You loved your summer job at the coffee house. You loved the smell of the freshly brewed coffee in the morning, the sounds of the customers’ quiet conversations over the soothing jazz music in the background, all of it made you look forward to going to work every day.

Along with that, you got to know a lot more people from serving them constantly. Because of your hospitality and politeness to the customers, you became one of the favorite employees of the shop and a lot of people started to come frequently. You ended up learning quite a lot about them and made friends with almost everyone that walked through the door every morning.

“Sehun, here is your green tea latte,” you yell as you hand the drink over to your customer who’s patiently waiting. “Well that took longer than usual,” he chuckles as he inserts his straw into his drink. “Well on the weekends it gets crazy,” you reply quickly and turn back around to continue making drinks.

You run over to the blender and quickly throw in the ingredients for a caramel frappuccino for the next customer. “__________! Take over the register, I’ll make the drinks,” your co worker yells at you as she runs over to the other machine and starts pushing buttons to brew more coffee. “Are you sure you want me to,” you ask as you pour the icy drink into a cup.

“Of course, you’re the popular one! No one wants to see my ugly face,” she jokes. You chuckle and yell out the name for the customer that ordered the frappuccino. After he receives his drink, you quickly make your way back over to the register and tap a few buttons on the screen as you talk, “Hello, what can I get for you this morning?”

“I’ll have an Americano, please.” The suddenly low voice startles you and you look up to see who was speaking. He was a new customer, definitely. You would have recognized his low voice and his height right away if he was a regular. He towered over you, but he was also very attractive with his glasses. You freeze up as you continue to examine the customer in front of you when you get tapped on the back of the head.

“His order,” your co worker whispers, snapping you back to your senses. You shake your head and put on a smile, “I-I’m sorry could you repeat that?” He chuckles and repeats his order as you tap it into the monitor. “Alright, one Americano coming up.”

“You’re __________, right?” Your eyes shoot up when you hear him say your name, “Yeah, that’s me.” He smiles widely. “I’m friends with Sehun. I’m sure you know him since he comes here often. I’ve heard a lot about you.” You feel your face flush, “Ah, well he is a regular customer.”

“One Americano for you, sir,” your co worker says behind you as she hands him his drink. “You know you’re holding up the rest of the line,” she whispers harshly and you look up to see the next customer tapping her foot impatiently. You look back up at the new customer and smile. “Well I hope you come back again...”

“Chanyeol,” he says, finishing your sentence since he didn’t say it earlier. You smile, “Well I hope to see you come in again Chanyeol.” He takes a sip of his drink and smiles, “I definitely will.”

And he kept his promise. Chanyeol came back to the coffee shop almost every day. Since you also hired a few more people to work, you were able to interact with the customers a lot more since you did most of the cleaning. A lot of the time you would work while talking to customers, especially Chanyeol. Since he became a regular, you enjoyed talking to him and you got to know a lot about him in the few interactions with him since he would usually stay at the coffee shop for an hour or so a day, causing the two of you to become really good friends.

His smile definitely brightened your day. Whenever he saw you he would give you a big smile and wave as you gave him one in return. Your fellow co workers made fun of you for it, but you didn’t care. He was able to make you laugh and you were very comfortable around him, and your feelings for him were slowly starting to grow for him day by day.

Little did you know that Chanyeol’s feelings for you were growing as well.
