"Eomma" I smiled as I walked into the hospital with Yixing trailing not too far behind.

"Mei Mei" she smiled weakly and waved for me to come to her side "and who is this?" She asked as Yixing came out of hiding.

"Ma, this is Yixing" I smiled and she looked up at him with wide eyes.

“Zhang Yixing?" She inquired as he smiled a nodded "but why are you here together, where is Kris?" I felt my heart clench at the mention of his name. I didn't know where he was or what he was doing.

"He didn't come with us" Yixing took this chance to answer and my mom nodded.

"He never really visited me anyways" she laughed it off and I looked to Yixing who was laughing along with my mom trying to ease the awkwardness “what brings you here today though?”

“I wanted you to meet Yixing at least once” I smiled even despite the lump in my throat.

“Well I’m very pleased to meet you” she smiled and I felt my heart shatter.

Her smile was so bright despite her not having much time left and it broke my heart. Pancreatic cancer was cruel. My mother was my only supporter during my childhood. She praised my school work and chaperoned field trips. She cared for me and sent me off every day with and I love you and have a nice day despite what she was going through with my father. It kills me to think I will be the one who will have to it up and send her off with and I love you and a smile knowing very well she will never come back.

“As am I, Mrs. Huang” he replied politely and I felt the tears well up in my eyes.

“It’s him isn’t it Mei?” she smiled like he was the only star in the sky and gave my hand a light squeeze “The one five years ago”

“Yes,” I felt a smile tug at the corner of my lip and let the first tears fall. She had always told me how much she would like to see the boy who filled her daughter’s life with genuine smiles and happiness so I thought I should grant her that wish.

“I always wanted to meet you,” she beamed and Yixing glanced over to me with eyes wide in surprise.

“She knows all about you,” I chuckled and wiped my tears “She’s always known”

“How much exactly do you know?” he said playfully and sat down beside her causing her to laugh.

“More than you think,” she quipped causing him to laugh.

“She’s quick” he chuckled and I smiled “Eommoni, you must tell me all of Mei’s darkest secrets”

“Yah, Zhang Yixing!” I nearly choked and hit him with the extra pillow beside the bed making my mother burst out in a fit of laughter.

“You were her dirty little secret!” she chuckled as his jaw dropped and I nearly died.
