twenty-seven; goodbye
The CEO's Daughter
It took at least two weeks for Miyoung to be finally discharged from the hospital. She was happy because of the decision of her parents to work their marriage out again but she wasn't completely happy though because Sunggyu didn't even visit her. It was like he forgotten about her. For those days she was in the hospital, she was actually waiting for him to appear but it didn't happen. So again, she was hurt and disappointed.
"Do you want anything, dear?" Her mom came from her bedroom door. They just got home fro, the hospital.
She smiled. "I'm alright, mom."
"I'll make you a lemon juice, will that be alright?"
She nodded. "Thanks, mom." When her mom disappeared, she dropped herself on the bed. Though she hadn't done anything for the past days, she felt tired and just wanted to sleep. Moments later, her mom arrived with a glass of lemon juice. She muttered her thanks again before she left.
She crawled to bed and pulled the covers up to her neck. She wanted to sleep for a bit, if it's going to make her feel okay.
The truth was, she wanted to cry. She missed Sunggyu so much. She wanted to see him but obviously he didn't feel the same way. If he wanted to see her, he should have visited her while she was in the hospital. But he didn't. And she waited like an idiot. During those time, she kept on glancing towards the door, hoping the person who knocked on it was him. She ended up being disappointed and hurt.
Does he not care about me anymore, she always wondered that time. When the six members of Infinite, together with their girlfriends, came to visit her, she was actually expecting Sunggyu to be there. But not even his shadow had come. It was awful. She felt like crying that moment. He hadn't even called and passed on the nurse his message of 'get well soon' to her. Her heart was so broken she felt like it won't bring back into pieces.
It's better if we should stop seeing each other from now on, Sunggyu's hurtful words echoed inside her mind and felt her heart shattered into pieces once again. If that was what he wanted, then she will respect it. She couldn't just push herself towards him because clearly he doesn't want nor need her. And she gotta live with that even though it hurts so much.
Despite everything, she didn't regret that night they shared together. Upon remembering it, she closed her eyes as tears blinded her vision.
Miyoung cried herself to sleep, hoping tomorrow will be a better day for her.

Sunggyu had no idea what's gotten into him. He bought a rose gold necklace with diamonds and open heart pendant while they were in Japan yesterday. When he first saw the necklace, he automatically remembered Miyoung. And hell, he pictured himself behind her back as he put the necklace himself on her shoulder. That was totally random and ridiculous. He had no idea how he imagined himself that way.
He hurt her, he knew, he was aware of it. God knows how much he was holding himself back to visit her in the hospital, how much he wanted to hug her and kiss her.
But he knew so much better than to do that.
He's professional. He doesn't date someone he's working with nor someone who would soon work with him. And Miyoung was not an exemption to that rule of his. The last thing he would want to do was to have a relationship with the future CEO. And that would be weird and ridiculous for him.
That was why he can't love Miyoung.
And it felt like he was being punched on the gut. Hard.
He huffed, muttering a curse in the process. He held his gaze down on the jewelry box in his hands. He didn't exactly know what to do with it. He was avoiding Miyoung right now and he was
