Danger

Chanyeol Was Here

Gentle sunlight baked my skin and sunk into my hair as I walked down a busy street. I hadn't talked to Chanyeol in five months. Life was moving fast and I couldn't feel more free! My eyes closed gently as I breathed in the fresh morning air. I couldn't help but smile with content as I continued on my way to the café.

"Mei! I'm so glad to see you!" My boss, and current boyfriend, came running out of the café with his face scrunched into urgent features.

"Uh ah oppa what's wrong?" His eyes made me nervous about what was happening.

"My sister and her friend are in the hospital for surgery. They were in an accident and I really need to get there! Can you please watch the café for me?" His breathing was different and his eyebrows wrinkled into concern.

"Of course I can, oppa! Go!" I nodded quickly but he still stood there, scanning my face, "Hurry up and go!" He began running after I shooed him away with my hand. His running figure slowly disappeared from my view as I turned into the café.

The café was deserted, nobody was here yet. There was no sound besides the drowning sound of cars speeding by. Before standing behind the counter,  I switched the 'closed' sign over to 'open'. I hope oppa's sister will be okay. That phrase circulated throughout my mind as I stood there, feeling empty.

"Mei! Where is everyone? I mean, where is the excitement and music?" A fellow employee entered the café and began quickly questioning me.

"Ah I forgot about the music..." I looked down and crouched down to be eye level with our DJ system. Thoughtlessly, I picked a station on Pandora.

"Sugan heart attack~(Exo's Heart attack) The lyrics flowed into my ears and tears collected in my eyes.

"Unnie? Is everything okay?" The bubbly employee leaned over the counter to stare at my upset face. A tiny smile was forced on my face as I looked down and nodded, "So where is everyone?" I struggled to swallow and cleared my throat.

"Joon oppa had to go to the hospital because his sister was in an accident and needs surgery. And nobody else has showed up yet." Her face became gloomy and sympathetic towards both Joon and I.

"Aren't you worried?"

"Of course I am!" My brows furrowed as I searched her face for reasoning.

"Then why aren't you with him?!"

"Because Joon left the shop to me. He trusts me and you to help him keep his business going." She nodded, taking in the reasoning.

"Then let's do very well today!" I smiled as convincingly as I could and we got to work.

......

The day couldn't have gone by any slower.  Once it came time for the café to close, I was the only employee there. The others had finished their shifts from before and the one employee whom was supposed to be here at the later hours was sick. I was alone in the well lit café that made outside look even darker. My body was worn out and I just felt sad. My poor oppa is all alone in the hospital, probably feeling very upset. I felt worse as I thought to myself, cleaning the cute tables. After I finished clean up, I flipped the sign from 'open' to 'closed', something I'd never done before. Finally, I headed out the door and locked up, also something I'd never done before with my key. The air outside felt nice but it was a bit chilly after a while. I had packed a couple of the sweet muffins that we offer at the shop and one of Joon's favorite drinks, hoping that these might make him feel better.

......

"Hi, how can I help you, miss?" I had arrived at the hospital, I went to the front desk to try and find Joon's sister's room. The lady was very sweet and directed me into the emergency care unit. Eventually, I found the room number that I was told was where I could find Joon's sister. Nerves electrocuted my body as I stood outside the door, feeling extremely weird. Something was feeling off.

"If you ever allow her to hang out with her again, I will send more people to attack and maybe this time, I'll kill both of them!" A frightening voice pierced the room that I stood outside of.  An odd noise quietly sounded and then there was silence. I heard foot steps coming out of the room and decided that who ever it was, I shouldn't be seen by around here. Without thinking too much, I whipped the hood of my jacket over my head and began walking away from the room, waiting for the lady in the room to pass me. Cold, fast air blew on my side as the lady, who was dressed in a nurses uniform, walked away suspiciously.

Curiously, I followed the lady down the hall until she turned around a corner, where I just peeked around it slightly and then flew back to the coverage of the wall. I had seen the lady stop in front of a group of other 'nurses', "I took care of it. He was so falsely innocent looking."

"Did she wake up yet or did you leave a message for her when she wakes up?" A higher pitched voice broke through the chilling air surrounding them.

"She is out of it, we did a good job for now with her. Anyway, I left a message for her haha, a very bloody one." Her cackle terrified me, "Have any of you guys seen her, yet? I want to make sure she doesn't get hurt too badly since we love him." Who are they talking about?! My poor Joon! What could they have done to him?! My heart beat picked up in anticipation.

"Yeah, she's not in too bad of a state so we did well on that too." A slightly deeper voice cut in.

