Tick tick tick tick...

The clock on the wall slowly clicked away. Taemin sat with his head sitting lazily on the palm of his hand, his elbow on the desk. The day was almost over and soon the weekend would bring its joys and excitement. With only 30 seconds left, students were already packing and turning to their neighbors to tell them their plans for the weekend. Taemin joined in, putting his notebook into his bag and turning around to see a sleeping Kibum. He laughed to himself and nudged his best friend.

“Hyung, wake up. Class is almost over.” He elbowed his arm until Kibum lifted his head, a stream of drool hanging from his lips.

“Uuugh…” Kibum groaned, “over already?  How long was I asleep?” He wiped his mouth and stretched his arms out, exposing his stomach. Taemin playfully poked his abs, making him jerk forward. “Yah!” He yelled out. Before he could poke Taemin back, the bell rang, and all the students in the classroom stood up and rushed to the door. Taemin stood up, but late Kibum had to quickly pack his things, so he waited.

When they walked into the hallway, Jonghyun was waiting by the door. He leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and a smile on his face.

“Baby!” Kibum embraced him with a bigger smile and a kiss on the cheek. Jonghyun laughed and kissed his boyfriend back.

“What took so long this time?” Jonghyun asked .

“Kibum fell asleep in class.” Taemin said as he gave Jonghyun a fistbump.

“I can’t help it! Teacher rambles and rambles in that class.” Kibum argued with a hand on his hip.

They started to walk down the hallway to the exit door when Jonghyun chimed in.

“Did you guys hear the announcement about the talent show?”

Taemin and Kibum looked at each other in curiosity. “No, what is it?”

“It’s going to be the biggest thing this year! Whoever wins will be crowned the most talented person in the school! It’s the greatest honor ever!” Jonghyun explained.

“Oh, maybe I can try some of my killer raps!” Kibum exclaimed.

“And I can do some dance!” Taemin added, doing some sample moves and aweing the boys.

Before Jonghyun could say what he wanted to do, he was pushed away by another person. When he looked to see who it was, he saw Minho and Jinki, the three boys’ biggest rivals, looking back at them.

Minho towered over Jonghyun, “Hey short stack, we overheard you talking about the talent show coming up. Let me tell you that the only people who will be winning will be either myself or Jinki. Don’t even think you’re good enough to be at our level.”

It was true; Minho was in the top choir along with Jinki. He was a fantastic rapper as well, definitely a competition for Kibum. Jinki was a great singer, maybe even a better singer than Jonghyun.

“Whatever, Minho.” Jonghyun defended himself.

Minho and Jinki left, leaving glares at all three boys. Taemin stared at Minho as he walked out. Even though he was his biggest rival, he had to say Minho was quite attractive. Maybe he had a bit of a crush on him? No, it wasn’t possible. They were two different people with two different statuses. It would never work out, and even if it did, Kibum would kick his .

“We can’t let them get to us. We have to get in that talent show and beat them!” Kibum said sternly.

The two boys agreed. They walked to the end of the hallway where the sign-up sheet for the talent show was. They each signed their names with determination. They would try their best to beat Minho and Jinki!
