“Ahhh!!!” Yeon screamed as she shut open her eyes. It was just a dream but she felt it was real. She was scared at him; at Kris who almost choked her to death luckily she survived. Her body was trembling when Siwon entered her room with Yoora, they were worried for her since she doesn’t know anything why Kris did that to her.

“Yeon!” Yoora worriedly called her name and saw she was finally awake after few days of sleeping. She was full of sweat on her forehead and her eyes are wide like she saw a ghost.

“I-I dream about him, I’m scared…” She panicked but thanks to the siblings who always took care of her. The siblings sit on the edge of her bed and Yoora immediately hug her to calm her down. Yeon was shaking as the memory of Kris, but her dream is different from what happened to her the other day. She can’t figure it out why does she have to dream about him, and because of that dream she started to feel something weird. She was afraid of him but a part of her wants to see him again.

“It was just a dream, don’t worry we’re always here for you. We will protect you no matter what it takes okay?” Siwon reassures and she nodded her head. It’s a great relief that she has them whenever she needs someone to take away her misery. Since she lives with them, the siblings never treated her bad; instead they make her feel complete, wanted and loved. On the other hand, Kris can’t keep himself in one place, there’s a time he went to the forest to wait for her or wait at the veranda if she will come out of her room but none of those happened. He feels like a stupid one to hurt his mate that he was looking for since then. He promised to himself that he will take care of her until he die but the opposite one happened, he hurt her almost kill her. He really wants to go and hug her but Donghae stopped him form doing it because he might get killed by Siwon who was raging when he saw Yeon’s state that day. Suho on the other hand slightly mad at Kris because for him Yeon is not a threat anymore, he thinks that it’s not Yeon’s mistake to be the guardian of the black pearl, for him she was a fragile girl that needs protection but since he’s one of the leader of the group, he can’t just leave their mission over a girl. He knows they need to kill her but he also knows that he can’t most of all she was Kris mate. When he heard about it, he was hurt because he really likes her but for the sake of friendship and he was like a brother for him, he have to give her up for the one who destined to be with her and that is Kris.

The next day has come fast and Kris didn’t realize that it was time to go to school again after a few days of being absent. He lazily put his school uniform while looking at his reflection at the mirror in front of him. He was afraid that when Yeon sees him, she will avoid him like he’s having a disease. When he’s done, he just go to school without drinking blood that’s why his friends are worried that he might hurt someone when he gets hungry.

“He’s getting frustrated now to see that girl again but I can’t believe that she is also Kris hyung’s mate. How did it happen?” Chanyeol asked as he watch Kris walk out of the house. His friends feel sorry at the same time scared that he might go against the mission but little thing they know, he already does. Donghae at the side who’s also contemplating how to approach his friend Siwon after the chaos happened. He doesn’t even know he will accept him as his friend after all the things happened but he can’t blame him because he’s the one who’s in fault.

“Tao, give this to Kris when you see him at school.” Donghae give a silver flask to him and the younger one knitted his brows in confusion.

“What’s this?” Tao said as he examined the flask.

“It’s a flask containing blood, so if Kris gets thirsty he can just drink it but now just leave you’re getting late for school.” Donghae said and all of the guys leave the house for school but while walking to school, Suho can’t help but think about Yeon if she was going to school now or not but he smile when he saw Yeon walking but not just with Yoora but also with Siwon who’s glaring at them from afar.

“He was guarding her now but looks at him, he’s scary after he showed us his powerful aura, I don’t think I can stay at one place with him.” Chanyeol said while hiding at Baekhyun’s back.

“Wow wow wow Chanyeol is that you? So you’re saying you’re scared of him?” Chen commented in a mocking tone and Chanyeol was about to hit him but thanks to Baekhyun who stopped the giant.

“Stop being so childish and let’s go to school. We have to find Kris hyung and give the flask.” Baekhyun said while glaring at the two while Kris was standing at the rooftop thinking what he should say to Yeon when he saw her walking to the building with Yoora but Siwon is also with them. He already know that he’s guarding her from getting hurt or maybe guarding her away from him but when he look down again, he saw Yeon looking also at him. His heart starts to beat so fast that it may come out of his chest but her stare at him was different, it was full of horror and his heart hurts seeing her like that because of him. He may be cold and arrogant but he also has a heart.

“So, call me if something happen okay?” Siwon said and didn’t notice that Yeon is looking somewhere over there to Kris.

“Don’t worry oppa I will take care of her.” Yoora answered.

