Kris POV

      I never thought I would ever be able to actually enjoy a morning with Mei and act as if our relatiosnship was normal. None the less being happy with our time together even though I know her heart is torn. I feel so resentful towards myself half the time  knowing that I am the reason she is the way she is. To know I had the power to prevent our marriage but didn't due to my own selfishness probably kills me the most. Today though I am content with our progress considering its better than we have ever been.

"Excuse me Mr.Wu?" My assisant spoke in a hushed tone as I looked up from the file I was about to open after snapping out of my own thoughts.

"Just let me in" a feminine voice screeched as my assisant was shoved out of the way  revealing my mother barging into my office obviously infuriated.

"Mother?" I stood up as she threw a news paper onto my desk and slapping me across the face.

"Explain what the hell this is!" she shrieked as I glanced down at the paper ignoring the stinging on my left cheek. I slowly read the title of the article before feeling a small pang in my heart.

"Ceo Wu Yifan and His Wife at War?" she mocked me before scoffing "Ceo wu's multiple acts of adultery and Mrs.Wu's budding love affair"

"Mother it's not what it seems like" I tried to explained but she raised her hand silencing me.

"Do not lie to the woman who gave you life! I knew that would betray us soon enough but it is your fault that you can not even keep your household under control!" she yelled  while I rubbed my temples.

"It's not her fault she hasn't done anything wrong!" I tried explaining but she obviously wasn't going to hear anything she didn't want to.

"Who's the man?"  she sighed as I stared back at her. My mother was never truly fond of Mei but this was unnexceptable "I will not repeat myself Wu Yifan!"

"Kris" I looked over to the doorway where Mei was standing holding the newspaper in her hands looking a bit traumatized.

"You selfish !" my mother screamed as soon as she laid eyes on her slapping her hard enough to throw her to the ground.

"Mother!" I yelled holding her wrist as she raised it to hit Mei again.

"You have ruined my family" she
