Love At First Sight

Split In Half

Jimin looked down at the bowl of porridge that was placed in front of him, his appetite slowly going away once again. He sighed and closed his eyes, lightly pushing the table away from him as he leaned back into the pillow and tried to relax his exhausted body.

It has been a week since Jimin has been in the hospital and though his body was slowly recovering, his emotional state was feeling worse than usual. It may have been because of the gloomy air in the hospital, or the continuous bowls of porridge that the nurse serves him, but for some odd reason, it felt like a huge piece was missing in his life. Every single day that went by in that week, Jimin couldn't shake off the feeling of something not being right.

Jimin shook the thoughts out of his head as the door to his room opened.

"Jimin-ah!" Kikwang greeted as he walked into the room coolly.

Jimin forced a small smile on his face as he watched Kikwang pull a chair up beside him and drop his backpack beside it, sitting down onto the chair while leaning forward and resting his elbows on the bed. Kikwang looked towards the table beside Jimin's bed, noticing the full bowl of porridge on it. He turned to look at his younger cousin with a raised eyebrow.

"Why didn't you eat your food?"

Jimin sighed as he shrugged. "I guess I'm just not in the mood to eat."

Kikwang looked at Jimin disapprovingly before getting up and walking over to the table, grabbing the porridge and a spoon. "Well if you're not going to eat, I'll eat this. It's a waste of food."

Jimin nodded and looked down at his hands, that uneasy feeling entering him again. He turned to look at Kikwang, watching as he shoved a spoonful of the porridge into his mouth. *I can't take this anymore.* Jimin thought as he let out a deep breath, closing his eyes to get himself emotionally ready. He opened his eyes and looked forward.

"Hyung, did something else happen to me other than my broken arm?"

Kikwang loudly coughed and choked on the food as he heard Jimin's question.

Jimin's eyes widened in concern. "Hyung! Are you okay?"

Kikwang nodded as he punched his chest, placing the porridge back on the table before taking a gulp of the water that was also provided for Jimin. He let out a deep breath as he finished the water, letting out one final cough and turning his attention back to the younger boy.

"That porridge tasted like ." Kikwang stated disgustingly and sat on the edge of Jimin's bed, staring at him. "But what do you mean?"

Jimin looked down at his hands. "I don't know why but for the past few days, I've been feeling like something is missing in my life. I don't know how to explain it but it just feels like something was taken away from me." He explained as he looked up at Kikwang. "Do you get it?"

Kikwang slowly nodded in understanding.

Jimin let out a sigh. "It just seems like something else is wrong with me."

Kikwang bit his bottom lip as he looked at Jimin with apologetic eyes. When he saw the look of exhaustion and frustration on Jimin's face, he felt guilty and bad about the fact that he couldn't let his cousin know about his amnesia. He could tell him, but Jungkook and V had begged him a few days ago to not tell Jimin. He still doesn't understand why the two lover boys forbid him to tell Jimin of his real condition, but he decided to follow their wish. He also noticed how Jungkook and V are somewhat distant with one another. The three boys had met up at a small restaurant to talk about the matter and Kikwang noticed that the they had ignored each other and only talked to Kikwang. Either way, he promised them that he wouldn't tell Jimin and let his cousin live life as if the past 8 months have not happened. He doesn't know why they are doing this but he trusts that they know what they're doing.

"Hyung."

Kikwang snapped out of his thoughts as he looked at Jimin with confused eyes. "Yes?"

Jimin raised an eyebrow at him. "Are you okay? You kind of blanked out for awhile."

"Don't worry." Kikwang gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm fine."

Jimin continued to look at Kikwang suspiciously as he was not fully convinced that there was nothing wrong with his cousin. He knew Kikwang one hundred percent that he could write a whole book about him, and right now, he could tell that he was hiding something from him. Jimin lightly shook his head and decided to push it away since he also knows how his cousin doesn't like being pushed to say something he doesn't want to.

The room became silent as the two boys drifted off into their own worlds. Kikwang kept thinking about the weird behavour between Jungkook and V while Jimin tried to think about what the older boy could possibly be hiding from him.

"Hello boys."

Jimin and Kikwang slightly jumped in their spots, turning their heads to the direction of the voice.

Mr. Sung lightly chuckled as he walked into the room carrying a clipboard. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle the two of you."

Jimin gave the doctor a warm smile. "It's okay Mr. Sung."

"Is there something wrong?" Kikwang asked as he looked at Mr. Sung.

