the couch. He made a motion towards me, asking me to come closer. I leaned towards him and he hit me in the face with my share of the ice cream.

" For you, " he laughed.

I shot him a look as I removed the wrapper of the ice cream. He did the same as he plopped onto the floor, taking a large bite of the frozen dessert. 

" Slow down, " I said out, afraid that he might leave right after he's done with it.

" Eat, " he replied, pointing to my ice cream.

So I did as I was told, eyeing Jongdae cautiously. He had already finished.

" Who's Minseok? " he asked, looking at his ice cream stick.

" A friend. How do you know his name? I don't remember you asking for it. "

" Your phone. "

" How did you figure out the password? "

" It's just an L. Probably cos you like Lay, " Jongdae replied, smi
