6 days to go ...

**Jang Mi's POV**

I found out about the marriage. Mrs Kim called to tell mother about what happened and I'd picked up the call incidentally - she sounded like she'd been crying. I wonder what else happened besides what she'd said before I'd hung up from shock.

Surprisingly, I wasn't sad, nor was I happy, I was just empty. The boy I loved was getting further and further away from me. All my hopes and dreams - that he may have care for me back, shrivelled into nothing.

I wondered what his fiancée looked like. Did she have long hair or short hair ? Did she have brown eyes, green eyes or blue eyes ? Did she like to read ? Did she like to run ? Did she love Jonghyun ? Would she love him ? Did she approve of the marriage ? The questions ran through my mind endlessly – my head turned into a black hole of questions with unknown answers. It was the not knowing that made it hardest.

Even if Jonghyun did care for me back, now he'd be married. I had no chance anymore, can I move on just like that ? Jonghyun had always been there - what will it be like when I'm suddenly stood out in the wide open world - no one by my side. How lonely will my life be from here on out ?

The one nagging worry was that Jonghyun would follow down the same road as Su-Ah, his sister. I didn't want that, I couldn't let that happen ... It was bad enough the first time ...

I miss her ...

5 days to go ...

I decided to spend the evening after school with my Grandma. She was kept on the hospital all the time now, she knows that she won't last much longer, so do I, though I barely ever admit it …

She'd recently been admitted to the intensive care unit because her condition was rapidly getting worse - I didn't want her to be on her own in the hospital. Grandpa had had her by his side day and night but now he's gone. I don't remember grandpa well ... My dad never let me spend a lot of time with his parents until Grandpa died and I was allowed to visit Grandma.

When I arrived at the hospital, the new receptionist directed me to her room and I sat quietly by her bedside while she peacefully slept. I didn't want to wake her but desperately needed someone to talk to. She was the only person who I'd told. No names, no descriptions, but feelings. I'd share every emotion with her because she was the person who understood me and who I could trust to not tell anyone. She always knew exactly what to say.

*** Jonghyun's POV ***

I got a call from Jinki telling me that Mi was going to the hospital after school and I had no doubt that as was going to see her grandma - she never failed to visit her every other day.

There was a young receptionist sat at the desk who I’d never seen here before, she only looked a year or two older than me. I asked her the room number for Mrs Kim, telling her that she was my Grandma so it didn't seem suspicious.

"Room 304, your sister has already arrived" she smiled at me, I returned the smile and she lightly blushed. "Up the stairs to the left". I thanked her and headed up the stairs trying not to bump into Mi; I didn't want her to know I was here.  I needed to be here in case anything happened - I was her protector, after all.

Sure enough ... there she was. Sat beside her Grandma holding her hand tightly and looking at her, inspecting her condition. She was so admirable, she didn't often go out with friends but did a lot of work around this hospital on weekends to be near her Grandma.

I stood there looking at her ...

*** No one's POV ***

... unaware that there were a similar pair of eyes looking at him ...

I updated !! I had a Spanish exam today and wrote most of this while waiting for the exam to start ^^ Another two exams tomorrow ....

Now Jang Mi knows that Jonghyun has been set up in an arranged marriage !!
