The Projects

Little Bambies

Life wasn't considered easy for Luhan after her divorce either. So many things happened at once and she couldn't handle it if she was all by herself. Thank God everyone is there to support her. Though it hurts more knowing that everyone except that one person you needed the most is there for you. Despite that, Lulu is still grateful.

She definitely remembers knocking weakly on Joonmyun and Lay's door after their fight in the middle of the night - because their house is the nearest to hers - with tears streaming down her face, asking if she can stay with them for a while. Their faces of rage after she told them what happened haunts her memory forever. Joonmyun almost stormed out to her mansion to 'give Sehun a lesson'. That said lesson wasn't needed anymore when she signed their divorce paper the next month.

The hardest part after the divorce would be the month afterwards when Lulu threw up to the toilet bowl. Lay was so worried for her and therefore took her to Joonmyun's doctor friend. The doctor who doesn't know anything, smiled sincerely and congratulated her for carrying a baby. Lay's eyes widened in shock because she, like Lulu, knows who the baby's father is 100%. Lulu got a panic attack that same day.

She thought about telling Sehun about their baby at first. But then thoughts of Sehun partying with his business partners' daughters crossed Lulu's mind. If Sehun doesn't even want her, then why would he want her baby? If he's just going to abandon their baby or raise their baby like it's trouble, might as well not let him know. What Sehun doesn't know won't guilt or trouble him and it would be better for Lulu to not meet him anymore anyway.

Seeing Sehun hurts.

Lulu fell into an even worse depression after she found out. Joonmyun and Lay are genuinely worried for her, knowing that Luhan is not only her own person now, but if carrying a little Bambi inside her stomach. The innocent little baby will be in danger if this continues on. Though Sehun doesn't know its existence, both Joonmyun and Lay know Sehun wouldn't like it if they fail him in taking care of his beloved ones. So they held a  group discussion in their home's living room.

"Sehun deserves to know!" Chanyeol and Jongin growled at the same time. Both their wives shot them a glare to warn them to stop because Lulu wasn't finished.

"No!" she cried - yes because she's freaking emotional in her third month. "He'll tell me to get rid of my baby while there's still a chance! He could take my baby away from me! Worse, he could pretend to not know my baby existed and make my baby feel worthless! Never!"

"Or, Sehun would take you back in and you two can raise your baby in a loving family."

"Just like we know Sehun would." Chanyeol finished for Jongin. The two exchanged a telepathic high-five in their minds.

But Lulu wasn't going to listen. She stood up and tried to walk away from the room where her other 10 friends occupied. Jongdae was the quickest to grab her wrist and made her sit back on the couch. He sat down on the armrest and talk to her calmly.

"Lu, we all love you here; so we want you, Sehun, and your baby to have the happy ending you three des-"

"No Jongdae! No!" Lulu cried more instead and jolt up her seat. "It's my baby and I make decisions for it! I don't need that man with me to raise my baby! If you're all taking his side, then I don't know why I'm even here!"

"That wasn't what Jongdae meant, Lu." Minseon hold her best friend's hand to stop her.

"Maybe I should've just stayed quiet after all! I'll take care of my baby myself if none of you want to be a part in my baby's life-"

", Lu! NO!" Baekie exclaimed. "We just want the best for little Bambi in there-"

"And what's best for my baby is to have his or her mother by its side. To know that it is loved. I don't need anyone cursing my baby for existing. I can't take that chance. I don't know if I can take the rejection from S-" the girl broke down in tears when she realized she almost call out her ex-husband's name.

The women in the room began swarming around her to comfort their miserably stressed pregnant friend while the men sat on their designated spot when hanging in Joonmyun's and Lay's living room, sighing tiredly.

"But don't you think that's selfish?" Jongin whispered to Chanyeol.

Chanyeol nodded at the tanned man's words. He eyes Lulu who is still crying heavily, her eyes red, and her face is pale. "It's selfish but that's what Lulu wants. We might have to hide their baby from Sehun for a while if we want the baby to survive."

