We were alerted this morning that the members of Sugar Girls won the lawsuit against their company's CEO, Lee SungJa. They filed the lawsuit in early February and have successfully won. Some say the feat was due to one of their members having a very rich and powerful father, others say that it was due to the company's name not being very known. Either way, the CEO was seen storming out angrily, dodging all questions thrown at him.
With the loss of a member at the end of their first, and last, promotion cycle, the girl's are now limited to only 4 members. Following this loss the girl's took it upon themselves to nullify their contracts and flee from their company. The reason for the lawsuit was said to be due to inhumane treatments, and lack of payment which lead to a breach of contract, thus the members filing a nullification of their contract. The girl's have said before in interviews that their company had taken their phones away and also regulated their diets to only one meal a day. It has also surfaced that the company's CEO had prohibited them to call their family's or even visit them on holidays.
The question now is, what's next for this group? The press has released that they no longer have the rights to go under the name Sugar girls. Their debut song "Candy" also never made it on the charts and the group failed to grab anyone's attention. Rumors are that the group is signing with another unknown label with a new group name but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Stay tuned for more information on the situation!