Mr. Sung shook his head as he moved to stand by the foot of Jimin's bed, smiling down at the injured boy. "Nothing is wrong. I'm just here to tell Jimin-ssi that if he wishes to, he can leave the hospital already. Since you seem to be recovering and your strength is slowly coming back, I think it's safe enough for you to leave now. Just make sure to come for your regular check-ups regarding your arm and to also be extra careful when you're outside."

A huge smile formed on Jimin's face as the excitement ran through him. "Really? I can leave the hospital now?"

"Yes you can." Mr. Sung replied before turning to look at Kikwang. "I just need you to sign some release papers for him."

Kikwang smiled at Jimin. "Do you want to leave the hospital Jimin?"

Jimin looked at his cousin in disbelief. "What kind of question is that hyung? Of course I do!" Jimin exclaimed before giving Kikwang an annoyed pout. "Besides, I'm sick of porridge."

Kikwang and Mr. Sung laughed at Jimin's remark as they found his expression to be childish and cute.

"Then you can come with me to sign the papers." Mr. Sung told Kikwang.

Kikwang nodded and stood up from his chair, looking over at Jimin one last time. "I'll be right back okay?" He spoke in a soft tone as he walked towards Mr. Sung.

Mr. Sung snapped his fingers as he looked at Jimin. "By the way Jimin, how's your head? Does it hurt at all?"

Kikwang's eyes widened.

Jimin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "My head feels fine. Why are you asking?"

Mr. Sung looked at Jimin oddly. "Well, you see, it's normal for patients that are in your condition to have headaches once in awhile."

"What do you mean patients in my condition?" Jimin looked towards Kikwang and noticed how fidgety and nervous his cousin has become.

"I'm talking about your am--"

"Okay!" Kikwang yelled out as he wrapped an arm around Mr. Sung's shoulder, a forced smile planted on his face. "How about we go sign those papers?" Kikwang suggested as he began to drag Mr. Sung out of the room, ignoring the suspicious stare his cousin gave him.

Jimin's eyes lingered on the door a minute even after Kikwang and Mr.Sung had left, a skeptical look on his face. The way Kikwang has been acting lately-the constant daydreams and fidgety movements- is not really his thing. Now Jimin was a thousand percent sure that his cousin was hiding something from him, and he felt like it connected to why he's been feeling so empty recently.

Jimin decided to forget the weird feeling in his stomach and decided to focus on the fact that he was going to be leaving the hospital now. He let out a relieved sigh as he closed his eyes, happy that he would finally be getting out of this boring room. He opened his eyes when a thought suddenly hit him, causing for his excitement to be replaced with nervousness.

"Wait." Jimin spoke to no one in particular. "Does this mean that I'll have to go to Bangtan Elite High?"

Jimin began to feel uneasy at the thought of attending a new school, and not to mention that it's one of the most famous all boys school in Seoul. Ever since he was young, Jimin has been attending regular mixed public schools. Now that he was about to move into a prestigious school where it was all boys and that you had to stay in a dorm, it kind of scared him a bit. What if he wasn't smart enough and he gets kicked out? What if he isn't cool enough and nobody wants to befriend him? What if his roommate is a total creeper or a thief? What if people make fun of him because of his broken arm? Jimin is a guy and he knows how guys can be s sometimes.

Jimin sighed and tried to push away the negative thoughts. "I'm probably just overreacting. I'm sure there will be at least one person who'd want to be friends with me." He told himself as he nodded, staring at the wall opposite of him. "That's right. You're just overreacting Park Jimin. Everyone will love you!"

"Everyone will probably hate you."

Jimin snapped his head towards the door and met eyes with Kikwang while the older boy smirked teasingly at him. Jimin puffed his cheeks out and watched as Kikwang moved to grab his backpack off the floor, placing it on the chair he was previously sitting in.

"Lucky for you, I bring extra clothes with me. You know, just in case." Kikwang stated as he reached into his bag and took out fresh clothes for Jimin to change into. "It probably fits you."

Jimin excitedly took the clothes away from Kikwang's hand as he stood up from the bed, his legs feeling weak from the one week he has spent lying in the bed. He stretched his body out a bit and began to walk towards the bathroom, closing the door shut behind him. He dropped the clothes onto the sink while he looked at his reflection in the mirror, noticing how skinny he has become. Jimin tilted his head to the side as he leaned closer to the mirror, poking his now skinny cheeks. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. *I need to eat more starting today.*

With that, Jimin began trying to change out of the horrible and boring hospital clothes. He was the type of person who always tried to look good and cool and he couldn't be happier at the sight of the casual clothes that Kikwang had given him. He reached his free arm over his head to untie the knot in the back but found after a few minutes of constant struggling and groaning, he couldn't reach it.