"What in the world are you on about?!" Jongdae chipped in.

"What Chanyeol meant was, a stressed out Lulu could result to miscarriage. Let's listen to her request, at least until the baby is born. Then we find a way to tell Sehun." Joonmyun muttered. "For now, Lay and I will take care of Lulu in this mansion to make sure her pregnancy goes right." Joonmyun finished.

(so anyways Chanyeol somehow found the chance to take the twins to Sehun - even if he played dirty by lying to his wife.)

Kim stupid Jongdae then began clapping out of habit, making the women turn to look at him in confusion - except pregnant Minseon who face-palmed herself. There was a long awkward silence after that.

They all went back to their own homes, leaving Lulu in the care of Lay and Joonmyun. But they would often come there to take care of Lulu themselves in turns (mostly Baekie because she read the most pregnancy books) and make sure she's not going to fall into depression again. It's a silent agreement that they would listen to Lulu's decision of not telling Sehun about their baby.

Not that anyone can blame her for deciding things that way. It was their faults for agreeing with her anyway. Lulu was an emotionally unstable woman who can't think straight or logic. Yet, she managed to convince ten other people to join her side and protect her little secret. Or specifically, secrets.

Days go by and Lulu felt bad for free-loading in Joonmyun's and Lay's though they said they're more than happy because the house is so much brighter with her glowing presence. Lulu wants to repay them somehow. With much complains, Lay finally let Lulu work in the cafe she and Joonmyun own down the street. The cafe's environment is good with plants almost at every corner (which is good for Lulu's lungs!) and the most customers are mature and calm university students so they won't stress Lulu out.

At first Lulu frustrates Lay a lot because the former works so hard like a seventeen years old doing her part-time job in Starbucks (granted she does look seventeen) but with a big belly popping out. She gives her everything into the work she does. But seeing Lulu lifts a mug made Lay want to scream out loud. Lay had to fire her because she can't stand seeing her fragile pregnant best friend work.

Lulu was mad and retorted that it's unfair. So to rebel, the pregnant woman did a few other jobs everywhere, scaring Lay to no end every single day - but fortunately none last very long. Not because she's incompetent, but because most owners are scared she'll pop her baby out there and then. Still, Luhan was a stubborn girl, therefore she doesn't give up and look for other available jobs. Until Lay cracked.

"Fine! Please just work in my cafe and don't look for another job anymore! Geez, Lu! What were you thinking?! A cashier?! What if that dumb register machine opened suddenly and hit your stomach?! What if the customers yelled at you and not let you go on a pee break?! What if-"

It goes on and on and on. Until the D-day.

D-day happened on that day when a kiddo customer in the cafe pointed out to Lulu that she's peeing her pants.

On that fine afternoon, all ten friends were present (even Minseon and Kyungie who just gave birth themselves), praying outside for Lulu's safe labor. Baekie would cry dramatically every time Lulu let out a shrill pained scream which made Chanyeol almost fainted. Jongin bet Jongdae that Chanyeol will faint for sure when it's Baekie's turn someday.

(we all know who won lol.)

All ten came to the hospital with biual baby items as gifts since Lulu wants her baby's gender to be a surprise. Bets were placed about the baby's gender; boy or girl. But the most important thing for them is that the baby will be born healthy. After almost two hours, a sound of a baby crying was heard, making everyone in the waiting room breathe out in relief, hugging each other in joy. But then a nurse ruined the moment.

"THERE'S ANOTHER ONE!"

It was a nice 8 minutes addition to the teeth-clenching situation.

A worth-it 8 minutes because aside from the fact that their happiness doubled, they also got to keep their money to themselves because everyone won the bet. It's a boy and a girl. The green bundles (pink is for girls, blue is for boys, so the twins are in green ones) were the prettiest in the baby room according to their aunts and uncles.

