No One Knows
Description
As we trudged through the muddy grass towards the victim’s home, the remaining policemen parked their cars alongside the property’s curb with their sirens on, providing light for the dark street. The slippery, wooden steps to the old house groaned as the six of us walked over them to enter through the rotting door. The current downpour didn’t help with the preservation of the weak timber flooring, and the wind from the storm forced the oak rocking chair at the far end of the covered porch to sway back and forth. I entered the victim’s home and scrunched up my face in disgust as a familiar scent of rust drifted into my nostrils. Lay and I, with four officers, followed the dreadful scent through the hallway, not seeing any signs of struggle along the way. I noticed various family pictures and one especially large photo of an elderly woman showed a close up of her smiling face and deep wrinkles surrounding her brown eyes. Lay spotted me examining the portrait, “she seems so lovely,” his dark eyes full of sorrow as he stared at the photograph of the victim. “Yeah, she does…,” my words trailed away as one of the officers quickly came towards us with a look of disturbance on his face, "Kris, you need to come quickly, we found something that you and your friend has to see". Lay and I looked at each other worriedly as we were led towards the bathroom by the horrified officer who stopped next to a white, half-open door. My partner , who was the first to reach the door, nervously looked inside the room, and his usual pale face turned a ghostly-white. I walked into the room and instead of seeing the perfectly clean and white bathroom I imagined, all I could see was red.

Characters
Kris:
- Works as a detective for China's NPA (National Police Angency); has been for four years
- Age is mid-30s
- Has a dislikeable personality, so he doesn't have a lot of friends
- Difficult to talk to and very intimidating, but can be friendly
- Doesn't trust others easily, except his investigating partner, Lay
- His best friend and investigation partner is Lay (likes him a little more than a friend)
- Very protective of Lay and hates it when someone chooses not to help someone who needs it
Lay:
- Works as a detective for China's NPA; has been for four years (same as Kris)
- Age is mid-30s
- Opposite to Kris; has a very likeable personality and talks to everyone
- Although he is friendly, he can get possessive over anything and gets jealous easily
- Also doesn't trust others easily, except Kris
- Kris is his best friend and Lay likes him more than a friend
- Has been living with Kris since they became friends
**Note**
Hi everyone, this is my very first story on AFF and I hope you like it eventhough I'm new to this and...yeah. So there are a couple of things I just want to mention before I start really getting into the story.
Other EXO members may be mentioned in the story also, but the two main characters (LAY and KRIS) will be used the most
I know that I'm not using their real ages, but it would make more sense to make them 30 or something
All flashback scenes will be in italics, so any writing that is in italics will be from the character's past
NPA stands for National Police Agency, which is in China, therefore the setting is in China :)
Finally, they joined the NPA at the same time, so that's why they are investigating partners and friends
Again, I hope you enjoy my story and please don't plagarize as I have tried really hard to come up with a good story to entertain others. Also if any part of my story seems similar to others it is a coincidence.
