After informing DongJun of her memory loss, he agreed to help her out any way that he could. He told her to meet him on the filming of Dream Team because it might help trigger some past memories. JaeHyo was part of Dream Team, so HaNeul tagged along. As they were leaving, JaeHyo got a very intimidating glare from YooKwon, which was obviously his warning to take good care of HaNeul if he wants to live.

“Wow, this is huge…” HaNeul marveled at the huge set in front of her.

“HaNeul, will you be okay like this?” JaeHyo worried as he followed behind her.

“I already told you I’m not following you behind the set,” HaNeul growled with a glare so JaeHyo would back off. However, his concern was more dominant than his fear this time.

“But you should at least wait in the car or something…it’s really cold today…” JaeHyo whined. “YooKwon is gonna kill me if you get sick! And sure, he might not look like much, but he’s REALLY scary when he’s upset!”

“Hyo-goon, I want to watch you and DongJun perform…please~?” HaNeul requested with her hands clasped together next to her cheek, hoping to look cute. It seemed to have worked as JaeHyo sputtered and started spazzing out, not sure what to do with seeing HaNeul’s aeygo. (A/N: You know what I’m talking about. The thing JaeHyo does when he gets all embarrassed. XD)

“Oh, why don’t you come backstage with me as coordinator?” JaeHyo countered which caused HaNeul to lose her cute image immediately as she rolled her eyes in annoyance.

“JaeHyo!”

“I’ll admit it! I’m scared of that damn Kwon! Pleaaaaase for the sake of my safety! Please, please PLEEAAAASE come with me!” JaeHyo stubbornly continued even hanging on HaNeul’s arm and getting on his knees.

“Ahn JaeHyo, would you get up and act your age?!” HaNeul hissed in a whispered tone as she looked around, really thankful that it is much too early for fans to be in the area yet.

“Oh! JaeHyo-hyung, HaNeul, you guys are here!”

HaNeul slammed her eyes shut with a groan. She glared at JaeHyo menacingly (only to be rewarded with a merong) before turning to DongJun with a half smile.

“Hi, DongJun…I was trying my best not to be a bother, so I was kindly asking JaeHyo to let me be in the audience and watch you guys from there…” HaNeul tried to excuse herself.

“Oh, then you should just watch from backstage!” DongJun jumped on the bandwagon immediately, even grabbing her wrist so she couldn’t even counter. JaeHyo cheered inwardly as he helped push HaNeul along. Unable to fight back, she had no choice but to be carted backstage. Not forgetting her manners, she bowed almost 90° at all the staff and apologized for imposing on them. She felt extremely awkward and tried her best to go unnoticed…which didn’t go very well.

“DongJun-ah, who’s this? Your girlfriend?” one of the staff asked.

DongJun broke out in a loud laughter and shook his head and hands, denying the fact immediately.

“Ahhh…if my hyung heard that, he would kill me on the spot,” DongJun commented with a smile, making sure not to reveal who HaNeul was dating.

“She’s a relative of Block B who came to cheer JaeHyo-hyung on. I just happen to be good friends with her as well,” he cleared up as the staff nodded and told HaNeul to not get in the way. She agreed and bowed once more.

HaNeul sighed, “See? This is exactly why I didn’t want to come backstage…”

DongJun just smiled innocently and ruffled her hair. She smacked his hand away and huffed at him. In order to alert all of the staff of her presence, she went off to greet everyone else including all the members of Dream Team.

JaeHyo gave DongJun a suspicious look.

He blinked at his hyung curiously with big eyes and asked, “What? Is there something on my face?”

“What exactly is your relationship with OUR HaNeul?” JaeHyo questioned pointedly, sensing something other than friendship between the two of them. DongJun just smiled like he always does and even giggled before giving an answer he knew JaeHyo would not be happy about.

“Secret~”

~

HaNeul watched in awe as the Derpy member of Block B actually did something right for once and passed the whole race (with complications in a few obstacles) with an awesome record. She clapped with a laugh as she watched him posing at the camera as if taunting those behind him to beat his record.

“For once he actually looks cool,” HaNeul mumbled to herself as JaeHyo waved at the fans for their support causing a huge uproar. As a member of the opposing team went up, she searched for DongJun. Her head cocked in confusion as he seemed more nervous than usual while warming up before his turn. When JaeHyo finally came back to join his team, HaNeul texted a message to JaeHyo to ask what was up with DongJun. She sent his manager up to him with JaeHyo’s phone so he could get her message (as she refused to get anywhere near the members of Dream Team now that there was a crowd and was currently hiding very deeply within the crew members).

After reading her message, he sent one back to her explaining that he was labeled the Ace of Dream Team recently since Ricky hadn’t been doing so well and DongJun had been improving immensely, yet ever since he was labeled the Ace, he had been doing poorly and even failing some of the easiest obstacle due to carelessness.