Fear rushed through my boiling blood as I sprinted back to the room where Joon should be. A horrified gasp slipped through my lips, "Oppa!" In seconds, I was by his side, my arms brushing on the bloody bedsheets. Joon was sitting on one of those swivel stools, lying his head on the side of the bed and arms hanging limp at either side of him. The bed, where his sister was resting, was splattered with thick, red blood, "Oppa please get up!" I shook his shoulder gently, then I barely lifted him up to see his face, "Joon! Don't die, please!" His neck, his smooth, milky neck, was slit and still gushing out blood. My shaky hand slapped on to the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. My hands were no match for the gash, warm blood poured out through my fingers, "Ah! Ah! Oppa! Help! Please! Somebody! HELP!" Tears, warm and stinging, sped down my cheeks as everything went black.

......

White...

My eyes opened and a blurry white ceiling came into view. Where am I? The sound of heart monitors filled my ears and I turned to look around. I had my own bed, my own IV, my own part of a room, I was a patient.

"Ah Mei,  you have woken up!" My eyes change direction and scanned the nurse that had just entered my half of the room, "How are you feeling?"

"I-I am fine" Memories of the terrifying scene from before, burst into my head, "Joon! Where is he!? Is he dead?! Oh gosh, he's dead isn't he?" Waterfalls flowed down my cheeks.

"Mei, it's okay. Is Joon the one you were with when you passed out? If so, I can take you to him." My body shook a little bit as I nodded in a strange manner. The words that I wanted to say weren't getting past the baracade in my throat, the large lump that made me swallow many times to try and get rid of it. I decided to stop trying but the phrase just kept screaming in my mind. Is he dead, has he left me?

After being wheeled down a hallway that seemed to never end, with many turns and corners, we arrived at a room. I could tell it was the emergency care area again.

"Here we are, his room." My hands began to sweat as I anticipated what was inside, especially because I knew that near by was the morgue, full of dead people. She wheeled me through the doorway, painstakingly slow. Little by little, I began to see a bed with bright, white sheets. Relief swept over me, there weren't any metal beds in walls, or creepy pale hands hanging off of stretchers, preparing to be put into the wall. Eventually, I saw a lively looking hand resting on the edge of the bed and then I saw Joon's alive face.

"He's alive!" I felt like dancing and screaming, it was a great feeling.

"Shhh he's sleeping." The nurse whispered a shush warning and I smiled awkwardly.

"Can you move me to him?" I gently looked up to see her face and she nodded as she pushed me closer. Joon's face was peaceful as I scanned it. My eyes fell on his neck. It was bandaged up well which I was glad for. His eyes fluttered and carefully opened, "Joon oppa! Are you okay now?" My voice couldn't help but rush out of my mouth.

"Mei... be careful. You're in danger around me." His warm hand enveloped mine, "Get a new job and don't call me, if you do, it's over for all of us. Please understand" A silent tear trickled down his cheek and triggered hot tears to stream down my own.

"What? But I can't leave you oppa, I can't! I have to take care of you and your sister! I can't just go!" His eyes hardened a bit, I could sense that me saying something about his sister was a sort of threat.

"Go."

"But-"

"Go! Now! Get out of here!" My heart scrambled into my throat and then fell to my stomach. The normal feeling of a heart was over run with the weight of my hurt heart.

The nurse wheeled me out of the room quickly and my mind went blank from fear, pain, and sadness.

Chapter 1: I'm wondering if you're going for a more poetic type of writing style? I'm not entirely sure why you're making new paragraphs for every new sentence. It could work, especially if you're going for a more poetic feel. I just want to know if this is artistic license or...?

Also, maybe you should try describing things a little bit differently? Right now, you kind of have a: He did this. And then he did this. And then he did that. kind of thing going on, and it does little to create vivid imagery. Build a vision for your readers! It will make them connect with the characters and what's going on much better ~ <3

Keep on writing. It looks like you have some fans!

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I like the way you describe her feelings. They remind me of Bella when Edward left her. And also like the attitude of the girl. The thing that I don't like though it's the structure of the chapter. It look like the structure of a song and not of a chapter. Did you choose it on purpose like that or..? If yes, it's okay, but if no, then you better check some books and copy the structure of the chapters. As for the enjoyment, I liked it so far. in term of point I give 7.5/10. For the rest, your style it's okay so don't change it. It's a great story so advertise it a lot to have much more views and readers. That's it. Hope my review helped you :)

Chapter 1: It's a good first chapter, makes me curious about quite a few things. But could you give the characters names? It feels weird just say reading 'her' when you're talking about the girl's friend. And give the main character herself a name. Leaving a gap for her name also feels weird since I always forget to make a name, and it kinda ruins the read.
Also, avoid using 'I' too much. You have that a lot in your writing. Try using different sentence starters. Another thing, you switch from present tense to past tense. See if you can stick with only one. I'm sorry, I feel like a reviewer here. But it seems like a nice story idea :D