When the nurses handed Lulu her babies, tears formed in her eyes unknowingly. She was beyond happy that her babies are healthy beautiful human beings. A boy and a girl. Lulu couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that now both her arms are occupied with two wrinkly looking babies. It was only the three of them in that hospital room.

Lulu noticed that the girl is more active from the way that she'd wriggle in her arm and let out a few sudden whines every once in a while. She's still very red and Lulu thinks she looks like a little baby monkey secretly - but it was no secret that the girl will grow up looking like her. Her hair is so soft and is the same color as Lulu's. Honey blonde.

"Hannie," Lulu mumbled out, smiling at the name she unconsciously picked for her daughter. Lulu can't deny that she fell in love with her daughter at first sight.

Her son is another story. Unlike his sister, he's so much calmer and reserved. The boy is no longer that red and his face is shaping faster than his sister's. Lulu couldn't help but smile bitterly when she saw that her son looks so much like someone who doesn't even know his son's own existence. It doesn't help much that the few strands of hair on the baby boy's head is dirty blonde too.

Luhan hasn't thought about the blonde man she loved for a while now. The fact that her son is like the miniature of that man would haunt her every day for sure.

A name for her baby boy popped up in her mind, repeating itself for a thousand time. But Lulu still hesitates.

In the midst of her thoughts, Lay and Joonmyun walked in the hospital room to check up on her. Lay smiled sweetly at the babies, before lifting them back to their baby cots next to Lulu's bed. Lulu smiled at her gratefully because she only realized that her arms are getting numb now.

"They're so precious - can I have one of them?" Lay joked. Surprisingly, Lulu looked away from her as if hiding something. It actually looks like she wants to give one of them away. "Luhan?"

"Y-yeah. They are precious."

"Have you name them?" Lay asked, sitting on the chair next to Lulu's bed. Joonmyun began poking the baby boy's cheek in fascination.

"I chose Hannie for my baby girl." she smiled proudly, glancing at baby Hannie who once again is squirming in her sleep. Lay saw the loving look in her eyes and smiled happily at her friend's happiness.

"And the boy?" Lay asked her. Lulu turned to look at her son for a second before looking back to Lay. She looks hesitant this time. Lay's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"I-I don't know what to name him yet. I'm not sure what would suit him." Lulu muttered, voice shaking bad.

"Luhan?" Lay held her hand. "Tell me what's wrong."

Fortunately Lulu managed to hold in her tears. "Lay, he looks so much like Sehun. I'm not sure if I can handle looking at his face every morning when I wake up and deny him his own appa when he looks so much like his appa."

"So you want to stop this madness, right? Then tell Sehun about his children." Joonmyun piped in this time.

"No!" Lulu replied almost immediately. "I told you Sehun doesn't need troubles from me. B-but he looks so much like S-sehun, I t-thought that I could name my son similarly as him, as my last token of c-closure. Do you think that would be okay?" Lulu doesn't really want closure.

Lay smiled sadly, squeezing Lulu's hand in assurance. "I'm sure Sehun wouldn't mind. What name do you have in mind?"

"Hoon." Lulu muttered. "B-but he's still using my surname."

Joonmyun and Lay's hobby is travelling, either for vacation or work purposes. That's why though they're wealthy, their mansion isn't very big (because they're rarely there anyway). Luhan figured that the twins won't have a room in their home. Even if there is a room, Lulu doesn't want her babies to disturb the peace in Joonmyun and Lay's household.

That's why after being discharged from the hospital, Lulu moved in to a small apartment with two rooms. It's a modest apartment with soundproof walls in a friendly neighborhood with a park and a school not too far away; a perfect environment for the twins to grow up in. Lay cried, but still help up the others with moving Lulu's stuffs away to her new apartment

By the time they're done, the apartment looks like a kindergarten. A green-apples-patterned wallpaper, small coffee table, small sofas, colorful carpet, and toys scattered everywhere. Kim Jongsoo started to whine to Jongin, begging if he can live with Aunt Lulu instead. Kyungie scolded the poor boy for being so loud. Lulu laughed at the sight of her nephew looking like a kicked puppy.