HaNeul tapped her phone against her chin as she pouted her lips in thought.

“Why does this sound familiar…”

In the mist of her pondering, it was DongJun’s turn and just as JaeHyo predicted, the Ace of the team failed the first time around. She continued thinking as she watched him climb out of pit with a devastated face, furious with himself for failing so carelessly (and taking his anger out on the poor Styrofoam padding he had landed in). The rest of Dream Team did their best to cheer him up by patting him on the back and giving him a hug, telling him that he’s doing fine and just needs to relax.

“No…that’s not what he needs…” she thought, finding it strange that she knew what to do in this situation.

She picked up her cell phone and started texting to JaeHyo again.

~

“Hey, DongJun-ah…it’s okay…you just got some bad luck with the rotation of the pull-up bars…it’s not your fault…”  JaeHyo tried to comfort, only to get the silent treatment as DongJun hung his head just a few centimeters above his knees.

JaeHyo sighed. His phone vibrated, informing him that he got another text. He raised his eyebrow in uncertainty but mumbled, “If you say so…”

The older (and taller) boy tapped DongJun’s shoulder, handing him his phone with the text HaNeul just sent him. Oddly afraid of the younger (and shorter) one, JaeHyo moved back a little, in case DongJun blew up in anger at what HaNeul said to him…

…only received the completely opposite reaction.

DongJun broke out in an unforeseeable fit of laughter as he smirked down at her words of encouragement.

“Same old HaNeul,” he whispered to himself with a last chuckle. He looked up at the course before him once more before nodding.

As the last person on the other team passed the last obstacle, DongJun got up and threw JaeHyo’s phone back to him.

He smiled widely at JaeHyo (back to his innocent shining self again) before taunting while running backwards, “Sorry, Hyung, but I’m going to have to beat your record now~!”

JaeHyo gaped at his 180° sudden change in attitude.

“…I liked you better depressed,” the sulky one decided as he crossed his arms and sank into his seat, knowing full well that a confident DongJun meant his record was most likely about to get broken.

~

“Is there anything else I can do?” HaNeul asked the staff member politely as she put one of the poles down from the set.

“No, thank you, you’ve already done so much when you’re supposed to be a guest,” the staff member laughed. “Here, have a drink. I’m sure you’re freezing.”

“Oh, no! I’m quite all right, thank you very much. I’m sorry for being a bother,” HaNeul politely declined with a bow after waving his offer off. He chuckled at her action and walked off, whispering something along the lines of “Such a nice girl.” She sighed in relief, glad that she didn’t make a horrible impression with the staff since her actions reflect Block B’s image (as JaeHyo brought her here).

“Are you going to use your height as an excuse? You’re being an embarrassment to the rest of the shorties out there. Stop thinking so hard and just do it. Isn’t that how you always are?”

HaNeul whipped around as DongJun quoted her text word for word with a smirk.

“After all these years you still haven’t learned how to encourage people properly, huh?” DongJun complained with a pout.

HaNeul scoffed and smirked at him, “It worked, didn’t it? I say I’m plenty good at encouraging people.”

He laughed as his smile softened.

“Déjà vu.”

She stared at him as his smile had suddenly seemed different than usual.

“You’ve done this for me before. Come watch my games and give me a harsh push when I needed it to do better…do you remember, HaNeul?” He sat down next to her and brushed her hair back after being tousled by the wind to get a better look at her. His chuckle resonated in her mind.

“I’m sorry for not noticing your stares back then…”

HaNeul’s eyes widened as a waterfall of memories flooded her mind. She winced in pain and held her head.

“HaNeul, are you okay? What’s wrong?” DongJun held her up as she started to feel faint.

“HANEUL!”

The last thing she saw before she blanked out was DongJun diving forward for her.

~

“Hi! You must be Lee HaNeul, the new girl in school.”

“Hi…”

“My name is Kim DongJun~ it’s nice to meet you!”

“You sure are friendly…”

“I know how much it being new in your school, so I thought I would introduce myself.”

-

“So you play football?”

“Yeah, why don’t you come by some time and play with me?”

-

“Why did I have to be born so short, HaNeulie? If I was taller…I could make the football team with no problem…”

“So what if you’re short? You’re still better than all of those uncoordinated idiots that are just there because of their height and/or strength. Just give it a try. You’ll get in.”

-

“HaNeul, I made the team!”

“Well, of course. I’m never wrong about these things~ now you should buy me lunch as thanks.”

“Anything for my good luck charm! You have to come to all my games from now on, okay?”

“Hah? Who’s your good luck charm?!”

-

“Hey, HaNeul…can I ask your help with something?”

“I dunno…it might cost you a limb, but sure, what you need, Short Stuff?”

“Well…there’s this girl I like…and I was wondering what’s the best way to confess to her…”

“Whoa~ The Football Ace, Kim DongJun, has a crush on someone?! Breaking news!”