"Kikwang hyung!" He yelled out.

Kikwang opened the door and stared at Jimin, noticing the angry pout on the younger boy's face.

"Arm?" Kikwang asked.

Jimin sighed and gave Kikwang a hopeless expression. "I can't change out of my clothes."

Kikwang chuckled in response and nodded, moving towards Jimin to help him get changed into his new clothes.

After 20 minutes of yelling and screaming at one another, Jimin was finally wearing a regular white v-neck shirt, dark blue denim skinny jeans, and a pair of black converse.

Kikwang pouted at Jimin as he rubbed his arm. "Gosh Jimin. When did you learn to hit so hard?" He gave his cousin a look of disbelief as he glanced down at the red hand mark on his pale skin.

"It's your fault for pinching me on the side. It hurts!" Jimin whined.

"Well maybe if you weren't moving around so much I wouldn't have had to pinch you to stop." Kikwang said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Jimin glared at Kikwang. "You could've just asked me to stop!"

Kikwang gawked at Jimin. "I did!"

Jimin let out a frustrated groan as he began to walk towards the door.

Kikwang watched Jimin. "Yah! Where do you think you're going?" He asked while he sat on the empty bed.

Jimin shrugged and looked over his shoulder at Kikwang. "I'm just going to take a walk around the hospital."

Kikwang's phone began to rang as he ran over to grab it, looking at the screen before a huge smile formed on his face. "Okay then. Just be careful and come back in 10 minutes." He told Jimin without looking up from his phone and answering the incoming call, pressing the phone excitedly to his ear. "Babe! I miss you!" He yelled into the phone.

Jimin rolled his eyes at his cousin and walked out of the room, looking at both ends of the hallway before moving towards the right side. He slipped his free hand into his pocket as he walked through the hallway, smiling at the patients and nurses that passed by him and occassionally waving at the little kids who smiled brightly at him.

The sound of guitar playing entered his ears.

Jimin stopped in his tracks as he looked to his left, peering into a room where the door was left wide open. He watched as a kid ran into the room, following afterwards and standing by the door unnoticed. He looked to the far side of the room where a boy around his age sat in a chair, a circle of kids sitting on the ground around him. Jimin's eyes slightly widened in interest as he watched the guy play the guitar skillfully, his head nodding along to the tune he was playing.

Jimin was slowly captivated into the music as he stared at the guy, his eyes scanning over the other boy's features. The brown hair that seemed to shine as it hit the sunlight that streamed in through the windows; the mischievous look in his eyes that gave off the bad boy feel; his slightly chubby but hollow cheeks; his nose that was just perfect for his face; the lips that looked so plump and beautiful. Before he knew it, Jimin was staring a little longer than he wanted to be.

Jimin held his breath as the guy looked up at him, their eyes meeting. *Oh my gosh...* He thought as he froze in spot, his mind suddenly going blank as he stared at the beautiful eyes that were looking at him. He didn't even care about the fact that he had just been caught staring since he was too busy freaking out about the way the guy was looking at him. The guy gave him a small smile before turning his attention back to the kids, asking them what song they would like for him to play next. If Jimin thought his physical features were beautiful, his voice was a thousand times better.

Jimin turned away from the room as he leaned on the wall beside the door, lifting his hand to his chest to feel his heart beating rapidly.

"Holy ." He whispered, the image of the small smile the guy flashed him stamped into his mind.

Jimin slightly peeked into the room again and watched as the guy continued to play the guitar, the kids around him laughing happily while clapping along to the playful song that echoed in the room. His eyes scanned the kids before it moved back towards the guy. At this moment, Jimin felt like he could stare at the mystery guy all day if he could.

The guy looked up and met eyes with Jimin again but this time, Jimin returned the small smile. The corner of the guys lips slightly lifted up into a smirk as he gave Jimin a wink.

Jimin gulped as he quickly leaned against the wall again, his heart beating even faster than before. The thought of love at first sight entered his mind. He wasn't really one to believe in it, but when the sound of the guitar filled his ears, his mind and body disagreed greatly.

"I think I'm in love."

Looks like Jungkook and V have some competition.

I wasn't kidding when I said the story was only beginning now.

Who could the mystery guy be...
