Hitting Two Birds With One StoneIt had been my 200th day in seoul and I was already getting restless. I had come here after my family's business went from riches to rags. I'd go into detail about how it happened but the thought of it still made me feel miserable. I thought I could be our family's breadwinner if I found a job in Seoul even if my parents were totally against me since I was their only girl. I had two younger brothers ChangSun and CheolYong who were in their very early teens, still too young to be aware of our situation. So I did what everyone else would at a time of a crisis like ours- I ran away. I knew they'd be worried but I strongly believed that it was my turn to take charge. (I was turning 22 in a few weeks, I feel old enough.) They were in safe hands anyway, they stayed with my aunt from my father's side who wasn't that well off either and could only offer them shelter and very practical meals three times a day.
Anyway back to my current situation, it is my 200th day here and I've had over 6 part time jobs- a waitress, janitor, nanny to 3 different family's babies, barista, an English tutor and my favourite- a maid. It's not what you think, I didn't have those uniforms they usually portray in mangas. Well to be honest I'd avoid them as much as possible because I was far from y. I have an ironboard as a body.. I guess my face makes up for it since I'm more on the baby face type of girl which was actually why I was able to get all my part time jobs. I had this charm (
