Merry Christmas everyone! I know it's pretty late but some parts of the world right now are still celebrating Christmas so I might as well post this little drabble for you all. I'm so sorry that this is the only thing I could conjure for ya'll but I do sincerely wish that you enjoy your Holidays! Merry Christmas once again :)) PS. light angst

It’s that time of the year again.

Junmyeon smiles to himself, all the while placing the last piece of décor for the dorm’s Christmas tree. He steps off the ladder and continues to admire his work. The medium sized tree is decorated by garlands and pretty lights but the pictures of the EXO members along the tree are what really garner attention.

A pinch of ache makes its way to the docile leader’s heart as he continues to gaze on the tree. Over here, he sees a picture of Chanyeol and Kyungsoo smiling goofily for the camera. Over there is Jongin and Sehun donning Christmas hats looking like complete happy idiots. A group picture is also seen amongst the cluster of different photographs and Junmyeon stares at it almost longingly, the pain in his heart had doubled and he’s not that sure why.

It’s going to be the first Christmas without them and the leader sure is sad.

It feels like a big family tree having to cut off some of its branches because it’s beginning to become so heavy and in order to ease the burden, some had to eventually fall off.

Junmyeon smiles bitterly at the thought.

It’s just that, circumstances demand for people to adjust to situations no matter how much it hurts. In Junmyeon’s case, in EXO’s case, they just have to acquiesce to the fact that Yifan and Luhan hyung are gone, off out there to face challenges offered to them by the real world. They too have to stand up, and be strong, almost like patching a fresh wound to stop it from bleeding. As the leader, Junmyeon carries most of the burden. The fact that his group had lost two members in the span of 6 months is like a strong whip to his already aching soul. But like every other human being in this planet he had to be strong.