"Lu?" she felt someone poked her shoulder. It was Chanyeol. "Can we talk?" he signaled, pointing to the kitchen.

Luhan nodded in bewilderment and followed Chanyeol to the kitchen. Baekie was already waiting by the counter by the time the two arrived there. The others are either still looking around their friend's new apartment or is cooing at the babies. Chanyeol moved to stand next to Baekie and the two exchanged big smiles, as if silently communicating in their heads. Lulu only wishes her someone can be there to communicate with her telepathically.

"So, what do you guys want to talk about?" Lulu started up.

"Well," Baekie smiled sweetly. "Chanyeol and I are so happy for you and the twins! So we want to wish you a big big congratulation!"

"Thank you, Baek." Lulu chuckled.

"Actually there's something else!" Chanyeol exclaimed. "I'm sorry if this offends you, but I was wondering how you are going to earn money to raise the twins."

"Uh? It's fine. I'm a vocal-trainer, Yeol. I get paid pretty well. Besides, I have some savings from there and then."

“I know," Chanyeol grinned. "It's just that I thought it would be better if you work in my company instead!"

Lulu smiled in gratitude. "Thanks, Yeol. But office hours doesn't suit my situation right now - especially because my children are still so little."

"I know that! I was talking about how you can be my second secretary. You can work from home and send in your works to me via e-mails! You don't have to come to the company every day!" Chanyeol explained.

"Think about it, Lu! You'll get more money, and you can work from home which means more time for you to keep watch of the twins. It's a win-win! What do you say?" Baekie's smile is almost as creepy as Chanyeol's somehow. That had Lulu quieted down and think about it.

"You guys are my favorites!" Lulu whispered excitedly before pulling the other two in a happy group hug. Chanyeol and Baekie laughed and high-fived each other. "Thanks you guys! I won't disappoint you!"

Truth is, Lulu was already worrying over what to do to the twins when she has to go to her job. Not to mention that being a vocal teacher for kids doesn't pay that much either. Probably enough for the twins' milk and clothes, but what about their toys? She needs a more stable and better-paying job anyways.

Chanyeol knows that Lulu is more than qualified for the job. Many companies asked for her before (but she refused because Sehun doesn't want her to work so hard; so she chose a relaxing job as a vocal-trainer for kids). She's smarter than him! Besides, Baekie is worried about her best friend - so having her work for Chanyeol in his company assure their hearts. With that, they can help Luhan out with her finance without her knowing and they'll know that Luhan won't have to worry over her kids because she'll be there with them 24/7.

Night came pretty soon and everyone went home one by one. Lulu takes them to the door, Hannie in her arms all the time because the girl is a fussy baby.  All of them are hesitant to leave her alone, but she assures them that they'll be just fine. After so much consoling, all of them went home and left Lulu and her two babies.

Lulu smiled at her daughter who is now sleeping in her arms, "It's just us and your gege now, Hannie-ah."

The chinese woman picked up Hoon from the cot in the living room (Tao was playing with him) and put the two babies inside the baby beds in her bedroom. Hannie was fast asleep while Hoon is still fighting off his sleepiness cutely. Lulu stand between the two beds, praying for the three of them in her heart.

"I'm sorry you two won't get to have an appa - but I'll love you more than two parents can ever do. Let's live happily, kids." she whispered.

Luhan doesn't know that an hour later, both of her babies would scream their lungs out. Trials are ahead of her. The chinese woman will have to experience the duty of being a single-mom of twins. From that moment on, it's war.

Hoon and Hannie lay down on Lulu's sides (Mama Bambi in the middle) just the way the nurses laid them when they were handed to Lulu for the very first time. As soon as Minseon yanked Sehun out of the hospital room, Hannie crawled her way to her mama, joining her twin brother. Lulu chuckled at her cute antics, letting her snuggle along with Hoon on her chest.