“Lee HaNeul~!”

“I’m just teasing…but…there is no best way to confess…as long as you’re sincere and truthful…”

“That’s the worst advice you’ve ever given me…”

“EVERYONE! KIM DONGJUN HAS A CRUSH ON SOMEONE!”

“I’M SORRY! I WAS KIDDING! LEE HANEUL~!”

-

“HaNeul! Did I ever tell you that you’re the best friend I could ever have?!”

“Well, yes, but what brings you to say it this time?”

“I confessed just like you said and I have a girlfriend now!”

~

You were really so dense back then, Kim DongJun…but I can’t blame it all on you either…I wasn’t aware of my own feelings for you until you were no longer within my reach. How is it that we were so close and yet so far apart? I probably fell for you the moment you radiated that bright and shining smile of yours at me.

I had always thought being in love with someone was just an exchange. The more you are willing to exchange with another person, the more you are in love with that person. Perhaps I had always believed that the more I gave to you, the closer we were.

The more we were ‘in love.’

But I had been deluded.

And my delusions were shattered as you walked away with another girl in your arms.

I never blamed you for it. It wasn’t your fault. There was no way you could have known.

I blame my own ignorance.

I blame my upbringing.

For someone who had never been exposed to what actual love looks like.

For someone who had never experienced firsthand what actual love is like.

There was no way I could have known.

It hurt, losing you, but it was a lesson I had learned well that day and what brought me to a better understanding of the world I lived in.

And so when I left Busan for Gyeonggi…

I left without saying a word.

So that my feelings would never reach you and you would have no regret for hurting my feelings.

So I would have no bitter feelings towards you for not noticing me as more than a best friend.

So that I could live in my delusions, untouched by the harsh reality of truth.

So that I could learn how to love.

Love…

What is love…

~

It all sounded too familiar…

My dreams…

In my dream, it was YooKwon that left me behind.

But in reality…

It was DongJun.

DongJun was the best friend that I fell for and lost because of how ignorant I was of my own feelings.

~

“HaNeul…HaNeul…she’s waking up…are you okay? Please tell me you’re okay. You don’t have a concussion, do you? Wah, YooKwon is going to kill me! Don’t tell him about this, okay?!” JaeHyo panicked as he turned left and right, flailing his arms like a crazy person.

She slowly got up and held her head with a groan. Her vision was still a bit blurry from just waking up.

“Where am I?” she wondered groggily.

“We’re almost at the dorm. Here, have some water. Are you okay?” JaeHyo continued in paranoia. HaNeul didn’t answer him. She was too busy trying to remember all the crazy dreams she had. Before JaeHyo could nag her anymore, the car stopped in front of the dorm.

“Ah! Why is YooKwon there?! It’s freezing outside! Oh, gosh! He must know! He has a sixth sense that’s attached to you and he can smell that you’re in pain!” JaeHyo cried dramatically.

HaNeul ignored his outrageous worries and opened the door to leave the car. Before she could step foot out of the car, YooKwon was at the door with a gorgeous smile on his bright face as if he was seeing her for the first time in years. She tried to shoot him an enthusiastic smile back only to black out and lose her balance walking out of the car. YooKwon swiftly caught her and helped her up as she tried to stand on her own without falling over.

“What…what happened? Why are you so unstable?” YooKwon questioned in concern as he continued holding her up in fear she might fall over again. However, HaNeul’s thoughts were still on the new theory she suspected could be the truth behind her missing memories. If her theory is true…then one of her dreams significantly bothered her.

“YooKwon…tell me…”

“What is it?”

“…have I ever killed someone…”

=====================================================================

BUM BUM BUM. HUGE TURNING POINT!

In case you guys missed it, HaNeul is referring back to what happened in Ch. 3, “Is It Only Me?” where she hooks YooKwon up with HaYoung. Turns out ‘YooKwon’ was actually DongJun! Didn’t see that coming, did ja?

Mwahahahahaha…that’s not the end of DongJun. Oh no…:)

But I think before I go insane with the plot, Kwoneul needs a breather. So the next chapter will be a cute and cuddly one…

…I’m so bad at those though…*sigh*

Why am I so ed up. >>

RinDesign - Yeah, his explanation was a bit fast because he just wants to tell her the parts of their meeting that he thinks left the biggest impression on her to trigger her memories.<br />
ShadowYin - Yesh, that was the point. XD She's supposed to be very different from how she was first portrayed. :) I'm glad you enjoy this chapter. ^ ^

Ohh, well it's interesting! It took me a little while to realize who was who in this chapter since the point of view changed but I figured out it was Kwonnie telling her the story in 1st person. It's a bit weird, it all went kinda fast, I mean the explaining of how they met and all that, but I get it, well at least I think so, haha.
