DAY 21

Forty five year old rehab director Dr Kim Seung Soo lifted a steaming cup of black coffee to his lips while listening to Minho's plan for Jinri

".....so I'll call it Choi Minho intervention..."he said enthusiastically

A little smile played over Dr Kim's lips"Did you come here for detoxification or to replace me as the counselling director?"the man asked amusingly.

Smiling,the former gradeschool teacher slumped back onto the chair"I made her talk yesterday"he said,proud of his achievement"I can heal her trauma and pain through Choi Minho intervention"

Dr Kim shook his head slowly"Jinri has a severe case of schizophrenia.She completely shut herself to the outside world and has lived her life through delusion.Up to this day,she is still in denial and strongly believe that her parents were still alive"

Sympathy pricked at him as he recalled the sadness in her eyes.Tenderness and something unknown overrode through his heart as he pictured the traumatic moment Jinri had experienced ten years ago.

"Leave Jinri alone and focus your attention to the rehab's daily activities"Dr Kim said,fragmenting his thoughts

He shook his head stubbornly"I'd like to help her and no one, not even the RIS director can stop me"he said firmly

Dr Kim squinted his eyes at him"Do you like her?"he asked curiously.

Minho blinked in surprise,tounge tied while checking his feelings for Jinri, never sure how to answer the question.

Leaning his back against the chair,the psychiatrist looked directly into his eyes"No.You dont have to answer me"he said with a smile."When was the last time you thought about your ex-wife?"

He searched his memory"Five...six days ago..."he said in an unsure voice and started twiddling his fingers

Dr Kim noticed his hesitation and his habit of twiddling his fingers everytime he felt upset of tense about something

"You're just going to  help Jinri to overcome her trauma right?you dont have any personal intention to her beside your so called "Choi Minho Intervention" right?"

Minho paused,thinking of the poor woman in room 29."Right"he finally said."I just want to help her.That's all"

Dr Kim seemed to evaluate his choice of words before finally pushing off the high back chair.He headed toward the window,pulling down the venetian blinds."I'll give you my permission to heal her in one condition"he said then gave him a serious look

He raised an eyebrow"What condition?"

"Dont make her fall for you and dont fall for her if you are still confuse with your feelings to your ex-wife.She had been through a lot of pain Minho,the last thing I wanted is to see her getting hurt because the man she love couldnt make up his mind on who he really love"

It took a few seconds before he grasped what Dr Kim had said to him.He stood up,his mind and heart were debating,trying to figure out what his real intention to Jinri.

"To gain her trust,you need to cut the main root of her problem"Dr Kim said to him.

He just nodded,still in a state of confusion.

Day 22

The sound of rain on the roof and Luhan's off tune voice singing to Exo's "Growl" while laying next to him awakened him.

"Jinri!"he exclaimed as her image flashed in his mind.He rose and grabbed the yellow umbrella he borrowed from Nurse Noh yesterday.
