Ch.1
Something More Than Best Friends
Key stared at himself in the mirror intensely as he carefully drew on the last bit of eyeliner on his eyelid. Perfect, he thought, putting the cap back on and putting it in his makeup bag. He stuffed it in his school bag and zipped it closed. After one last check in the mirror –Flawless skin, perfect hair, the right accessories, light makeup – he slung his bag over his shoulder and grabbed his phone and left his room, closing the door quietly behind him so he didn’t wake up his mother. He walked downstairs and out of the house to see Jonghyun waiting for him on the side walk. Key grinned, Jonghyun hadn’t seen him yet so he ran and threw his arms around his best friend.
“Aish! Key! Don’t scare me like that!” Jonghyun exclaimed loudly. Key laughed and let go of him as they began walking to school.
“Hey, where’s my good morning kiss?” He pouted playfully. Jonghyun rolled his eyes and kept walking ahead. Key stopped and folded his arms. Jonghyun noticed this and stopped and turned around, staring at his friend glaring at him.
“Come on Key, before we’re late,” He said. Key just raised his eyebrows and shook his head. He wasn’t going anywhere until he got his morning peck on the lips. Jonghyun sighed and walked back towards him, leaning down to capture Key’s soft lips. Key smiled happily into their kiss and pulled away, grabbing Jonghyun’s hand and pulling him forward.
So, have you seen that new girl around? She’s in a few of my classes,” Jonghyun said, starting up a conversation. He and Key were in different grades so they only had one class together, English. But he was curious to know if Key had met the new girl. She was pretty cute and really nice.