“Okay I’ll go ahead. Take care.” He said and left them. Yeon was thinking how she can trick Yoora to leave her alone so she can go where Kris is.

“Yoora, you go ahead I’ll just go to the bathroom over there.” She said and Yoora eyed her suspiciously from head to toe.

“Don’t worry I will come back. Just go inside first I’ll just follow.” Yeon assured and Yoora can’t help but let her go since she doesn’t want her to feel like a prisoner.

“Okay, but be careful and as much as possible, avoid Kris and his friends.” Yoora said before she leaves to go to class. Yeon looks over to Yoora before she walk to the rooftop, she was nervous to talk to him but she needs to know why he did that to her. She took the stairs and while walking up there, her heart beats faster than usual. When she’s already there, she took a deep breathe before she turned the knob of the metal door and saw him still standing there. She slowly walks up to him full of nervousness in her chest.

“Why are you here?” Kris suddenly asked her without turning back to her and she startled how he knew she was there.

“I-I just w-want to ask y-you s-something.” She stutters, her eyes looking on the ground. She waited for him to ask her what it is but no words come out from him.

“Why? Why did you do that to me? Did I do something wrong to you?” She asked and that’s the time when Kris turned around to face her. Kris comes closer to her that kinda scare her until her back hits the wall. He was towering her with his left hand leaning against the wall and his right hand inside his pocket.

“No. You didn’t do anything wrong for now but who knows what you can do on the future. I know what you feel inside here…” he pointed at her chest pertaining on her heart.

“……because I feel it too. Do you want to know why I’m here? I have to kill you in order to have in our land. You’re a threat in our raise and sweep our land in a blink of an eye.” Kris continues but Yeon didn’t understand what he’s saying to her.

“T-To kill me? But why? And your land? What does it mean?” Yeon asked him with wide eyes. She’s in a verge of crying but she’s trying to keep it to herself and prevent her tears to fall down.

“I’m not a human and so as my friends. We are vampires that are chasing after the guardian of the black pearl that might be the one who’ll destruct our land and that is you. You’re that one and I have to kill you. We’re here because of a mission to kill you.” He told her and she nodded her head. She hung her head low as a tear slipped on her eye but he still sees it.

“So, if I die everything will turn to be normal again in your land?” She asked but he didn’t answer.

“Don’t worry I will kill myself if that’s what you want just wait and see.” She pushed him away and left leaving the confused Kris and that’s it. His eyes widened in horror when he realized what she means by that. On the other hand, Suho was walking at the hallway when he saw her come out of the door to the rooftop. He was about to come up to her when he saw Kris also comes out at that door.

“Kris!” he approaches him but Kris just looks at him with fully worried eyes.

“Why? Is there anything wrong?” He asked.

“It’s nothing don’t mind me. Come on let’s go.” Kris answered but Suho knows that something is really wrong but then he remember what Donghae told him earlier about the flask.

“By the way, hyung told me to give this to you. It’s a flask that contains blood since you didn’t drink when you left home.” He gave the silver flask to Kris and he gladly took it from Suho. Both of them go to class and as usual, it was a boring one for them. It was really a long day for the boys and also for Yeon since she stared to avoid Kris and the whole group including Suho. She was just talking to Yoora and the other students except from them and it hurts Kris while Suho trying to start a conversation but Yeon always avoid making one with him. When class ended, Yeon and Yoora immediately left the room to go home since Siwon’s car is already waiting for them outside. All Kris could do was watching her back fades away from the door.

It was 11 o’clock in the evening and all of them are already asleep when Yeon sneak out of the house to go to the forest. She slowly closed the door and run to the forest with a lamp she’s holding to be her source of light. She continue to walk until she reach the big oak tree, she put down the lamp and sit under the tree and with a heavy sigh, she took out a knife that she’s hiding under her dress. She stares at it for a long time before she pointed it to her heart and stuck into it. She gasped at the pain into her chest but endures it and does it again until her body becomes paralyzed.

“I’m sorry” She before she closed her eyes and tears slipped down from her eyes while Kris in his room suddenly smells something. It was a strong smell that everyone in the house smells it and even at Yeon’s home where Siwon and Yoora are already sleeping wakes up because of the smell.

“Kris! Did you smell it?” Xiumin runs inside his room with the others. Kris was keeping thinking until he remembers what Yeon told him earlier at the rooftop.

“Don’t worry I will kill myself if that’s what you want just wait and see.” Kris eyes widened in horror and he immediately left the house following where the smell came from along with the others who’s following behind him.

“No. This can’t be. Don’t.”
