Mir blinked, dusky eyelashes shielding him from the sun’s bright rays as he squinted. Carrion birds swirled in the deceptive blue sky above. Not a cloud in the sky, no rain to quench the parched, cracked ground on which he lay. Where was he? The stench of blood filled his nostrils, that ugly metallic scent, he could even taste it on his split lip. With the smells came the sounds, screams of pain, groans of the dying. A battlefield.

his broken and chapped lips he gently inclined his head, looking down the planes of his body. Torn leather armor that hadn’t done any good against the swords of the enemy, neat white bandages soaked crimson lacing his chest. He leaned his head back, not caring for the dust that tangled in his matted hair, the rest of him was already covered in it, after all.

Who had done the bandaging for him? Who had taken the time, out of all the dead that needed burial, and all the injured that needed anything that could be given, why was he chosen? Mir was not used to receiving attention, and certainly not that of the life saving kind. There was only one person who would do such a thing for him. Where was Joon? It had to be him, and Mir nearly managed a smile at that. His Joon, protecting him at such a time. It should not have made him feel so special, that the man he loved had abandoned his troops, his duty, those lives, the very instant he had been stuck down. It shouldn’t have increased the adoration, affection, in his heart – and yet it did, all the same.

Ah Joon…Joonie-Hyung. Oppa, if he was in a little bit of an ‘interesting’ mood. He thought about craning his neck to the side to look for him, surely he was nearby, before he thought better of it. He was finally beginning to realize just how much his entire body hurt. Not only bruises, torn and battered muscles from the exertions of the day, but mental exhaustion as well. It had taken everything he’d had to lift his head a little bit ago. He hoped fervently that Joon would be back soon so he wasn’t just saved from death only to die of dehydration, or something as silly and preventable as that.

At last there was a shuffling sound from behind him and he nearly moaned with relief. Finally, Joon was back. A figure blocked the sun, and Mir would have given him everything he hand in his thanks. He felt if he’d had to suffer another moment under that bli

Chapter 4: Now that was the last straw... Mir is totally out of hus mind. This was unescapable I guess. He was too deeply in love with Joon nd had hoped too much. It seems so unfair that no one seems to understand him or try to help him... Joon needs to hurry up and go back to him otherwise he'll drown in insanity.

Chapter 3: Poor Mir is going out of his mind. He shouldn't let gimself being drawn into this but I can understand he is just helpless. What can he do? There's no way to make Joon come back. He can only hope his threat would have worked. I'm so sad for him...

Chapter 2: I can't really nail Chanyeol. He seems to be a thoughtful man and yet, he can be so cold to Mir. One moment he seems to understand him and even share his pain and the next moment he sounds like a careless man who slightly relished in making Mir ache. Mir is a mess and I don't think Chanyeol's behaviour is helping him much. But Mir's sudden fits of anger where he lets his rage flows are just incredibly painful. Thanks for the update!^^

Chapter 1: That first chapter was very moving. Mir is so helpless and he is so confused. And Chanyeol's behaviour leaves him completely numb. His denial is sotrong it is really sad. Though we know Joon is alive, I can't help but think "what if he wasn't". Then this denial is just too cruel and hard. You gave us a great chapter here. I'm looking forward to rhe other stages of this depression. But I won't hide you I'm incredibly releived to know they'll be reunited in the end.
