It really shouldn’t be this difficult to find a good assistant.

It wasn’t that Kris had impossibly high standards when it came to the people who worked for him, it was just that everyone who worked for him was incompetent. His expectations weren’t unreasonable; was it too much to ask that his personal assistant be available first thing in the morning and last thing at night, keep accurate records of any meetings, recordings, or publicity engagements that he had, supply him with coffee and any other necessities he needed, and do it all without managing to annoy him in some way? Kris didn’t think so.

But apparently it was.