"Mama?" Hoon called out.

Lulu kissed her son's temple. "Yes?"

"Why mama sleep so long?" Hoon asked, whining. The boy hides his face to her neck. Lulu figures the boy must be crying. Hoon never likes it when people see him crying, so he always hides it - even from his mama and Hannie.

"I'm sorry, Hoonie. You must've been scared." Lulu apologized, patting Hoon's little in a comforting manner. She knows that the boy must be terrified because he never likes strangers or being away from her ever since he was a baby.

Hannie pokes Lulu's cheeks to get her attention. "No. Sehunnie appa vewy good to Hannie. Hannie sleep and eat with Sehunnie appa. Hannie love Sehunnie appa!"

"Hannie," Lulu started. "why do you call Sehun-ssi with appa?"

"Because, Hannie alweady have baba. So Sehunnie appa is appa!" Hannie reasoned, eyes twinkling as she tells her mama stories about Sehun over the two months they were together. It wasn't a secret that Hannie is jealous of her friends for having a father figure in their lives.

"No. Sehunnie appa is baba." Hoon emphasized, making Lulu froze in her position. "Hoon no want baba no more. Hoon want Sehunnie appa and mama."

"Gege!" Hannie squeaked. "Ssssshhh! If baba heawr baba no like gege!"

"Hoon no like baba too." the boy shrugged it off. So what if that said baba hates him; it's not like he ever meets him or anything for him to care about that baba dude anyway. Besides, he has Sehun now.

The two continue arguing over the topic of their baba, not noticing how hurt Lulu is. She is after all both their mama and their baba over the three and a half years. Maybe her love for them is just not enough even though she always tries her hardest in showing them that they're loved.

"Mama, can Sehunnie appa go home with Hannie, Hoon gege, and mama?" Hannie asked her, resting her head on Lulu's shoulder.

Lulu smiled weakly and snuggled her cheek to her daughter's head. "I'm not sure, Hannie."

Because it has been more than four years that it's only the three of them living happily as a family. Why should Luhan let someone who still couldn't be trusted into their life and ruin their little happy family?

Sehun bursted inside the meeting room, taking his seat at the end of the U shaped table. His employees stopped talking to one another as soon as Sehun walked pass them. His aura is not so good thus they don't want to put the CEO in a worse mood than he's already in. He practically looks like a smartly dressed zombie and it scares them even before he opened his mouth.

"Let's get this over with." he started. "Myunghoon-ssi?"

"Y-yes, sir." the head of the company's financial team took out a piece of paper out of his map. "We found the account that receives money from us in big amounts every months for the past years. As I said before, it's in the name of Melrose Park."

"Which Melrose Park?" Sehun asked twice just to be sure.

"Melrose Park the Rosewood Hotels' CEO, sir." another one piped in. "She invested quite a few percent on the MM Project. Her name is definitely on the list of the investor's names. It would be nonsensical that it's her who tried to ruin the project she invested in."

"That, and the fact that Rosewood Hotels are big. Miss Park is ranked in top ten of the richest Korean women CEO. She's a successful young woman herself so there is no apparent motive for her to take money from us."

"Yes." Sehun replied. "But we lost so much money already yet time is still ticking. We're not playing the 'who can prove Melrose is innocent' game. If we don't catch who really took the money soon, then more money would be gone next month."

"Miss Park's name is the one listed on the account's-"

"I got that part. But like you all, I'm not convinced it's Melrose. This robbery is way too clean that we only noticed it after years - even if it was Melrose who did it, an insider must've helped her with this crime. This is definitely a team work." Sehun concluded.

"Should we get police involved in this then?"

"No." the CEO answered. "I'll talk to Melrose about this first. We don't want to ruin her name and Oh Enterprises' name by reporting false accusations to the police."

"Yes sir!" they chorused.

"Good. While we're searching for where the money has gone to, the MM Project's lost fund will be covered with the pending projects' fund." Sehun informed. "The financial team, search for more weird transactions in the past years. Report to me if you found something again. For now, meeting dismissed."

They all stood up from their seats and bowed to Sehun before walking out of the meeting room. One of them tripped on their way out of the meeting room, probably a new guy who is not used to Sehun's flash-like meeting. He's straight to his point most of the time. Sehun would definitely laugh at the poor guy if he wasn't so tired from all the events happening the last night.

"Excuse me, Mr. Oh?" Sehun didn't realize he was dozing off until his secretary popped up in front of him to give him the phone. "It's the twins." she said with a smile.

Hoon and Hannie were in his office a lot these months that they're famous all over the company in a short time. It doesn't surprise Sehun anymore if one or two of his employees would play with two when he's in meetings. The two are too cute for their own good.

Sehun nodded, excusing his secretary out before he put the phone to his ears.

"Hello?"

"Appa .." Hannie called out, her voice raspy. The girl is sniffing her tears in. "Nurse say mama cannot go home with Hannie!"

Sehun chuckled at her cute whining. "I think your mama needs to stay in the hospital a little longer so the doctors can make sure she's really alright. Stop crying, baby girl. Appa will pick you and Hoon gege soon - wait for me, will you?"

"Appa! Hoon want mama home!"  The boy managed to steal the phone away from his sister. Hoon's voice is thicker as well. Sehun wonders what the boy looks like when crying.

"Your mama need more rest, champ. If you cry again then she'll worry more and recover slower. Look, I'll pick you up and we can go home soon so you can rest. My little man must be tired? Give appa 40 more minutes?"

"Hoon not cry!" Hoon exclaimed.

"Yes you did." he teased.

"Appa! No!" Sehun can only imagine Hoon's annoyed face.

"Okay, champs. Whatever you say." he chuckled to the phone. Whatever he said must've annoyed Hoon to no end - because his phone suddenly beeped continuously.

Sehun laughed ironically when the phone call was put to an end. Hoon hung up on him. That young boy should be taught phone manners soon. The blonde man made a mental note for that in his mind.

The CEO checked his wrist-watch to check the current time. It's already pretty late for him to still be in his office. He's usually home earlier than today. What was he waiting for still in his office and not home with his kids yet?

Knock knock

Oh yeah.

"Mr. Oh?" his secretary's head popped inside the door. "Your family lawyer is here. Should I send him in now?"

Sehun gestured with his hand to let his family's lawyer in. A man with a serious expression in suit only a little younger than his father walked in a few minutes after. The man has been the Oh family's lawyer for a few years now so Sehun can surely trust him. He put his suitcase on the table before he sat on the seat next to Sehun's.

"Young Mister Oh. It's been awhile. What can I help you with this time? Lawsuit? Suing another company? Problem with an employee?" the lawyer asked Sehun. Over the years of knowing each other, the man is still stiff around him and can't talk about anything else other than work.

"No. None of those."

"Then what can I help you with?"

Sehun sighed. "I need you to help me on a case for children's custody."

{author's note}

Either you'll bash me or Sehun on the comment section after this lol idk go with it <3

Yea, I gave you a little story of Lulu's part. More details/flashbacks are coming up in the later chapters so wait for it :)

This chapter is actually more of a filler chapter because I'm bumped about abandoning the MM Project's part of the story to focus on Hunhan more. I just want to write a little something about it. The chapter title 'Projects' refer to MM Project and EXO ot10's project to hide Hoon and Hannie away from Sehun.

School is still on though so it will be a while until the next update. Give or take, three-four weeks?

My birthday is on October 15th! <3 So I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to fellow readers whose birthday fell on the same month! :) Let's have a happy blastastic year ahead!

Thank you all for reading :)
